Diving into the details…

I was born in Chicago and grew up about 45 mins north of the city in a town called Hainesville. (I still remember my home address and landline home phone number!) I think my love for beauty started at a young age. When I was around 7, I convinced my sister to let me play hairstylist and cut off her hair! My parents were less than pleased, but that may have been the moment to set the path for my career! As I grew up, I loved sitting close to the TV and pouring over magazine and newspaper cutouts staring at the hair, make up and character looks of my favorite movies and actresses. I would check out books from the library (before YouTube y’all!) and read through the books, studying the words and pictures inside. It was about middle/high school that I decided I wanted to move to LA and pursue hair and make up as a career. My dad was skeptical, but my mom, my always #1 supporter, encouraged me to follow my dreams! I went to school at a small school in Greenville, South Carolina, received my Business Degree and Cosmetology License, and moved to LA a month after graduation in June of 2012. Since that time, I have been pursuing my career through; print, fashion, film, television, theatre, advertising, private events, weddings, etc. I first moved to Cali to work on movies and create characters for people to get lost in the magical stories that film tells….But since I’ve moved here I’ve really fallen in love with all things beauty. I love beautiful things. I love to make and create beautiful things, and find that even in beauty I can collaborate with my client to create a “character” of the moment! I value the chance and trust you give me to create beautiful and magical moments with you!

About Weddings…

I truly didn’t understand brides until I was married myself in June of 2016. We met here in LA at the gym (typical LA!). We got married at Malibu Bluffs Park and took our party back to Blush Banquet Hall for the best party of my life!

When deciding on hair and make up for my wedding I kept going back and forth, should I do it? Should I get it done? I had a trial with one artist (yes even as an MUA!) and that definitely did not turn out how I wanted to look on my day of (ask me about it during your wedding trial, it’s such a funny story now!). At that point I decided I would do my own beauty services…. Then 2 weeks before my wedding, I realized that this was my special day! I wanted to be pampered! So I called on my sweet & talented work colleague and wedding beauty mentor and she made herself available for my special day!

Fun Facts about me:

• I love plants! My favorite flowers are red geraniums and carnations! My hubby and I enjoy taking care of and planting our “Plant Babies”.

• I have a passion for our planet & sustainability and strive to make green choices in every area of my life!

• I love travel! I’ve been to London, Paris, & Cancun for now! I’ve also been to most of the states in the US! My hubby and I have big plans for travel in the next coming years!

• I have a growing love for all things Disney, and I’m not sorry about it in the least! (Fun fact for the fun fact: I actually worked for Disney for a bit!)

• I am passionate about beauty, but also personal finance and financial independence!

• I love my family, they are my biggest supporters and my life’s best gift!

• I absolutely love to laugh, especially until my belly hurts, it’s my most favorite thing in life!
