Lending a dash of al fresco charm to Suburban San Diego County, this venue can provide the backdrop for your entire once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Though close to State Route 78 and San Diego International Airport, the property evokes a sense of tranquility that will surely endear your nearest and dearest. Owners Matt and Amy Stoehr invite you and your partner to say “I do” at this Golden State gem.
Facilities and Capacity
River Garden Wedding & Event Venue can host up to 250 of your friends and relatives. With 36,000 square feet of flexible event space, the property boasts a mix of indoor and outdoor settings. Your guests are sure to be delighted by the calming waterfalls and immaculate gardens, details that contribute to the venue’s relaxing vibe. You can say “I do” at the covered patio area before exploring the idyllic grounds. Receptions also take place outside, allowing you and your loved ones to dance the night away beneath the stars.
Services Offered
At River Garden Wedding & Event Venue, the team will endeavor to bring your vision to life without a hitch. The team can attend to every facet of your occasion. You can rent the whole property for up to 12 hours, and you have the freedom to bring in your own choice of vendors. Arches, tables, chairs, bar services and lighting are just a few of the many event items that can be provided for an additional cost.
History
Matt and Amy Stoehr originally arrived in Vista to work as pastors. Passionate about bringing people together, they made it their mission to establish an event venue that would welcome soon-to-be newlyweds from all over California. After decades of dreaming, the duo fulfilled their ambition and opened River Garden Wedding & Event Venue in the 2010s.

Beautiful blank canvas venue!
Communicating with Hanna prior to booking was easy, she had all the answers to all of our questions. Once we officially booked, communication was redirected to their venue manager, Becca. She was helpful when it came to any questions regarding what the venue did or didn't have available.
The venue is ultimately a beautiful choice with tons of water features and plenty of photo spaces. It is near the freeway, however with the waterfall wall on, we didn't think it was an issue for us. The venue offers beautiful walnut colored wooden chairs and tables including in the pricing. The ceremony area is the perfect mix of an outdoor and shaded space with the option of multiple backdrops for your ceremony within that area. The reception space is beautiful with plenty of space for guests, and areas additional vendors. The bridal suite has adequate space for getting ready and worked for my small bridal party. However, you aren't able to get into the bridal suite until 10AM, so if you have a bigger group you may have to consider getting ready elsewhere. Another bonus is a new room for grooms to get ready in, which not very many venues offer. There are a few men's restrooms, and plenty of stalls in the women's room with lots of sink space, and even a baby changing table with an additional sink in that space.
We had no issues with this venue and would absolutely recommend it based on looks, service and pricing!
