Laurel Premo is known for her rhythmically deep and rapt delivery of roots music, spanning the crossover of old-time and bluesy American traditions to darker Scandinavian sounds. She is a Michigan-based artist who has been writing, arranging, and touring internationally since 2009 with vocal and instrumental roots acts. “Subtle but dazzling and rich in texture. She was first introduced to folk music by her parents and later mentored by Joel Mabus (banjo, Michigan), Arto Järvelä (fiddle, Finland), and Ånon Egeland (fiddle, Norway).
