Riley Anderson has been a performing musician for over a decade. He began his musical journey at the age of 12 starting on the euphonium (similar to a smaller tuba) and was involved in band all throughout school. At age 13, he disocvered his love for guitar, and regularly played both euphonium in the band program, and guitar in the jazz ensembles. During his senior year, he successfully auditioned into the principal positions of Virginia District 16 Concert Band on euphonium, and Virginia District 16 Jazz Ensemble on guitar.
Riley currently holds a Master of Music in Music Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from Central Michigan University. While at the Royal Northern, Riley studied the euphonium under virtuosos Steven Mead and David Thronton,and guitar with Steve Berry and Stuart McCallum, and performed with the Brass Band, Euphonium/Baritone Ensemble, UniBrass, and the award winning Strata Brass Band.
Besides performing music, Riley is also a guitar teacher/coach, a dance teacher, as well as competitive dancer in West Coast Swing.
