We weren’t sure if wanted to hire a videographer for our wedding in August 2023, but we are SO glad that we did. Originally, it just seemed out of our budget because some of the videographers we looked at were so expensive. When we found Pirate’s Lane Video, Jim worked with us to create a custom package that included all the footage/videos we wanted at a price that worked within our budget. Besides fitting into our budget, Jim was also extremely nice and easy to work with. Before we signed the contract, he hopped on the phone with us to chat through his approach, allowed us to ask a ton of questions, and made us feel at ease. Another reason we hired Jim is because many of his online reviews mentioned that they didn’t notice him much on the wedding day (in a good way!). Sometimes, seeing a camera in your face and being reminded that you are being filmed may make you act differently and a bit less natural. Jim was able to capture every single moment of the day, and we barely noticed he was there. That is exactly what we wanted! He was also very flexible when we decided to add a video to our package AFTER the wedding. And probably most importantly, the final videos we received are absolutely amazing. All we can say is WOW! He is so talented and wonderfully arranged beautiful moments and footage with beautiful music. We could not be more pleased with his work. Videography was something we tossed back and forth on, is it worth it? We already had a photographer booked and finally decided it was better to have it than regret it later if we didn’t get it. Let me tell you, it is worth it! Just look at Jim’s Instagram page, Pirates Lane Videography page gives you such amazing insight into Jim’s mind. His creative work stands out in itself! Our photographer and Jim worked so well together, side by side helping one another out and being respectful of each other’s crafts. We have yet to see our video from Jim, but we know without a doubt we will absolutely love it and are so excited to see Jim’s magic. He was such an incredible and important piece to our special day and cannot thank him enough for all he did. He was an absolute joy to work with and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for videography.

Jim did an absolutely phenomenal job capturing our wedding day in Plymouth this past August. Both me and my husband were in tears watching the documentary film and highlight reel! When Jim sent these over, we watched them both 2-3x back-to-back, we couldn’t get over how incredible they turned out.

Not only did Jim go above and beyond to arrive early to scope out the area prior to the wedding, but he also stayed until the close of the evening, which led to some really fun and memorable footage of our last dance of the night.

During the wedding itself, Jim has a way of blending into the background in the best way possible. He makes you feel at ease, and captures candid moments without guests realizing there are cameras around. His calming personality and clear expertise led to the most authentic and beautiful video. Jim was the ONLY videographer who would provide us with our ENTIRE wedding video from start to finish (even with all the boring parts in between that we specifically requested)! I know having a 2-3-hour video isn't every couples' cup of tea, but it's what we wanted, and nobody else could give us that level of service, especially for the incredible price that Pirates Lane Video has. Our video was so high quality, and Jim sent us multiple bonus footage. Do not be nervous that there are only 5 Google reviews for Pirates Lane Video!

Also, we decided to upgrade to the selfie camera stick for our guests during the reception, and it did not disappoint. We are so glad that we have a video of our guests talking to us that we can look back on forever.

Your wedding day goes by incredibly fast, and it's honestly hard to remember it. Having this video allows us to relive, revisit, and remember the day. We won't have to worry about forgetting in years to come, because we have it all professionally documented. Paying for our video (and our photos) were the only two things that we felt were 100% worth it in the end because they last forever and aren't over in a flash.

Just want to give a heads up that Jim also provides great trailers and 10-20-minute,etc. edited wedding videos, but we chose to skip those and go for the full-blown documentary.

Jim was great the day of in capturing all of the big and little moments. My husband and I are so excited to see the video.

Jim was so great from start to finish. You barely knew he is there filming. He captured all the highlights of the day. And our short "music" video was amazing. He was much more affordable than others. I would highly recommend him.

We did not know where to start to look for a videographer. We wanted someone local. I saw Jim's name and reached out. He was quick to respond. Since it was during covid, we met over the phone or zoom. We were impressed and hired him. We filled out what we wanted on his website and let him know what to expect as far as family, cake cutting, first dance, etc. The day of the wedding, Jim appeared and even though we knew he was there, he was so unobtrusive, that we kind of forgot he really was there. He even had a drone, which gave us some spectacular footage. Because he was pretty much out of our sight, we hoped he caught it all(he did). First, we got the highlight reel and it was so great and just the perfect length to send to friends and family. We then got the 2 hour video and it is perfect. We will all enjoy this for years to come. We have no hesitation in recommending Jim. His work is amazing!

If you are on the fence about getting a videographer, I know exactly how you feel! I was the exact same way, and could not imagine spending more money on something that did not feel essential to our wedding. However, we got our video last night, and I turned to my husband smiling, and said "That was seriously the best money we ever spent." And trust me, I was incredibly budget conscious throughout our entire wedding. I laughed, I cried, and I loved seeing guests interact that I did not notice on the day of the wedding. It's so fun to see! Jim was an absolute professional and quite possibly the easiest of our vendors to work with. He answered all of his emails in an incredibly quick amount of time, and we received our wedding trailer and full video quicker than I anticipated. My number one concern was whether or not our videographer would be in the way. Let me tell you now that I hardly knew Jim was there. I can't believe the shots he was able to get without me even seeing him. I researched a ton of other videographers, and Jim was definitely the most reasonably priced that I saw. I cannot recommend him enough. Seriously, if you are on the fence about having a videographer, just do it and hire Jim!

Jim and his wife did an amazing job video taping our event! We had a morning South Indian ceremony and an evening reception. They both took such good care and dedication to making sure all of the important aspects of ceremony and reception were captured. No part of their work affected the event for us or others. The trailer video came very quickly and was perfectly composed for the memorable parts. The long and longer versions of the video included all of the crucial parts that especially our families who couldn't be part of the event enjoyed. Highly recommend them especially for Indian events!
