I recently worked with Jim at Pirates Lane Video for my fall 2025 wedding. From the first inquiry, our communication was great. He got back to all of my emails quickly and answered every question I had. His prices were fair and he offered great add-ons which helped us ensure we had everything we wanted.
On the day of the wedding, he came ready to go with awesome energy. He got footage of everything from getting ready, to first look, to the ceremony, cocktail hour, speeches, dancing, and some awesome drone shots. The estimated time frame for our video was 6 months, but he sent it to us in 4 and a half! We absolutely loved our video as well as all the raw footage he sent us. Videography was something we tossed back and forth on, is it worth it? We already had a photographer booked and finally decided it was better to have it than regret it later if we didn’t get it. Let me tell you, it is worth it! Just look at Jim’s Instagram page, Pirates Lane Videography page gives you such amazing insight into Jim’s mind. His creative work stands out in itself! Our photographer and Jim worked so well together, side by side helping one another out and being respectful of each other’s crafts. We have yet to see our video from Jim, but we know without a doubt we will absolutely love it and are so excited to see Jim’s magic. He was such an incredible and important piece to our special day and cannot thank him enough for all he did. Lauren Sent on 12/22/2024Jim did an incredible job capturing our August 2024 wedding in Plymouth!
Jim did an absolutely phenomenal job capturing our wedding day in Plymouth this past August. Both me and my husband were in tears watching the documentary film and highlight reel! When Jim sent these over, we watched them both 2-3x back-to-back, we couldn’t get over how incredible they turned out.
Not only did Jim go above and beyond to arrive early to scope out the area prior to the wedding, but he also stayed until the close of the evening, which led to some really fun and memorable footage of our last dance of the night.
During the wedding itself, Jim has a way of blending into the background in the best way possible. He makes you feel at ease, and captures candid moments without guests realizing there are cameras around. His calming personality and clear expertise led to the most authentic and beautiful video. We’re so happy that Jim captured our wedding.
If you're considering hiring a videographer, make sure it’s Pirates Lane. It's one of the best decisions we made!! -

Jim was so great from start to finish. You barely knew he is there filming. He captured all the highlights of the day. And our short "music" video was amazing. He was much more affordable than others. I would highly recommend him.Pirates Lane Video's reply:

We did not know where to start to look for a videographer. We wanted someone local. I saw Jim's name and reached out. He was quick to respond. Since it was during covid, we met over the phone or zoom. We were impressed and hired him. We filled out what we wanted on his website and let him know what to expect as far as family, cake cutting, first dance, etc. The day of the wedding, Jim appeared and even though we knew he was there, he was so unobtrusive, that we kind of forgot he really was there. He even had a drone, which gave us some spectacular footage. Because he was pretty much out of our sight, we hoped he caught it all(he did). First, we got the highlight reel and it was so great and just the perfect length to send to friends and family. We then got the 2 hour video and it is perfect. We will all enjoy this for years to come. We have no hesitation in recommending Jim. His work is amazing!Pirates Lane Video's reply:

My fiancee (wife!) and I were planning a small, backyard COVID-free wedding in less than a month and we were trying to find some way to include our loved ones who wouldn't be able to be there in person. We were so lucky to have found Jim on Google! We hired him to livestream our wedding. He was responsive, professional, very reasonably priced, and made our wedding perfect.
Everyone loved the livestream! It was such a great investment and allowed us to include everyone we wanted to be a part of our special day. Even people who weren't able to see the ceremony live can watch the replay that is still up! We were able to give our guests an experience of being at the wedding and Jim captured beautiful and sweet and funny moments that we will have forever. It was amazing that he didn't need to rely on our WIFI and that all of his equipment ran on batteries. It wasn't just that he was unobtrusive, but he even helped enhance the experience for everyone. Our in-person guests were excited to get texts from people in real-time saying that they were on TV!!
Jim is a really nice guy, seemed to care about the success of my wedding, and went above and beyond to make the day amazing. Hiring him was definitely one of the best decisions of my life and I highly recommend you hire him as well!Pirates Lane Video's reply:

Jim was absolutely a pleasure to work with. I found Jim about 2 years ago (yikes!) when I was initially planning my November 2020 wedding. I was looking for a videographer that would make a timeless video for me and husband to look back on years to come. I didn't want this super dramatic and exaggerated video, I wanted someone to capture the true emotions and fun of the day in video form, and Jim did just that! When my wedding got postponed due to Covid, he was extremely flexible & offered us a special on our mini ceremony that we held this year. His pricing isn't even close to those in his field, but his work was even better in my opinion! He was super flexible and responsive to any concerns I had when it came to videoing our wedding with our elderly grandparents. Jim listened to my crazy request of wearing 2 masks during the ceremony to make sure my Nana was safe. Not only did he do that, but he made sure to keep his distance, and he brought a formal mask too to cover his other masks! He went above and beyond to capture the exact moments that we wanted captured. He was so kind and attentive, but yet we didn't even notice he was there capturing those moments. My family hates being recorded, so having someone who wasn't in our faces, but also somehow, captured moments like he was, was extremely important to us. You know the video is amazing when I was already in tears after the first 30 seconds. I am bursting at the seems wanting to share my video with everyone. I HIGHLY recommend Jim and can't say enough positive things about his work, his ability to relax those he is videoing, and his professionalism. It took some convincing, but 2 months before our wedding my husband and I decided to get a videographer. We decided to go with Pirate Lane Video and I am so glad we did! Their pricing was great for the quality of the video. They were very quick to give us a teaser trailer, and the full length video came out so good, I cried....a lot. Jim and Pirates Lane video was the perfect choice for our wedding videographer. We just received our wedding highlights and full film and could not be more happier with the results. It takes talent to edit that much footage and be able to capture the key essence of the day but Jim and his team did so effortlessly. We have received so much compliments on our highlights video. Aside from the final product, Jim was very easy to work with. He was very prompt with any questions we had and very professional. Overall, we highly recommend Pirates Lane Videos for your video needs. Between the great pricing, professionalism of Jim, and wonderful final products, you truly will not be disappointed. Cynthia Sent on 09/10/2010We had originally not budgeted for a videographer for our wedding and were just going to go without, but about a week before the wedding my father started panicking because we "only have one shot" to get the footage, and we might regret not having a video down the road. So my mother starting searching high and low for an affordable videographer that would be available last minute. She found Jim at Pirates Lane Video on craigslist of all places! In hindsight, i realize that I really didn't do my research... without the luxury of time, we met Jim once, signed a contract, and just trusted that everything would be fine. And we lucked out! Jim was very professional, arrived on time/early to both the rehearsal and the day of and was very inconspicuous - I hardly remember seeing him, yet the final product was so beautiful! In the end, I'm really glad that we changed our minds last minute, because as a result, we now have a beautiful video to relive our special day.
