My wife and I were searching for a wedding venue in Cape May that would accommodate a smaller guest list on a weekend day; we also wanted to prioritize the reception food for our guests, and had heard that Peter Shields is the best in town (it is!). As soon as we walked into the inn, we knew we had found our venue and right after called another venue to cancel the other tour we had scheduled that day. Not only is the inn right across the street from the beach (with ocean views from the reception area and guest rooms), it is also a beautiful historic building. Amy, their in-house event coordinator, was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. I was an anxious bride and in the lead up to the wedding I lost count of all the emails I sent her with my questions, which she fully and promptly answered. We also brought A LOT of decor with us (we used silk flowers for our florals), which Amy and her team set up beautifully the morning of. As for the wedding day itself, staying over the night before and after with all our family members is something I'll never forget. PSI was a stunning backdrop to the ceremony, which was held on the front steps of the inn and lawn. It was the perfect space for our 60-person wedding, and during the reception guests flowed easily from the covered porch, to the dance floor, to the bar and dining room. Additionally, my biggest worry was that not many people would dance, with it being a smaller daytime wedding, but the dance floor was packed the entire time! So many guests came up to us to tell us that ours was one of the best weddings they'd every been to, and we have PSI, Amy, and all of the staff to thank for making our dream wedding come true!

We were searching for the perfect venue to host an intimate and special wedding celebration dinner in Cape May -one of our favorite beach towns - and Peter Shields Inn exceeded every expectation. Beautifully located just across the street from the beach in Cape May, NJ, the setting alone is stunning and full of charm.

They graciously accommodated our group of 30 guests in their Brides Room for a private dinner, and despite the smaller wedding size, it felt every bit as meaningful, elegant, and memorable as a larger wedding celebration. We were able to bring in our own wedding cake and have on-site photography, which made the evening feel even more personal and special. Our guests also enjoyed relaxing on the porch with cocktails while my husband and I took photos on the beach. It was such a lovely and seamless experience.

The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, but the event coordinator, Amy, truly went above and beyond. She was absolutely spectacular; always prompt, thorough, and thoughtful in her communication. She connected us with outstanding local vendors: Khalil for piano, Tim Joyce for photography, Cape Winds Florist for centerpieces, and Bake Works for our cake. Every single vendor she recommended was exceptional and easy to work with. 

Amy also ensured that all dietary restrictions were handled with care and kindness, and she went out of her way to help set everything up in advance so that we could simply arrive, relax, and fully enjoy our time with our loved ones. Her patience, professionalism, and genuine care made the entire process stress-free and truly enjoyable.

This was truly a 10/10 experience for us. We highly recommend Peter Shields Inn to anyone looking for a beautiful, intimate, and unforgettable setting to celebrate a marriage or special occasion. It was everything we hoped for and more.

Hosting our wedding at PSI was the single best decision we made throughout the whole planning process! From the moment we walked through the door, we fell in love with the beautiful space. Their wedding planner, Amy, is so kind and welcoming - From the moment we met her we felt at ease. She made everything so smooth for us while we were planning and ensured everything ran perfectly the day of the wedding!

All of their staff is so nice and professional! The food the day of our wedding was fantastic! We got so many compliments from our guests about how great everything was. They really helped to make our wedding the most perfect day!

I felt very comfortable going into our wedding day because all my questions were answered in a very efficient manner and time frame. We held a micro wedding (just 14 guests) and the team made us feel as special as a 300 person wedding.  When we sat down with Amy, we knew immediately we were going to book with PSI.  Amy showed us a book with all the options PSI offered, from photos to vendors, and we appreciated the amount of time she dedicated to helping us design our big day.  On the day of the wedding, PSI staff were simply outstanding and I cannot thank them enough!

My wife and I hosted our wedding at PSI this past June and had a wonderful experience. The staff is so professional and friendly. The food was incredible. This was our dream wedding venue. Amy, the wedding coordinator, and the whole team at Peter Shields made it possible for us to have our wedding here and we could not be more grateful to them. PSI, traditionally does not do evening events and they made this happen for us and it was the most magical night ever. Our family and friends have told us it was the best wedding they have ever attended. Amy made the planning as seamless as possible and was so easy to work with. Everything was perfect down to the cocktails, the appetizers, the dinner and the service. There is not one thing we would change. Thank you PSI for giving us a night that we will never forget!
