My husband and I had a small, intimate wedding at Peter Shields Inn on 11/30/2023 and it was truly a perfect day.

Amy, the event coordinator, is amazing to work with! Leading up to the wedding, she was responsive and so helpful in answering my many questions. Our wedding day was amazing and Amy was a huge part of making our day so special. She was so organized and on top of everything, which make my day stress free.

The venue itself is beautiful! When we got married, the Inn was decorated for the holidays. The decor was timeless and classy with silvers and gold, which meant that we really didn't need to bring much more in for decor. I appreciated that they are a BYOB venue, so I saved a lot of money on alcohol. The food was AMAZING. Our family is still talking about how great the food was over a month later.

Our wedding dinner at PSI was AMAZING. The food was AMAZING. The service was AMAZING. Everyone was so kind and really went out of their way to help you. They made me feel relaxed and able to enjoy myself. I cannot say enough about Amy, PSI’s event coordinator. She was very responsive and helped me plan the whole dinner. She sent me recommendations and answered every question I had. We had a small wedding of about 30 people and this was the PERFECT location. 100/10.

Amy and the team ensured our wedding was perfect from the initial planning stage. I live 6 hours from Cape May and I was not able to visit before the wedding which made me nervous but Amy helped me plan all details via email and phone – all of her advice was incredibly helpful including the well curated vendor list. The toughest decision you will have to make is selecting the entrees and apps from the gourmet menu. Here is a tip, pick the asparagus in puff pastry for appetizer – my aunt is mad at me for not asking the chef for the recipe. I cannot thank the PSI team enough for making my dream of an elegant wedding come true.

Our wedding at Peter Shield’s was a dream! From booking the venue to our ride in the getaway car we were always taken care of. The entire staff was so accommodating and wonderful not only to myself, and my now Husband but our guests as well! Amy, the Wedding and Event Coordinator was incredible every step of the way. I was a bit of a nervous Bride but I was always put at ease as Amy very, very patiently answered all of my many questions. Amy even came in on her day off on the day before our wedding to go over everything with us and to make sure we were taken care of.
If you’re familiar with Cape May, you know Peter Shield’s is one of the best restaurants in town and all of the food at the wedding was phenomenal! All of our guests really enjoyed their meal and appetizers during the cocktail hour. Not only was every morsel of food that was served delicious but everything had such beautiful presentation which was super important to us.

Peter Shield’s Inn is such a gorgeous venue from the exterior of the building and the landscaping outside. In fact, we didn’t do much for decor outside because it’s so beautiful year-round. The inside of the inn is such a beautiful and historic building making it the perfect backdrop for our Cape May wedding.

To summarize, Peter Shield’s is a crown jewel of Cape May and it made our wedding day shine and my Husband and I can’t recommend it enough!

PSI was the only venue we toured — we signed on the spot and couldn't be happier with our decision! It's the PERFECT venue for a unique, classy wedding with a more intimate feel. We hosted ~50 guests and they raved about the atmosphere, food, live band, daytime ceremony/reception, everything. PSI is a truly stunning venue — so beautiful that we spent $0 on decor. Cape May was also the perfect backdrop for the weekend and everyone loved exploring the beach and nearby bars outside of the event. Amy and the entire staff were incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating and made planning a breeze. Take advantage of all PSI has to offer, such as the butlered desserts instead of a classic cake. The food is seriously out of this world delicious. My husband and I had no vision for our wedding other than "not a typical ballroom" and we almost can't believe how lucky we were to find such a gorgeous venue that worked for our budget. Take it from my grandmother, who texted me the following a few days after the wedding: "I found the venue to be the nicest I have been to, and I have been to a lot of highbrow weddings." 5000/5 stars. Can't recommend PSI enough!

We’re so glad that we chose PSI for our 50 person wedding last October, it truly exceeded our expectations. We loved that the ceremony and reception were all at the same location, and the whole venue felt intimate. We were easily able to spend time with all of our guests. We loved how much we could customize our ceremony and reception and that many of our guests could stay on the premises. Amy was a great coordinator. She was always helpful and responsive while planning the wedding, and everything went seamlessly on our wedding day. She was very present but made everything seem effortless on the day, and she has a very calm energy that we really appreciated. The food was delicious and was complimented by our guests. We were thrilled with the landscaping around the Inn, it was really beautifully done, and all of the blooming flowers really added to our photos. We used vendors suggested by PSI as well, and all of them were great. We particularly enjoyed working with our photographer Aleks and the pianist Kahlil, who were both extremely professional, kind, and talented. Lastly, we found PSI very accommodating. For one example, I asked Amy if a member of the staff would be able to Facetime the ceremony for a family member who couldn’t be present, and PSI really went above and beyond to make our family member feel included in our day, which was very much appreciated. Our wedding turned out exactly as we hoped, and we would recommend PSI to anyone looking to host a small wedding.

Peter Shields was number one on our list when we were looking for somewhere in Cape May that was romantic, lowkey but classy, and had incredible food. They can accommodate up to 100 people for a wedding which was perfect for what we were looking for. Amy was a great help through the process of contacting local vendors and answering questions. We got married on a weekend with a hurricane on the way and I was a mess all week because our hope was to get married on the steps outside. A miracle happened in the Cape May bubble and Amy and our vendors and staff at Peter Shields had us outside for our dream wedding and it went beautifully. The timing of everything was down to a science concerning the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner set up. Everyone was highly professional, courteous, and kept it fun and alive with the fear of a hurricane happening on our wedding day. We wouldn't have wanted it any other way and we are so happy to have created memories to last the rest of our lives all starting at Peter Shields.

We were so lucky to have found PSI to host our wedding. With ocean views and the full venue to yourself, even with only 20 guests, it was the perfect setup. Amy the wedding coordinator was amazing: she helped with all the setup, answered all our questions, and made the day seamless. We could not recommend this venue enough.

We had our wedding of 31 people at PSI on 12/11/21. Everything from the food to the service to the small touches was perfect! Amy was so great at managing the big and small worries and worked with us to create a day that was so special. Often at weddings, the bride and groom are so busy running around that they don't eat until dinner, but the staff at PSI ensured my husband and I had food and drink during photo hour. I cannot recommend enough!

Choosing PSI for our wedding was the best decision we ever made. Amy and her team were absolutely amazing and there to assist at all times during planning and the day of the wedding. We had around 80 guests and each and every one of them raved about the food and atmosphere - the best they have ever had! Everyone was up and dancing the entire wedding and the vendors Amy suggested were all absolutely amazing!! We wish we could relive this day over and over again. We cannot wait to visit PSI yearly and reflect on the best day ever. We could not have pictured our wedding anywhere else. Amy truly made the day even more special for us. We love PSI!!!

We had the best wedding at Peter Shields Inn! Everything was perfect! Amy, the wedding coordinator, helped us think through our options and was patient and amazing. On our wedding day she saw that every detail was covered for our beach wedding and reception in the Inn afterwards. We had a group of 54 people and a live band. The venue felt intimate and welcoming and the staff was so friendly. The food was to die for!

We never wanted a large wedding and despite covid regulations, we were only able to have 35 max people, and we were ok with that. It encouraged us to create a day about us, which is what a wedding should be about. Amy and her team at PSI executed every detail perfectly. Every guest raved at how perfect out wedding was. The day was just simply magical! If your on the fence, the food and enbiance are second to none! It was simply perfect!!

The Peter Shields Inn was the perfect venue for our little wedding of ~20 people. The restaurant itself is beautiful and made for a picturesque background for our special day. If you value amazing food over the usual wedding venue menus, this is the venue for you! We had dined at PSI before in the past and their wedding menu was just as amazing as their restaurant menu. Also, Amy is a rockstar! She really helped pull everything together to make our wedding magical. All around great service - would recommend the PSI as a wedding venue to anyone!

I cannot give any more praise or thanks to both Amy and the entire Peter Shields Inn team for making our wedding day everything we had hoped for and then so, so much more. From our very first call, to our first sit down with Amy, we knew that PSI was the place we wanted to say "I do."

After getting engaged last summer, we started to look for placed in New Jersey that would hold a smaller, intimate wedding for our special day. As two individuals with large families we knew that we wanted our big day to be intimate and had a total of 20 guests there to witness our joining in marriage. The team also went above and beyond for our niece and nephew and made sure that they had chicken fingers available during the cocktail hour and more juice and Shirley temples than they knew what to do with.

Thinking back on the day we can't just pick one thing that made it great -- the view, the decor, the charm of the inn and let me not forget -- the food were all perfect! Everything about our day felt special and we are so grateful to Amy and her team for making our dreams come true and creating the happiest of memories that we'll cherish for a lifetime.

If you have a chance to get married at PSI or even just go for dinner or to stay a long weekend at the inn, please do. Their staff is a group of true professionals and you will not be disappointed.

Amy & all of the PSI staff members made our wedding day such a perfect and memorable day. We truly appreciated all of their help with our questions, requests and the quick responses to all of our e-mails! The staff members were extremely helpful and kind to all guest. The food was delicious and the whole environment was pure perfection! They made our day run seamlessly and placed everything exactly where we wanted them including the flowers on the Cake! My mother is handicap and they pulled out all the stops to make sure she could be apart of our day and feel comfortable while doing so! We can’t thank PSI enough for their professionalism on executing such a perfect day!

This was the perfect venue for our wedding. Because of COVID we eloped. Even though we were having a small wedding Amy still gave us her full attention. They worked with us to make it a perfect day. Amy came in on her day off to ensure that everything went smoothly. We were given undivided attention from all the staff for our entire stay. I would recommend this venue. If I had to do it again I would still choose PSI.

My fiance and I selected PSI because we wanted something small and non-traditional (we ended up with approximately 40 guests). Before we even booked, Amy was available to answer my questions and was extremely helpful. The whole experience with PSI was excellent. I had a bit of sticker shock initially at the price per person, but it was all inclusive and I knew I wanted this venue. There were no hidden fees or surprises, and I really appreciated that everything was included and I knew it all up front. Knowing what other friends have been through with hidden expenses, PSI was actually relatively reasonable. On our wedding weekend, the staff was fantastic, the atmosphere was wonderful (our friends and family couldn't say enough good things), and the food was fantastic. I would recommend PSI to anyone looking for an intimate wedding with a great atmosphere!

The Peter Shields Inn is the perfect wedding venue for a quaint oceanfront wedding! The B&B is picture perfect and the food and service was amazing!! We decided to forgo the beach wedding and say our vows on the front steps of PSI and we were pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous fall decor and abundance of monarch butterflies that surrounded us! Amy made sure all accommodations were handled and that the day was stress free. She went above and beyond when my son lost his boutonnière and made him a new one just moments before I walked down the isle. Every detail was attended to which allowed us to just relax and enjoy the happiest day of our lives!!! We are looking forward to celebrating many happy anniversaries with PSI in the years to come!!

We had such a wonderful experience with PSI. Amy was so helpful during the planning process. They went above & beyond to make sure that our day was absolutely perfect! And the food was superb - we had hor'dourves on the deck and then for dinner & dessert, we had an entire dining room to ourselves. It was blissful! We cannot recommend PSI enough!

My husband and I just had our wedding a couple of days ago at PSI, on June 18th. I can't say enough great things about this venue. Amy, their Wedding Coordinator, and the rest of the staff are phenomenal. We had a small wedding and reception of 37 people (including the wedding party), so the size of the venue was perfect. Our family was able to get all 9 rooms of the inn for the weekend so it was great to have the whole place to ourselves. The venue is beautiful, each room is great and the landscaping is beautiful, which really made our outdoor ceremony great. The food was all absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. We didn't have to worry about anything on our wedding day. Amy kept everything running smoothly from the ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. The bottom line is basically that I can't say enough great things about PSI. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a Cape May wedding venue.

Our wedding was held at this stately, historic Inn on 02/20/16 with only 2 months of planning. My future husband and I had only one place to consider to hold our intimate celebration of our nuptials and engaging The Peter Shields Inn lived up to every high expectation. Amy, the wedding coordinator, was incredibly gracious in her assistance from the initial meeting through ensuing meetings to the final event at the end of the weekend. She flawlessly worked with the PSI staff, all the vendors and the off site wedding planning that handled many of the final details to ensure that our wedding was as beautiful as we had ideated. We were able to secure the whole building for our afternoon/evening event and the staff was able to make our vision of an elegant event a reality. We chose to use one dining room as the ceremony room complete with an aisle with chairs arranged for guests to sit, which was then transformed into a cocktail room and then eventually the dessert room - all with a flourish of the doors closing, the staff rearranging furniture, candles, trays, flowers, etc. and then the doors opening to a new reveal. As well, the other dining room was set up for a formal sit down dinner resplendent with hundreds of candles at different levels that provided an inviting glow when the doors opened to allow the 50 guests to take their seats. The PSI staff held a formal list of the guests with their table assignments and the guests were lead to their tables. There was a flawless transition from a single piano player to a jazz trio at the end of the cocktail hour, thanks again to the excellent staff with Amy directing. Effusive compliments were endlessly forthcoming as our guests supped on delectable hors d'oeuvres, entrees and seemingly endless sweets. The warm glow from the lighting coupled with the perfect combination of music choice and impeccable service proved without a doubt that we had made the right choice in The Peter Shields Inn. Highly recommend!

We held our rehearsal dinner at PSI in May 2011. It was wonderful! The food was to die for (especially the pan seared scallops) and the service was AMAZING. The view is one of the best in Cape May and sitting on the outside veranda with drink in hand can't be beat. Cathy and her staff really impressed our family and friends.

Loved every minute of my small wedding. The food was amazing, the staff was fantastic. BYOB made it affordable. Bridgett made the whole thing go off without a worry or a hitch. We rented out the whole place for the weekend and had a fantastic wedding.

As a second wedding, we wanted a smaller and more intimate venue and Peter Shields Inn did not disappoint. It was so unique and you could not beat the location directly across from the ocean. It allowed us to have the best of both worlds - a beach ceremony and an amazing indoor reception. We chose the stationed reception and the food was delicious. Amy, the wedding coordinator, was with us every step of the way by answering all of our questions and assisting us with logistics. The staff was very professional and attentive - everything went smoothly. If you are looking to host a smaller wedding in Cape May, definitely consider Peter Shields Inn.
