Paella Valenciana is a catering business in San Diego, California. They have been the premier paella catering business serving San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, and Riverside counties since 1977. Juan Pomares is a native of Spain who brings his mother's Paella recipe alive for all to enjoy. Juan's niece, Tanya Rodriguez, now has ownership but provides the same authentic, unique, and delicious taste of Spain to southern California.


Paella Valenciana caters to wedding events from 25 to more than 1,000 guests. They cook everything from scratch at your venue so it is prepared fresh, and the aromas fill your celebration. Aside from the main Paella course, we also make mouthwatering appetizers and desserts. They can just provide the food and tapas or help you with party rentals, set up, staff, bartending, and even a Spanish guitarist. Whatever you need, they are here for you. Tanya and her team work with you to create a package that meets all your needs so you can have a stress-free experience.

Such a memorable meal!

Paella Valenciana catered our wedding back in May and four months later we are still getting messages from friends and family talking about the food and the whole experience! Many of our guests were from out of town and many never had Paella. I am so grateful to have found such a truly authentic Paella experience for our family to enjoy on our special day. Between the tapas and paella, our families were fully satisfied and had enough variety we didn't have to have any other food options. Value and quality are top notch for such an authentic and unique dinner experience!

We hired Paella Valenciana for our wedding and they were incredible. The food was absolutely delicious and our guests are still talking about it. We had the Manchego cheese and Spanish meatballs which were favorites during our cocktail hour. We then had three paellas for dinner and they were beyond tasty, plus having them cooking it fresh right at the venue for guests to see made it even more fun.

They were so helpful throughout the process and made sure everything was taken care of. They even recommended our wait staff for the evening who were so professional and organized.

We're already thinking of the next event we could have them cater! Thank you everyone for making everything so perfect!

My husband and I were absolutely thrilled with the delicious appetizers and paella from Paella Valenciana. Tanya was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. We had three different paella’s and a multitude of appetizers. All of our guests are still talking about how delicious the food was at the wedding! If you have Paella Valenciana cater – make sure you get the mushroom appetizer! My friends are still raving about them!! We also had the delicious sangria. You and your guests will LOVE having Paella Valenciana cater your event!
