We thoroughly enjoyed working with One Leg Up and they provided wonderful music on our wedding day! We came across One Leg Up purely by chance when we were walking through downtown Asheville and heard them performing outside a café. We love their mixture of jazz, gypsy jazz, and French café style music. As soon as we heard them playing, we knew that they had the perfect style that we were looking for at our wedding. My partner looked them up a few months later (as we started to plan our wedding). Our ceremony was outside in Asheville, NC in early November, so the weather was still warm enough for folks to stay outside and enjoy some cocktails. My partner, Matt, also worked with them on music selection; they played a few custom songs for us during the ceremony ("Here, There, and Everywhere" by The Beatles and "Somebody to Love" by Queen). The music was so beautiful and just perfect—a wonderful addition to our outdoor venue (The Farm: A Gathering Place). They were wonderful musicians to work with and we so appreciate their desire to play a couple of special songs for us during the ceremony. They also stayed to play for an hour or so right after the ceremony during our cocktail hour. Again, we are so grateful for their creativity, professionalism, and organization. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fun, down-to-earth, creative, jazz band for a wedding or other special events. Absolutely wonderful!

If you are planning an event that would benefit from great light music (slow swing, Latin Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, etc) then the band One Leg Up is your number 1 choice. We invited this band to play for 4 hours at our wedding reception and they did a great job. The choice of music, the sequence of slow and fast melodies, the quality of performance were just wonderful. Everybody was dancing at our reception including people who do not dance. Every single guest of ours made compliments to our choice of music at reception.
We all had a wonderful time. We are looking forward to invite this band again play for us. We are happy to give them the best recommendations.

It was our dream to have One Leg Up play at our wedding, and they were amazing! They fulfilled our dreams of the perfect wedding music and band and more! One Leg Up played the reception at my daughter's wedding during cocktails. They were outstanding! Steve Trismen and the guys offer something a little different with Gypsy jazz from the Django era and the attendees loved it! I continue to get thank you cards, emails, etc. raving about them. They are highly professional, reliable and a great value. I would absolutely recommend them for your event!

One Leg Up played our wedding in September 2013. We had checked them (and a few other band possibilities) out a few times at venues in Asheville. The music was perfect. Mix of lively and mellow, just right for both guests who just wanted to sit and talk with ambient music in the background and guests who felt like dancing. Everyone in the band was professional and cordial. Great flexibility in terms of timing, speeches, sound system usage, etc. Highly recommended.
