Oakley Country Club is a wedding venue conveniently located just outside of Boston in Watertown, Massachusetts with stunning skyline views. The club was founded in 1898 to provide a place to play sports and a gathering place for friends. The grounds feature a Donald Ross designed golf course, lush greenery and well-kept landscaping. Oakley Country Club is a newly renovated, elegant facility with quality amenities.

Facilities and Capacity
The Oakley Country Club ballroom sits on top of Strawberry Hill with floor-to-ceiling windows, a large center dance floor, and views of the golf course and Boston skyline. The club has separate areas for cocktail receptions with the same beautiful views. The ballroom seats up to 225 guests.

Services Offered
They can host your bridal shower, engagement party, reception and ceremony. Their services include: bridal suite, in-house bar, cake, event planning, and clean up. Their professional staff and experienced event planner will help design the wedding you envision. They take care of all the details so you can relax and enjoy your day.

History
In 1898. the Cambridge Golf and Country Club changed its name to Oakley Country Club. The original clubhouse was built and designed by Charles Bulfinch in 1808. A short time after the club was founded a young Scottish golfer came to America and redesigned the golf course and competed professionally. Donald Ross became a pro golfer and later a legendary course designer in the 20th century. Oakley Country Club is home to the first Donald Ross golf course in America. In 1963, the clubhouse was destroyed in a fire, but quickly rebuild to accommodate their growing members. The country club celebrated their centennial celebration in 1998 and continues to grow, expand and redesign to stay up-to-date and modern.

We had a great experience with Oakley Country Club. Ann was wonderful to work with while planning the wedding as well as on the wedding day. The staff was great as well. They set up the venue beautifully and switched the main room from ceremony to reception efficiently. They even were refilling water glasses after the bar was closed! We had a great time and would recommend the venue to anyone in the area looking for a wedding ceremony or reception venue.

We just had our wedding at Oakley Country Club 2 weeks ago and we were so happy with everything! Ann is great to work with and clearly knows what she is doing. She went above and beyond the day of the wedding (including helping me with the bobby pins in my hair during the reception!). We had our ceremony in the ballroom as well and due to our bands needs, we had to adjust the way that the ceremony was facing. Ann was right there with an idea that worked perfectly. The entire staff was great; we have heard nothing but good things about the experience from our guests. We were so happy at our food tasting as the food was delicious! A lot of times at weddings the food is just okay but this was some of the best wedding food we have ever had (a lot of our guests agreed!). The ballroom at the Club is beautiful as well as the golf course where we took pictures. Even though it was a little cloudy/rainy the day of our wedding, everything was perfect. We would fully encourage anyone looking to get married to check out Oakley Country Club for their venue.

First off, Ann is incredible (she's the planner who coordinates everything). She knows her stuff and is always one step ahead! She even buttoned up my bustle the day of my wedding!

The place is a gorgeous hidden gem. It has a view of Boston from the top of the hill and the main ballroom has huge windows and beautiful chandeliers. The food was incredible. My guests could also not get over how great the service was. The waiters came around so many times during cocktail hour and we're so accommodating.
The food was delicious. And the wedding cake came with the package (one less thing to worry about). It's from klondmeister and it was so good! People were going back for seconds. I cannot praise this place enough. Everything was perfect and so organized to the minute without me having to worry about anything.

Would highly recommend, especially since it was also a great value (and we had an open bar!)

We had both our ceremony and our reception at the Oakley Country Club and were so pleased with our experience. We worked directly with Ann Messina throughout the process, from our initial visit to the tasting to the wedding itself. Ann did an amazing job guiding us through the day, and she was very calm and kept us on schedule. She also recommended a DJ to us, Dan McCarthy from DM Productions, who was great. It was clear that he and Ann had worked together for many years, which was another thing that made the wedding go smoothly. Oakley took care of many details on the day of, including a favor table, the cake, and some additional decorations. We felt the value was very good for a venue that close to Boston, and the view was unbeatable!

We had a great experience with the Oakley Country Club, where we had our wedding reception this August! The function manager, Ann, was amazing to work with from start to finish - she was incredibly organized, down-to-earth, straight-talking, and flexible. She helped us plan an amazing reception within our budget, and made the day and week of the wedding stress-free by handling all the final details. The function room is beautiful (with lots of windows and a good-sized, central dance floor), the food was delicious, and our guests had a great time!

Oakley Country Club is a beautiful venue, with two walls full of windows, lush green golf course, and a view of the Boston skyline. The ballroom is gorgeous, and the food is incredible. You could cut the filet with a butter knife! But none of that compares to the amazing staff working this great venue. Ann, Morgan, and the rest of the staff at Oakley Country Club were absolutely stellar. I worked with Ann starting from my first visit of Oakley, and she was just fantastic. She patiently answered all of my questions throughout the year leading up to my wedding, and really helped to shape my vision for my wedding. She really took the time to understand exactly the feeling and atmosphere we wanted to create. While we brought the decor, she and her staff arranged everything in such a beautiful way that exceeded my expectations of how great the venue could look. We had some issues with running late for our rehearsal and the wedding (limo troubles) but she handled everything so professionally that everything still went off without a hitch. We couldn't be more happy with our decision to have our wedding at Oakley Country Club.

We had our wedding there in Sept. 2012. Ann at the Oakley Country Club was a pleasure to work with. She was incredibly helpful during the wedding, and made sure everything went smoothly. I had my ceremony on-site, and it went really well. I really liked this venue. We added uplighting from the DJ, and also got chair covers from linen hero. We got the flowers from Desi, whom Ann recommended. The room itself looked magical on the evening of the wedding. We had a 5pm onsite ceremony, and our reception started at about 6:30. Everyone thought the food was fantastic. The service was excellent. And location has a certain grace and warmth that I found to be very attractive. I'm really glad I had my wedding here.

Ann did an amazing job coordinating the whole event. She was very accommodating to our unsual and last minute requests. The food was spectacular, the service was great and the venu looked gorgeous and did i mention the food was great? Best of all, everything was very decently priced. Would happily recommend these folks to anyone and everyone

Oakley is VERY reasonably priced for the location. Anything in the Boston Metro area can be extremely pricey.

Oakley is a GREAT value and the grounds and function room are so beautiful. The view is amazing of the Boston Skyline and Ann is wonderful to work with.

Everyone raved that the food was not "wedding food". They have a wonderful chef and great menu.

From day 1, the club�s coordinator, Ann Messina, was amazing to work with! Always available for questions, she was so easy to communicate with and really had me at ease from the very beginning. Ann was so helpful during the tasting and final meetings and was on point the day of the wedding. She is so calm and totally on top of everything! Our reception could not have gone any smoother- I was so happy with everything. Our guests are still raving about the food and service. One thing I really loved was during our formal pics, a table of hor dourves and champagne/sodas was set up for the bridal party. It was a really nice touch and our bridal party loved it. Plus it was nice to have our own cocktail hour. The club grounds are gorgeous and we got so many beautiful pictures. The only thing I wasn't 100% happy with was that our pictures were supposed to be taken in one location but due to golfers playing had to be changed. Granted we didn't want to get hit by golf balls but I was a bit dissapointed. We did get amazing pics though and in the end it wasn't that big of a deal. I was really happy with our reception, it was wonderful. Did I mention the food was AMAZING? A lot of guests commented that it wasn't the usual "wedding food". The chef is incredible.
