History
The Newell Lodge & Resort began as a ranch dating back to the 16th century. This venue has been exclusively family owned and operated since it’s beginnings. The Carter family lived off the land by riding horses, fishing in nearby streams and go hunting throughout the pinewoods. The knowledge of horsemanship was passed down through the generations of the Carter family and today, this family still cares for and manages the ranch.
