I could’ve given Hunter way more stars then just five if it let me. We used Hunter as our “day of coordinator”for our daughter’s wedding, but she turned out to be way more. As soon as we hired her, she had monthly meetings to make sure things were organized and on track. Each month she’d give us a completion percentage. As my eyes got huge each time, she assured me that we were exactly where we should be! When the big day arrived, Hunter seemed to be everywhere, making sure every detail was ready! We stumbled across Opal and Slate Events through an Instagram giveaway. Although her services were free through the giveaway, Hunter displayed the utmost level of professionalism, timeliness, joyfulness, and expertise. My now husband looked forward to every meeting I had with Hunter, as he knew that Hunter would ease my nerves about deadlines and details I was antsy of. I was a mostly DIY-bride and consider myself a fair planner, but I cannot imagine not having a day-of-coordinator, especially one as incredible as her! Hunter makes it so easy to compartmentalize your planning through effective monthly meetings, and she will solve every snafu which arises DURING your wedding day. Every time we had an issue on our day, Hunter would say, “It’s ok! I got it handled”, and my husband and I would look at each other and say, “We love Hunter.” From organizing timelines, ensuring smooth communication with vendors, to even having clear umbrellas at hand for a rainy day, she has your back, and with a cheerful smile too. Again, Hunter didn’t have to go above and beyond for us, but she did, and it made our day all the more lovely and magical. If you’re on the fence about hiring a coordinator/planner for your special day, consider this a strong nudge towards doing so — you deserve it.

Having Hunter from Opal and Slate Events as our wedding coordinator turned out to be one of the best decisions we made in the entire wedding planning process! Opal & Slate Events’ team was accommodating to my work schedule and helped me with whatever lingering wedding items I had on my list before the big day. As soon as they jumped in, they made me feel so much calmer (& organized!!) and supported. They’re definitely experts, and went above & beyond my expectations. I was a DIY bride and picked out my vendors & decor myself, then asked Opal & Slate for support on day-of coordination. They were great at communicating with the vendors I had contracted, and I heard nothing but the best from my vendors about how prepared and professional Opal & Slate was to work with. The day our wedding came the venue space wasn’t completely event-ready, but Opal & Slate picked up where we left off (so I could go be a bride) and when I came back, I was AMAZED. They completely transformed our space with the decor items I had provided. I am not a decorator so their help with that was such a bonus for me! Our ceremony space was also our reception space, so Opal & Slate took the lead on flipping the space while we left and did family/wedding photos. Again, when we came back, the reception was BEAUTIFUL! Opal & Slate was great at supporting us that night and notified us discreetly of changes that had to be made (whether due to weather or lack of space, etc). They also wrangled a few of our more -let’s say “fun” - guests!! Overall, they were great from day one and provided more than excellent service from planning to day-of. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a planner or coordinator. And for those who are on the fence, trust me, it’s WORTH IT! I can’t imagine our wedding day would’ve been the same if they weren’t there with us.

Opal & Slates was the BEST decision I made in this whole process. As a self-proclaimed planner, I was hesitant to hire a planner, thinking I could do it all myself. Boy was I wrong! Reaching out to Hunter at Opal & Slate Events saved my sanity. Day of Coordination is SO much more than you realize ladies, and Hunter will guide you through it seamlessly! Making sure you check off all the items on the to do list to avoid dealing with headaches on your wedding day is a MUST. In addition to check-ins to make sure we were on track leading up to the day, Hunter handled communications with my vendors behind the scenes so I didn’t have to worry about who would be where, doing what, at what time. If I ever checked in, my vendors assured me “I’ve already discussed the details with Hunter”. Such a relief! Not to mention the little (metaphorical) fires here and there on wedding day. She was so calm and cheerful no matter what, there when I needed her, and made sure everything got done, looked good, and was on time. She polished rings, wrangled family and bridal parties, held my dress out of the dirt. You name it, she was ready. Cannot recommend Opal & Slate Events enough. They were ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! This was the biggest bang for my buck out of any wedding expense! My husband, bridal party, family, and even others were complimenting us on what a great job they did. Do yourself the biggest favor and call them today!

Hiring Opal & Slate was one of the best wedding decisions we made. When we hired Hunter, we were early in our wedding planning and very inexperienced. We knew getting help from a professional planner was a good idea, but hesitated if it was a necessity. I’m so glad we made the right call! She was so professional, many other vendors commented on how pleasant she was to work with. She is incredibly organized, hardworking, and downright enjoyable.
