We loved having Monuts as one of the dessert vendors for our wedding! We have been big fans of this restaurant and bakery since it opened and have many good memories of morning brunches there together since we started dating. It was easy to communicate with one of their owners, Rob, who quickly completed the paperwork required by our wedding venue and kept in touch with us about flavor options. They have an adorable 5-tier stand that fills up beautifully with their mini donuts- of which we got to pick 4 different flavors! Our guests raved about how unique and delicious the donuts were. As an aside- we always tell people how great the savory food at Monuts is too! Definitely go there to check out their rotating sandwiches, soups, salads, and more. All with fresh seasonal ingredients!

We decided early on that the wedding cake was not something in which we wanted to invest a fortune. We both love living in Durham, and decided that we wanted to feature something local. Our venue mentioned couples having cupcakes or donuts in the place of cake, and that was what we needed to make our decision- Monuts! Getting donuts from them for our wedding was a piece of cake (ha). It was easy to communicate with them about logistics and prices through email, and they delivered the donuts to our venue on the wedding day. They are also able to provide stands for the donuts and set them up, if needed. And as usual the donuts were delicious.

Monuts was, without a doubt, the best idea we had for our wedding! Wedding cake is so tired and traditional. A stand full of our favorite donuts, on the other hand? A super hit! The kids loved them, grandma snuck a few before dessert, and everyone had an amazing experience nibbling on our favorite donuts in Durham. Definitely don't shy away from Monuts if you're planning a wedding! You won't regret the boring cake-cutting tradition when everyone's raving about how awesome the donuts are.

I worked with Lindsay to create my idea of the best wedding cake ever - a gourmet donut display in the letters "C A K E." Working with Lindsay and the Monuts team was fairly easy - Lindsay was open to my idea and had great ideas herself! We met in person to initially brainstorm, then easily worked through email to handle the rest (flavors, logistics, etc.). The display was a delicious hit, and paired well with my "groom's cake" of individual dirt cakes that our main caterer created. Great local donut shop!
