Pastor John was so caring and thoughtful
From the very moment we met Pastor John, we knew we were in good hands. He was so caring and listened to our story, assisted us in choosing every detail of our ceremony. He has a calm and warm personality that makes you feel comfortable and at ease directly.Sent on 10/15/2019

Amazing Wedding Officiant
We were very happy with the services provided by Marry You in Hawaii. The company was swift to respond to any inquiries and made the process of hiring an officiant for our wedding stress free. We chose Pastor John Fuchigami as our wedding officiant, as he officiated my friend's wedding, and we really liked his "smooth radio announcer" sounding voice and his ceremony style. Prior to our wedding we were really happy to meet with him, and to get to know the person who would be officiating our wedding.Sent on 06/03/2020
Pastor John was professional and very easy to work with. We were able to collaboratively create a ceremony that represented us as a couple. He arrived promptly to our venue, and flawlessly officiated our outdoor wedding in the pouring rain and gusty winds. His cheerful and positive demeanor really helped to calm us despite the crazy weather. We would definitely recommend Pastor John and Marry You in Hawaii.
Marry You in Hawaii's reply:Aloha Carli! Thank you so much for your kind words! We were honored to be a part of your day and glad it was able to go off fabulously, even through the crazy weather! All the best to you both!

AMAZING! Felt like part of their ohana!
They helped us every step of the way through our Covid wedding!!
These are the kindest people EVER!! They really make you feel like part of their ohana!!! And I can never thank them enough for everything they've done for us! I found Marry You in Hawaii through our photographer who greatly recommened them and I can see why! Loren responded to my email quickly, she helped us though all the wedding legalities and kept in touch the whole way through. She genuinely wanted to get to know us and help make our wedding go as smoothly as possible, which it did--and we got married during Covid!!! Covid brought on alot of new restrictions and immediate changes; we literally ended up bumping up our date and had to get married in a brand new location and in less than twentyfour hours!! What would have been an extremely stressful situation was nothing of the sorts due to Married You in Hawaii's responsiveness, flexibility, and genuinely caring attitude! That next day Rev. Kimo was there at the new location ahead of time and completley ready to go:)
They seriously are the kindest people!! Rev. Kimo guided us through the whole ceremony and made our wedding day just so much fun!
Because of Covid we weren't aloud any guests, so, I video called my parents and "walked" down the aisle with my dad on my phone! Rev. Kimo asked "who gives this bride away?" And my parents answered through the phone "we do!"
This was seriously such a memorable and fun experience.
We were thrown some pretty crazy curveballs due to Covid, our wedding could have been such a disaster if it wasn't for Married You in Hawaii! Again, I will never be able to thank them enough for everything they've done for us, they are truly amazing.Sent on 09/04/2020

Pastor John Fuchigami
Pastor John Fuchigamiwas raised here in Hawaii and is serving as the Senior Pastor of Hope Chapel Iwilei. He’s been married to his beautiful wife, as of 2020, for 32 years and has three wonderful children.
Licensed through the State of Hawaii and has performed thousands of weddings since 2003, Pastor John is able to do a number of different wedding ceremonies to suit the needs and desires of the couple. Ceremonies include: Japanese weddings and vow renewal ceremonies; Hawaiian-styled ceremonies and vow renewals; Filipino/Catholic-styled ceremonies; traditional ceremonies; and more. Pastor John is very flexible when it comes to customizing a ceremony to suit the couple’s needs.
A musician at heart, wedding companies even book him to be a musician (ukulele or guitar) as well as a minister at his weddings!
One of Pastor John’s driving values, when it comes to performing weddings, is “No matter how many weddings I perform, I want to treat each one like it’s my first and only wedding.”
Maila Gibson-Bandmann is a Na Hoku Hanohano Award winning singer/songwriter/recording artist. She is half of the popular wedding music duo, Ben & Maila. Maila’s wedding experience dates back as far as the early 90s when she was in high school. She sang at her first wedding at the age of 15 for a friend’s sister and cried as the bride walked down the aisle even though she was practically a stranger. That’s the day a passion for weddings was realized.
Over the last few years, Maila’s wedding experience has grown from entertaining and emceeing to officiating. Maila is happily married and passionate about her own marriage and loves to bring that same sense of passion and commitment to her ceremonies. Maila was raised Christian, so it’s very natural to weave scripture and prayer into her ceremonies in a real, applicable, and light way. It is important to her to get to know every couple and to allow them to bring what’s important to them into their ceremony.
Maila lives in Honolulu, is a real estate agent, loves CrossFit, and loves to enjoy the outdoor island life as much as possible with her husband and Cocker Spaniels.

I was born and raised on Oahu and have a deep love for Hawaiian culture, language, and our natural resources. I have a B.A. in Hawaiian Studies and a B.A. in Hawaiian Language from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. One of my passions is Hula. I am a member of an award-winning Halau (hula group) and have danced Hula for over 15 years and have been trained in Oli (chant) for over 10 years. I truly love performing weddings, blessings, and vow renewals; however, I also work a full-time job with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) as a Land Management Specialist for our lands that have significant cultural and natural resources. I look forward to working with you…ALOHA!
