Markia was professional and super friendly! I was a bundle of nerves on my wedding day but through her easy going conversation and bubbly personality, I was put at ease on the morning of my wedding day. I used her services on more than one occasion which included my engagement pictures and bridal shower and I found her to be very flexible during a time that can be very hectic. The day of the wedding Markia had eight (8) clients that ranged in age from 28 to 90. She was able to address the various skin needs and comfort level of each woman and provide a result that each person LOVED! These grandmothers loved their fake eyelashes! LOL! Just to speak to her level of concern for me she would not apply my cranberry lip color until she was satisfied that I had eaten enough that morning. Once applied my makeup was bullet proof. I never reapplied! Markia styled my hair as well and was able reconstruct a style from Pinterest. I LOVED IT!!!

Markia is so sweet and very personable! I really enjoyed working with her through my trial and on my wedding day! She did exactly everything I wanted and I looked prettier than I imagined! Definitely would work with her again if I need hair and makeup done!

Markia came to my rescue for my wedding. I needed a hair stylist within less then a month of the big day and she was quick to help me. I can't say enough good things about her and her work. She gave me exactly what I wanted, walking me through the whole time making sure I loved it. She gave me tips and tricks for my hair which was great. She was so easy going and fun to be around. I would recommend her to any and everyone. She was a great person to work with. Thanks again Markia!

I hired Markia to do my bridal hair and makeup. I also gave my bridesmaids the options to get their hair and makeup done, but only my Matron of Honor and my mom accepted the offer. We all loved Markia, and loved her work. I knew, from the minute I walked into my trial with her, that she was going to be the woman for me! haha :) She just has a wonderfully friendly vibe, I immediately felt at ease around her. Which is a big deal when you are hiring someone to help you with your big day. She is funny and most importantly, talented! She listens patiently, will look at ideas you have on Pinterest, and also offer honest feedback. I had wanted to wear my hair down (for a wedding...end of May/early June...in VA Beach..haha) and she politely pointed out that it would be hot (boy was it) and that by the end of the evening, my hair wouldn't look very nice. We ended up going with an updo and I am so glad we did. The dang dress was heavy enough, and with the 80+ degree weather with 70% humidity...I was grateful my hair was up that evening. If I ever get the chance to have my hair and makeup done for an event, I will be calling Markia. Oh and her products all smell really good. lol :) I included pics below of my hair and makeup, my mom's, and my MOH's.

Markia was a God-sent. She literally picked up and rushed to me the morning of my wedding day after my original MUA became ill and could not make it. Not only did she save the day, but she made me up more beautifully than I imagined. Markia was so personable, professional, and SUPER accommodating. Although our encounter was not planned, I am so glad that she was my MUA on my wedding day, and I will DEFINITELY be using her services again.

From my very first communication with Markia, she was extremely professional and responsive. When planning a wedding, responsiveness is the first thing that will make or break a relationship with a vendor. I was planning my wedding remotely and only had 2 days in the Virginia Beach area to meet with approximately 6 vendors. Markia was able to work me into her schedule in order to do a hair/makeup trial, discuss pricing and agree on details. The trial went so wonderfully, I cancelled appointments with other vendors and hired her on the spot. When I wanted to incorporate an unusual concept for my hair pin, she researched options and came up with a way to make it work and it was fantastic on the day of. Not only is Markia extremely talented, goes above and beyond to make her clients happy and comfortable, she's fun to be with! My bridesmaids and I spent the whole morning joking and telling stories. Markia provided extra lip color, eye lash glue, powder, bobby pins and hair spray when she was done so we would be prepared for any eventuality. If you are looking for someone to do your hair and/or makeup for your wedding or other special event - stop looking and contact Markia. Seriously, you won't be disappointed.

Love, love loved my experience with Markia!! I have always had naturally curly untamed hair that I disliked- until now! Markia surprised me with taking my curls and doing simple yet elegant enhancements that stunned me and gained my confidence and love for curls! She made me feel comfortable in an unknown territory and allowed my inner goddess to shine! I am so thankful to have met her! And to top it off.... I asked for detailed instructions on how to do what she did... sure enough she sent the entire breakdown so I can get this look at home :) highly recommend her and her services for any event!
