Market Hall is an industrial chic wedding and events venue located in the Historic City Market of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina directly across from Moore's Square Park. Built in 1914, it was the city's first Farmer's Market! We honor that history with our in house chef inspired menu sourcing locally grown produce and ingredients. The space offers a blend of modern elegance with exposed brick, metal beams, raw wood, black chiavari chairs, market lights and cobblestone streets. Market Hall offers two different event spaces after acquiring 214 Martin Street, now called Park View at Market Hall.

Our Market View room can host up to 350 seated with a dance floor, and most weddings are 150 to 250. Our Park View room can host up to 150 seated with a dance floor, and most weddings are 75 to 125.

City Market, a collection of shops and restaurants, flourished from 1914 to the mid-1940s. Here, farmers from eastern North Carolina sold produce, poultry, seafood and home-baked goods. However, as supermarkets moved into the area, the old City Market closed in 1957 and turned into a furniture store in 1959. By 1980, the City Council decided to rehabilitate the Market and surrounding buildings. Joe Hakan and his son, Michael, bought and renovated the Market in the 1990s, allowing the space to come to life again. Ever since it has operated as catering, restaurant and event space.

We knew Market Hall was going to be our dream venue going into our wedding, but it ended up exceeding our expectations. The functionality, the communication between us and Jayne who was our venue manager (she's unbelievably amazing), it was just perfect. The pictures on the websites don't even do it justice, I wish I could add a million of my own pictures - it ended up being a true DREAM and we had no limitations. All of the vendors know the venue well, it was easy to find, I can't say enough good things about it. It was truly the best day of our lives that wouldn't have happened without the perfect venue! We know they had some bumps along the way when they changed management and made some changes to the venue itself, but every change they made was good - like including the bridal suite in the pricing, and hiring new, amazing staff - so 0 complaints there, like I've seen elsewhere. Go tour this venue today. I've noticed that their social media use is really ramping up and I really think they'll be THEE venue to book within the next couple of years - so get in while you can!Sent on 12/05/2018

Could not have gone any better !!
This Venue was perfect and well tended. We had guest from all over the country, so "flipping" the room work great. No one had to leave the building ! The cocktail hour while the room was being flipped was a great way for friends and family to catch up.Sent on 12/06/2018

Market Hall was the perfect venue to bring my Rustic Glam wedding to life. The upgrades made to the venues were an added touch and the bridal suite was absolutely perfect! The natural lighting, the market lights, and overall industrial feel of the venue provided so much character to my day! My team have worked over 20 events at Market Hall this year and it is one of our favorite Venues in Downtown Raleigh. It is a blank slate and brides get to come in and make it uniquely their own. Location is prime, right in the heart of downtown Raleigh, surrounded by Cobblestone streets. No better photo options around. The venue comes with tables and chairs, an on site manager, beautiful bridal suite and you have the flexibility of bringing in your own Caterer, all for a very reasonable fee for such a great location. The staff are knowledgeable, great customer service and response time, and are great team members to the wedding community. We highly endorse this Venue for weddings and events.
