    Most Perfect Venue

    We are so incredibly grateful for Laurel and everyone at Market Hall. While the venue itself is obviously beautiful, the people who work at Market Hall are what makes it extraordinary. Each member of the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, creative, and quick to solve any issue that arose. Beyond this, even a month after the wedding we are still getting compliments on the food that Market Hall provided. Market Hall made each step of our planning process incredibly seamless. The venue is worth every penny, and we will never stop recommending Market Hall and Laurel!

    Perfect!!!!

    WOW!! We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Market Hall in May 2023, and we cannot say enough good things about them!!! The venue and the staff were absolutely incredible. From the sales director Kristen and the account manager Samantha to the bartending and catering staff- everyone was beyond amazing. We felt so special on our wedding day, because of how attentive, helpful, friendly, and kind everyone was.

    Market Hall had EXCELLENT communication with us starting from the very first time we toured the venue. We really appreciated their email reminders/check-ins and communication throughout our planning process. We felt so supported! Management was always quick to return our e-mails anytime we had questions.

    Obviously, the setting of Market Hall in City Market, across from Moore Square, is breathtaking- but the building, furniture provided, and details (beautiful string lighting inside as well as in the streets surrounding the venue) are gorgeous as well.

    It was important to us to find a venue that had getting ready areas for both the bride AND the groom. Market Hall has 2 separate suites ON SITE, for both the bride and the groom. Not only do they provide space for getting ready- but they also provide drinks and lunch for the bridal parties before the event.

    As for the food- WOW! They make the best shrimp & grits that I have ever had. We received SO many compliments from our guests who shared that Market Hall has the best wedding food they have ever had. They have unique and delicious food/appetizer offerings that aren't your "typical" basic wedding food offerings- they were all so amazing and memorable.

    We have continued to receive compliments from friends and family who continue to share what a special and amazing experience they had here.

    Need to book here!!

    The whole evening was more than words can ever describe. I am sure that everyone says they would go back and do it again, but I truly enjoyed every minute of the day. From the bridal suit to the ceremony to the reception everything was fabulous!!!
    I want to say thank you!!! Thank you to each and every person that was involved with the planning/set up/catering/severing of our wedding. The staff was so happy and truly enjoyed being there their excitement and happiness was noticed by all the guests. Thank you!!!!

    Extremely flexible, affordable, and beautiful historic venue

    We booked Market Hall a while before the wedding and when we booked they were going through a leadership transition but they handled it very well. There was plenty of opportunity for new owners and new rules to disregard our previous agreements but they went over and above to accommodate what we had already been promised and then some. Great bridal showcases and open houses although we won a free uplighting at one of the showcases that they ended up forgetting to put in place the day of the wedding. Shoutout to Jayne for being accommodating and awesome. Food was excellent, literally the best chicken ever (so says my husband and many of the guests although I'm a vegetarian - which they were also did extremely well with the vegetarian curry option). Updated amenities like great bathrooms and awesome bridal suite looked great, fresh paint on the ceilings and interior and extremely great location for a downtown wedding.

    Great venue

    My daughter and her husband held their wedding and reception on the Park View side of Market Hall. Jessica and her staff did an amazing job. The set up and change over from wedding to reception was handled very quickly. All our guests loved the food and the service. The weather was perfect and we were able to take quite a few pictures in Moore Park across the street. There was another event on the Market View side, but it didn’t conflict with us in any way. I highly recommend this venue!

    Perfect Venue For Our Reception

    I would recommend Market Hall to any of my family and friends who are getting married in downtown Raleigh! They were phenomenal to work with. Kristen was our coordinator and she was so fast to reply, so helpful with her tips and recommendations, very friendly, VERY organized. She made the entire process of planning the wedding such a breeze! I fully trusted her and the rest of the Market Hall staff and they delivered excellent results the day of our wedding. We catered our dinner through Market Hall as well and all of our guests raved about how great the dinner was. The food was top quality. We did a plated dinner which I was nervous about timing was but the Market Hall staff provided great service. The drinks were great as well. Booking our wedding reception at Market Hall was the best decision we made for our wedding.

    Best Day Ever!

    We rented both the Park View and the Market View for our daughter’s wedding reception of 216 people on August 17, 2019. Our guests of all ages absolutely LOVED the venue and everyone enjoyed the freedom to flow between both rooms. The food and drinks were exceptional (everyone raved about the salmon and whipped potatoes), the service could not have been better, and the market lights and decor elevated the atmosphere to be celebratory, special, and free-flowing.

    Downtown Raleigh happened to be extremely busy the day of our reception. There were activities in Moore Park right across the street and a local restaurant/bar hosted a festival with live music near Market Hall. We were very concerned that the noise and activity from these events would be a distraction to the reception. Pete and Jayne from Market Hall and our DJ (Randy Bennett from Bunn DJ Company) did a remarkable job of protecting us from the outside noise. All of them understood the importance of this day in the life of our family and they made sure that our day was memorable for all the right reasons. Their attention to detail and problem solving skills helped make our event successful!

    We believe this is the premier downtown venue to showcase any event for people of all ages! Bravo Market Hall!! We give them the highest recommendation!!

    Great venue, cool downtown vibe!

    During our search for a wedding venue, we had a very specific idea of how we wanted our wedding to be. We wanted a place that didn’t feel like a wedding venue, had a cool vibe, and served as a complete package (food, beverage, dinnerware and drink ware, etc.). We knew we had a lot boxes to check so we started our search. After looking at 5 or 6 venues, we finally came across The Park View at Market Hall (formally 214 Martin Street). Jessica was very responsive to all our emails and during our first meeting was able to answers all of our questions and concerns. We chose to have both our ceremony and reception at The Park View, which was a little nerve wracking considering they would have to flip the room during cocktail hour after our ceremony. Jessica put our fears to rest and assured us that they had plenty of experience with doing exactly what we wanted. One of the best parts about The Park View is that they offered catering, bar services, dinner and drink ware. Linens were also easy because once you picked your linens through CE Rental they were added to the venue package. Throughout our entire wedding process, Jessica and The Park View staff was very responsive to all our questions and concerns. After our menu selection, we were 100 percent sure we had made the right decision because the food was delicious! After doing our final venue walk-through, Jessica was so great at making sure that we were handling all the wedding planning with ease and assured us that she was there if we needed anything, which was a great bonus. During our wedding, the flip from making the ceremony space into the reception space was done quickly and efficiently (even after we took all our family pictures at the alter). The space was able to be decorated beautifully with the help of our florist (Lilac Floral Decor). The service the night our of wedding was exceptional. Multiple people came up to us during our reception to tell us how amazing the food was-and we mean everything-from the chicken and waffle cones, bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp and grits and braised short ribs and the late night grilled cheese. Some people told us it was the best shrimp and grits they had ever had-and that’s a hard bar to live up to because they’re from Louisiana, home of cajun food! The only complaints we heard were that the beer wasn’t iced down initially during cocktail hour but that problem was resolved and that the bartender offered multiple people water before giving them a beverage (We’re sure they probably appreciated it the next morning though!) The cobblestone streets and market lights around The Park View were also a great addition to wedding pictures! Even though the venue went through a name change, menu change, and new chef during our wedding process, it did not affect our planning at all! The only suggestion we would have is creating an online portal so that you can manage your event and payment online. However, with that being said we are beyond pleased with Jessica and The Park View at Market Hall and would recommend The Park View to anyone in the future!

    Amazing Venue in Downtown Raleigh

    Market Hall was the most perfect venue for our wedding!! We had about 175 people attend and we used the Market View side. The space fit everyone perfectly without feeling cramped like other downtown venues can feel. The bridal suite upstairs was recently re-done and it is beautiful. The perfect spot to take some pictures and lounge around before the ceremony. Market Hall gave us something we really wanted but had a hard time finding: an outside ceremony in downtown Raleigh. We had our ceremony on the street right out front with city views all around. It was incredible. Since we had the street for the night, our guests were able to be inside and outside during the reception which was very nice as well.

    Jayne and all of the staff there were so incredibly helpful through the planning process. They accommodated all of our requests, responded quickly when needed and truly helped to make our wedding day the best day ever.

    If you're looking for a venue where you can really create your own vision, this is the space! I wish we could do it all again!

    Could not have gone any better !!

    This Venue was perfect and well tended. We had guest from all over the country, so "flipping" the room work great. No one had to leave the building ! The cocktail hour while the room was being flipped was a great way for friends and family to catch up.
    Food was out of this world great ! Bridal Sweet upstairs was perfect for the Bride and her Bridesmaids.

    Perfect venue!

    We knew Market Hall was going to be our dream venue going into our wedding, but it ended up exceeding our expectations. The functionality, the communication between us and Jayne who was our venue manager (she's unbelievably amazing), it was just perfect. The pictures on the websites don't even do it justice, I wish I could add a million of my own pictures - it ended up being a true DREAM and we had no limitations. All of the vendors know the venue well, it was easy to find, I can't say enough good things about it. It was truly the best day of our lives that wouldn't have happened without the perfect venue! We know they had some bumps along the way when they changed management and made some changes to the venue itself, but every change they made was good - like including the bridal suite in the pricing, and hiring new, amazing staff - so 0 complaints there, like I've seen elsewhere. Go tour this venue today. I've noticed that their social media use is really ramping up and I really think they'll be THEE venue to book within the next couple of years - so get in while you can!

    Stunning Venue

    Market Hall was the perfect venue to bring my Rustic Glam wedding to life. The upgrades made to the venues were an added touch and the bridal suite was absolutely perfect! The natural lighting, the market lights, and overall industrial feel of the venue provided so much character to my day! I was blown away by the staff as they made sure I had everything I needed to ensure my day went smoothly! Thank you all again!!

    We had my daughters reception at Market Hall. It is a beautiful venue that you can make look how ever you want. The lights are perfect and the cobble stone streets make it very pretty. Everyone was impressed with the way the venue look. Bar staff was great always ready with whatever the guests needed. Bride and groom were definitely impressed with the service they received. The only issue we had was June in North Carolina, the A/C did not keep up.

    We had a great experience working with Market Hall. They were very responsive and accommodating. The bartenders were great. Jessica even helped us out after we left something in the bridal suite and we got it back a couple weeks later.

    We loved having our wedding at Martin Street! It is a beautiful venue with so much history behind it. It is difficult to find a venue in Raleigh that checks off so many boxes, wheelchair accessible, onsite catering, ceremony and reception at the same place, event staffing, an all-inclusive rental price, onsite event manager, etc. The location is truly walking distance from hotels downtown which was a huge bonus for us and our guests. It was also nice to have our ceremony and reception at the same place. If you are planning on having your wedding here and you are concerned about them flipping the room during the cocktail hour, don't be worried. The room flip was fast and quiet. They even have curtains that close so you cannot see the room being flipped. It is very discreet. Jessica also went through several drafts of event layouts with us as our guest count increased and then again decreased. If you are thinking about booking this venue, just go ahead and book it. Tour it, book it and be done. By the time you sit down and figure out the cost per guest and all of the perks that come with the location in comparison to other venues you might have missed out on a great opportunity.

    The bridal suite was a nice addition and it was nice not to worry about the travel aspect of getting ready. One less thing on your plate and a nice place to take photos!

    Jessica and her team really worked to make the event special for us and the guests all raved about the food and how beautiful the venue was. We were able to customize our menu, the bar, bring in our own decor, bring in our own cake, etc. Jessica coordinated with all of our other vendors and I felt reassured that everything would go smoothly. We also had two vegetarians and two individuals with shellfish allergies and each meal was made and delivered to those with dietary restrictions/allergies without an issue.

    I can't say enough nice things and I have nothing negative to say about our experience with this venue!

    We used Market Hall as our wedding venue. It was on a Friday in December. The trees were still beautiful fall colors! Everything just looked beautiful. The bartenders took care of our guests. Everyone was in awe of how beautiful the venue was. It was the perfect day!! Thank you everyone at Market Hall for being so accommodating and for working with us every step of the way.

    Booking 214 Martin Street was absolutely the best wedding decision we made. Our day was perfect from start to finish, and Beth and the 214 Martin Street team played a large role in making that happen. Throughout our planning, Beth was a constant and patient help. She never got annoyed with any of my many questions, and answered them pretty much right away whenever I emailed. On our wedding day, Beth was there every step of the way making sure we had everything we needed. 214 is also a great value. The price of food and services can't be beat. Literally. It was the most reasonably-priced of all the venues we looked at in the Raleigh-Durham area. The food was absolutely delicious. Our guests raved about it. And the venue itself is so beautiful and has a lot of character, but not in a way that is overpowering. We were still able to add our own character and make the space our own through our decor choices. I loved having our wedding here, and I fully recommend this venue.

    We just loved this venue and their staff. We used Beth Early as our wedding coordinator and she was awesome. She was very efficient and prompt to answer phone calls and emails. We usually had a return message within hours or early the next day. This took away a lot of anxiety and our event rolled out perfectly. The space has an urban yet modern feel. The food was excellent and the bar service was quick and friendly. I can't think of anything that I would change or offer up as something to do better. It was just a wonderful time and our guests truly enjoyed themselves.

    Market Hall is beautiful and the staff, especially Brenda and Kara are amazing! They are great to work with and quick to response to any questions. I had my wedding there and everything was perfect! The cobblestone and brick make for a great background for pictures. I would definitely recommend Market Hall! Thank you Kara and Brenda for being so awesome!

    We LOVED having our wedding reception at 214! Beth was so incredibly helpful throughout the whole process, including helping us get all our decorations set up because there was an event the night before and our reception started at 11 a.m. the next day. We have received rave reviews from friends on the food (it was a brunch menu), and we loved it too! We have gluten free family members, and vegetarians, and they were incredibly accommodating to help us make sure all our guests would be able to eat. The sound acoustics in the space were great, and you don't need much in terms of decorating because the space is clean and classic. We definitely recommend this space!

    As soon as I walked in to Market Hall, I knew it was the perfect place for our wedding ceremony and reception! The staff were super easy to work with, easy to get in contact with, and very helpful figuring out the layout of everything. It's a beautiful venue, you won't be disappointed! Compared to some of the other venues around, it's a great place for brides on a budget!

    214 Martin Street was wonderful to work with! Beth was so responsive and accommodating to everything we requested. We utilized their catering services at a venue in Hillsborough, NC and were very happy with the results. We received many compliments on the food and particular compliments about the ice cream sundae bar, which was very popular! It was definitely worth it--Howling Cow ice cream is delicious. I would highly recommend working with this company for your catering needs--and definitely also schedule a tasting with them beforehand.

    214 Martin helped make our wedding better than we had envisioned. The staff was very helpful throughout the planning and day of preparation. The food was phenomenal. We've had so many guest say it was one of the nicest & classiest weddings they've attended. Much thanks to 214 Martin and all of the wonderful staff.

    LOVED working with 214 Martin Street for our wedding! We had ceremony/cocktail hour/sit-down dinner/reception for 160 guests. Both Beth from 214 Martin and Brea from Showtime (who they work with for extra furniture, draping, inside market lighting, etc.) were great to work with, very responsive and flexible, everything went exactly as planned. The flip between ceremony and reception went very smoothly.

    Food was AWESOME, had great feedback all around on our entree choices - filet, salmon, chicken. More than half our guests requested the filet and each one was a perfect medium rare. Super happy with how quickly everyone was served, not a huge wait from the first to last tables as can sometimes be the case at weddings. Recommend the ham biscuit and bacon-wrapped scallop hors d'oeuvres. Catering is in-house, chef did an amazing job!

    The venue itself has lots of personality, made for great pictures inside & out! Inside there is a 2nd-floor area which was great for the men to hang out in before the ceremony and then for a 2nd bar area for the rest of the evening. The streets surrounding the building are cobblestone with market lighting above.

    A couple things to consider -

    214 Martin shares it's back wall and bathrooms with another venue, Market Hall. There was an event going on in the other space on the night of our wedding. We didn't have any issues at all with the bathroom sharing although a couple guests who were seated along the back wall for dinner said they did hear music from the other event.

    There is only the 2nd-floor area that can be used for either bride or groom getting ready (if having ceremony there) and there are a lot of windows in the venue - which we loved! - but these factors require some logistics for bride and groom arriving, getting pictures and not seeing one another before the ceremony.

    We loved 214 Martin and could not have asked for a more perfect night at this cool, downtown Raleigh venue!

    Beautiful Venue! We loved having our reception here. It was a hit. We added the globe lights to mirror the ones outside in the cobblestone streets and it was perfect.

    214 Martin and Beth were great to work with! The space looked better than I thought it would on the day of the wedding and the wait staff was extremely attentive and professional. I had guests comment on how quickly things were served and the high level of attention they recieved.

    Market Hall is a lovely place to have ANY event! Kara and Caroline are attentive, flexible, and eager to please! Historic City Market is walking distance to everything in downtown Raleigh and has a unique and romantic feel. I've already recommended this space to several brides and will continue to sing its praises!

    214 Martin Street was the perfect place to have our wedding reception! Beth was so, so accommodating with when we could use the Mezzaine and different changes that were made. She responded quickly to emails and made the whole thing flow smoothly.
    We had a small issue with some of the kegs running out towards the end of the night, but there were still plenty of alcohol for guests to enjoy. They say that the venue can fit 180. We had 135 and felt that it was the perfect amount. It can definitely fit the full 180, it would just be a tight squeeze.
    Overall, the venue was beautiful, the location was exceptional, and the staff was so great! The food was tasty as well!

    Market Hall was a perfect place for our wedding. We love the old country feel of this space and City Market in general. Our photos are amazing:) We did rent some market lights to make it a bit cozier inside---which Kara and Caroline loved so much they told us they planned to buy some to have for all of the brides. It was super reasonable---we were on a budget so we decided to use their tables and chairs--which were new and nice. If you want a wedding downtown--this is the best possible space...our guests were able to walk from the Marriott and it was wonderful. These guys are great to work with!

    Wonderful Experience at Market Hall

    My husband and I had our wedding reception at Market Hall this past weekend and I can't even begin to tell you how amazing it was! MH was the first venue we toured together based on a friend's recommendation and we knew immediately because of the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and the beauty of the space that we wanted to have our reception here. The food is EXCELLENT and the service far exceeded my expectations! Audrey even helped us locate my parents' favorite wine from a supplier to serve at the wedding! Also, my mom and a groomsman have severe nut allergies so MH completely swept the space to ensure there were no nuts on the property the week of the wedding. We have several friends and family members with dietary restrictions and they all felt greatly cared for by the venue. Market Hall went above and beyond for us and we are so grateful! Do not hesitate to book this space for your wedding.

    Amazing wedding and planning

    These guys and girls rocked our wedding night. They seriously made sure everything went smoothly and it would not have been the same without them. I cant speak highly enough of Kristen Leen and the team that she's working with! Thank you all soo much for everything you did.

    This was a terrific venue! We used half the room for the wedding (100 guests) and had the other side of the room completely set up for the reception. It was both convenient and comfortable for our guests. The cobblestones and historic buildings in the area made a beautiful backdrop for pictures. The staff was easy to work with and really put in extra efforts to make the day perfect! (Thank you, Brenda!)

    My husband and I wanted a reception venue that had great bones, but was more of a blank slate -- something that was 'our style' while at the same time allowing us to shape the space into whatever theme/scene/idea we wanted, and we found that with Market Hall. I'll be honest and say that the string lights scattered throughout the inside of the space really won us over, too. The Market Hall team were great to work with -- Kara even made sure that we knew about a sudden opening on our preferred date the moment it became available! During the planning process, we worked mostly with Brenda -- she was very kind, had some great ideas and suggestions for the space, and was on top of the logistical needs for the day-of. The space was clean and ready to go when we arrived to set up the day of the wedding. The bathrooms are spacious and nicely redone, WiFi was free and available to all, and the staff in attendance in the day of were very helpful! Donnie was our day-of contact and was punctual, kind, and very helpful in getting decor set up in the reception space. The bar staff slung great drinks all night (thanks, guys!) and were a pleasure to work with. As we had rented Market Hall before the completion of the bridal suite upstairs, it was included in our rental and was not an extra cost for us (otherwise I may not have opted for it from the beginning). I will say though, that this bridal suite was awesome! Very well-decorated with tons of natural light -- a GREAT space for applying makeup, etc. There's plenty of room to move around without feeling crowded. I highly recommend this space for any couple wanting a space they feel they can make their own, and especially for couples with a large guest list!

    We had to last-minute change our venue for our wedding and I could not be more happy how things worked out. Switching venues weeks before our big day was stressful enough but 214 Martin really helped make the process worry-free. They were able to accommodate our needs, meet our budget, and allow for set-up time. I really appreciate all that they did for us and highly recommend them as a wedding venue. The space is clean, recently updated, and a perfect size for a 120+ person event!

    Beautiful Venue, Great Location

    My husband and I originally booked the Market View room but after postponing and deciding to downsize our wedding due to COVID, we ended up booking Park View. As I'm sure many reviews will mention, the wood wall and iron staircase in Park View are beautiful statements on their own but also so much fun to add your own flair to when choosing your own decor. The surrounding cobblestone streets and shops and Moore Square make for great photos too.

    My husband and the groomsmen ended up using the bridal suite instead of me and my bridesmaids but I hear the light lunch and drinks provided on the day of were fantastic. Our guests also complimented us on the quality of food and beverage options during our cocktail hour and reception.

    The venue is also ideally located near several bars, restaurants, and hotels so my husband and I didn't feel obligated to book transportation for our guests. It was also convenient when planning where to have our rehearsal dinner and where to go after our time at the venue came to an end.

    Loved having my wedding at Market Hall! It's such a unique wedding venue, which complimented my husband and I's personalities. Brenda and Kara were very accommodating and helpful! The space is a blank canvas which lets you make your wedding your own :)

    Market hall was a great price and extremely accommodating of our vision! I can safely say I am sure we made the right venue choice. The upstairs suite was invaluable for us, as well; it's a beautiful space and made a lot of plans much easier to coordinate. The space is big, too! I heartily recommend Market hall.

    My wedding turned out beautiful and I don't really have anything to complain about. 1 minor thing - when we went in for the tasting we selected 4 entrees (per their form), and when we got there they didn't have one of the options. I think it would have been best practice if they had replaced it with something similar so we at least had another option to select from. Again, it was minor, and honestly the food we picked was phenomenal (so many compliments from all of our guests), so its nothing to be cranky about - just a suggestion for them if it happens in the future. They were very friendly and professional and always answered any of our questions very quickly. I appreciate the venue and all the staff there, thank you for adding to my amazing wedding day!

    Historic, all-in-one venue

    We used Market Hall for both our ceremony and reception, and we're happy with how it all turned out! As many others have experienced during this time, our wedding was postponed and downsized. We insisted on staying at Market Hall and we're glad they ended up working with us through all of the changes. Josh was extremely helpful during crunch-time and helped ensure our day was just as special as it would've been otherwise.

    The venue itself is in a great location downtown, and has the perfect balance of historic and modern touches. We opted for renting both sides of the venue as it was nice having both the extra space and having both bridal suites to get ready in. Having on-site catering was also a big plus, and the food was amazing – we highly recommend the chicken and waffle cones! It really is an all-in-one venue, which helped make our day that much more effortless.

    Loved Getting Married at Market Hall!

    We booked Market Hall (specifically Park View) for our October 2019 wedding, and we are so happy we did. The location is fantastic and the vibe and aesthetic of the venue was exactly what we wanted for an industrial and modern feel. One of the pluses with Market Hall is the PHENOMENAL onsite catering--everyone was telling us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. We would 1000% recommend booking their onsite catering if you get married here--they were also very accommodating with different dietary restrictions and needs! Jayne was also fabulous to work with. The only negative from us would be their onsite portal for booking; however, they changed the system a few months before our wedding to a better one so you should have no issues!

    What a beautiful space! Market Hall was the reception venue for our daughter's wedding. The Edison lights within the venue come included in the rental price as do the tables, chairs and the cocktail tables. The bridal suite was an added bonus for the wedding party to store their personal items. The roomy, tidy bathrooms were a bonus for our 150 guests. The flooring inside was perfect for dancing so no additional rental needed! The space was large but inviting with the painted brick walls. Our guests had plenty of room for dancing, eating and visiting! Jessica Travis was a dear to work with especially after only getting our account a few weeks prior to the event. She made sure all our needs were met and went above and beyond to get the venue space ready opening even earlier than expected! The staff on site and prior to the reception accommodated our needs and worked to make sure our evening went as we had hoped. Thank you to Pete, Jessica and the entire staff for a wonderful experience!

    Market Hall is a great venue with a lot of potential for someone to create any backdrop they wish on their wedding day. There were a few hiccups from booking to the wedding day as the person I dealt with to view and then sign the contract no longer worked at the venue by the time my run through and final planning was taking place. However, once I was able to get in touch with the right person, she was nothing but helpful and organized. It is a slight inconvenience that you have to purchase alcohol through them and it's per person over 21 (regardless if that person drinks or not), but the bartenders and alcohol service was great. The venue is a bit pricey for being such a blank canvas, but at least it comes with most of the tables and chairs you should need. Overall I would definitely recommend someone taking a look.

    Market Hall was great for our wedding reception. They are very easy to work with and accommodating for any special requests you have. The large space was great for our 160 guests, and we could have easily fit more.

    The space, the catering, and the service were all wonderful. The only thing I wish we had set up before hand was a little place to change in the upstairs room.

    The venue itself is beautiful and I was very happy with how my wedding turned out. We were on the fence about Market Hall and another place but Kara offered us an amazing price. So for what we paid, it was so great. They were also accommodating with the bar because we knew not everyone on our guest list would be drinking. That was really awesome!

    However, we had so much trouble with getting responses back, especially towards the end. We asked for a breakdown of costs since a month before the wedding and even after asking probably 5-6 times, we didn't get a response until the DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING. We paid the last deposit literally hours before the rehearsal dinner. Not sure why that was so difficult, but that really hurt our experience with Market Hall.

    Really wished we could give all five stars because our wedding ended up being very beautiful.

    Security staff Bully the Guests

    Security staff bullied the guests during the social after the bartender refused to serve double drink to a guest on her discretion while serving same to others. Thanks to Host that intervened and bigger mess was avoided.

    Market Hall is a beautiful venue. We chose it because my daughter and her (now) husband attended church in that building before the church moved. We were pleasantly surprised that the manager made sure to hold a parking space specifically for the couple on the wedding day. (Do be warned, parking is horrible around the venue, and we were told one parking deck was available, and it was actually closed, which created many problems for guests) Email response time was good for all my questions and concerns as we approached our big day. I didn't care for having the venue for 9 hours only. We really needed all day to prepare, it was a tight squeeze and we felt rushed before the ceremony. I was extremely disappointed in the air conditioning. Many guests complained that it was hot inside. One of our big desires was to have a summer wedding, but indoors, so we didn't have to worry about the weather. Unfortunately, it was pretty toasty in our venue. And the bridal suite - it was unbearably HOT! Please do not book the bridal suite in the summer. I was shocked at how miserable it was in there! We had visited the venue at least 3 times before the wedding, and every time the bridal suite was too hot. Even in March. And we were always told that they were working on getting the AC adjusted correctly. Our Market Hall manager tried to help us with the temperature, but told us there was nothing he could do. I did not like having to use them for our alcoholic bar package. I would love to have used Rocky Top for that instead. The bar manager gave us wrong pricing, was on vacation when we had questions, and apparently no one else could help. (But the 2 bartenders were very nice!) We did appreciated the security guard who was available the entire time. Very nice man, and it made us feel safe knowing he was there.

    I originally paid Showtime events to host my August 30th wedding at their new venue in downtown Raleigh, 214 Martin Street hooked to Cobblestone Hall. 214 Martin Street has been delayed since January 2014 and is yet to complete. Likely due to only 2 -3 staff working on the construction that didn't start until July! In July I was told I had to move venues as 214 Martin would not be ready. The new location was a good backup plan but outside of downtown. Showtime Events did help to compensate for the move mainly due to logistics of moving venues & location. Showtime events did host the event for me at the new location. While visiting the new location on multiple occasions, it was warm during each visit. Showtime Events assured me it would be cool and set to 65.
    This was not the case on my wedding day, it was very warm! From the moment my setup crew arrive & guest arrived at the cocktail hour, it was warm. The AC was not working properly and the temperature was between 80-84 degrees. Next to food poisoning my guest, having a hot venue with no AC could be the next worst thing to have happen. This is something that made every single guest uncomfortable. My cake even melted due to the heat.

    I did a lot of the wedding DIY and put so much effort into get every single detail to tie together with the decorations. I couldn’t even count the number of hours and effort I put into the event. I had over 35 boxes of stuff to bring over to the venue for the event. It was so upsetting to spend that much money and work that hard for the wedding to have it warm. Nothing was done the during the wedding to re-mediate the heat and make my guest more comfortable except 1 tiny fan. They needed to bring multiple large stand up fans!

    Few other big flaws:
    Ran out of Silverware ( guest had to wash in the bathroom), Ran out of bar glasses, warm drinks, unfriendly staff ( although it was hot), Ran out of topping for Taco bar, 1 bartender couldn't make cocktails
