I’ve booked Major Crush Photography for several major events and will continue to do so forever! Carina is unbelievably talented and an absolute gem of a person. I sought Carina out because of her equally gorgeous editorial work - I detest stuffy, generic, unflattering event photos and wanted a cooler, natural, and more elevated feel. She understood my wildly varying briefs (a bachelorette, disco soirée, and baby shower) and nailed it every time. Her attention to detail and artistic eye are unmatched - you simply have to work with her. If you’re looking for a non-traditional (in the best way) wedding or event photog, you have to work with Major Crush.

Carina came through for us, sort of last minute, for an elopement in the Catskills. I wanted someone who could do film photography, but would help us avoid the cheesy, traditional stuff. And she nailed it! She was a clear communicator, worked with us on the stuff we had concerns about, and was prompt with everything. She made us feel comfortable, even though we're both awkward in front of the camera, and our photos turned out even better than we'd hoped. She's also just super cool to have around, and that was important since we had such a small group of guests. We hope to use her again for maternity photos.

Carina has a natural talent for making you feel comfortable and looking good, which is such an important part of the process!! Her photos are beautiful and unique which is exactly what we were looking for. She is highly skilled in both film AND digital and we really couldn't recommend working with her enough. If you want someone to capture your day in a creative and beautiful, this is the option for you.

I am devastated by how my elopement photos turned out, to be honest. There are several photos that are just of our backs or awkwardly zoomed into random objects. The photo of our hands is so out of focus you can barely see my wedding ring. The photo of us in the street could have been really great but it is so dark and grainy that when I inquired about getting it printed (not with the photog), I was told that it would be pointless to make a print larger than a standard 4x6 photo because of the low resolution and darkness.

I am at a loss. Carina was really nice day of the wedding. At the end of our 3 hour appointment we offered to take her to get food and drink at a friends bar and insisted several times that we wanted to pay her for her additional time and asked what the rate would be. She kept saying "no, don't worry about it". That didn't feel right to us so we sent her an additional $300 and paid for her food and drink at the bar. A few days later, she sent an additional invoice for $750. She offered to put the additional $300 we sent her towards it but mentioned if we loved the photos she would appreciate another tip. Sorry but whatttt? We gave her several opportunities to make us aware of what her additional pricing would be. I would never want to take advantage of someone's time or labor- but we should have been given the courtesy of being made aware of what the pricing is so that we could make an informed decision about how long to extend the session.

When I emailed her to let her know I was really upset over the photos, she offered to exchange some of them... but when I sent her an email detailing what I didn't want (photos of strangers at the bar, photos of our backs, photos of me looking like a windblown disaster, photos that were drastically edited leaving my face clownishly white against a red backdrop, photos with resolution so low that printing wouldn't be possible) she obviously was angered by that and then rescinded her offer to provide more photos and wished me luck with a reshoot with another photographer.

Brides- would you really want a photo of yourself being blasted by a gust of wind like the one I have posted? lol I doubt it. ***EDIT: These photos have NOT been cropped, edited, or altered in any way. I have uploaded exactly what the photographer delivered to me.***
