The Lyman Estate is an elegant wedding venue located in Waltham, Massachusetts. This historic mansion sits on a 37-acre private estate with many options for wedding locations. Not only do they provide many options for locations, but the estate gives exclusive use of the mansion and the grounds for your wedding day. Here, you can celebrate in style and comfort with the knowledge that your special day is just between you and your loved ones. The house was designed in 1793 for shipping merchant Theodore Lyman, and the estate remained in the Lyman family for more than 150 years.
Facilities and Capacity
Lyman Estate can accommodate up to 225 guests. This venue is flexible in its available spaces, which can be used for pre-wedding showers, rehearsal dinners, ceremonies, and receptions. Their locations include a garden, a covered veranda, a library, a dining room, and historic parlors. A get-ready suite is also available, offering a sophisticated and private space where the to-be-weds can finish their preparations in the company of their nearest and dearest. Parking can be found on-site, adding convenience for those who drive to the event.

A special thank you to Nicole who coordinated everything and who truly went above and beyond to make sure our day went perfectly. She was incredibly kind, organized, and attentive throughout the entire process. We were especially grateful that she even took some photos for us, which was such a thoughtful touch.

Outdoor Wedding at the Lyman Estate
On the day of our wedding Nicole and Louise were there and helped everything run so smoothly and perfectly down to the tiny little details like helping bridesmaids recurl their hair before the start of the ceremony. They made sure we had everything we needed the entire time, plus all the things we didn’t know we would.
We have gotten so many compliments on our wedding and how amazing it was and how beautiful the venue was. We cannot recommend the Lyman estate enough- the venue speaks for itself and the staff are so attentive, helpful, and make you feel so taken care of and comfortable through the planning process and on the day of!

April 2025 Wedding
I will add this venue was especially great for us because we wanted people to be able to walk around and enjoy different spaces and not have their only option for after dinner to be to sit in one room with music blasting so loud they can't even talk to each other. The Lyman more than fit that bill! All of our guests were able to have fun from the young adults to the elderly.
Our organization had a gala fundraiser at Lyman Estates, which offers the warmth and ambiance of an elegant home.

The Lyman Estate is among the most charming venues in the Boston area and their event coordinators do an incredible job running things smoothly. One of the times I worked there (the bride was a direct descendent of Theodore Lyman) an unexpected squall rolled into town just before the outdoor ceremony was supposed to begin, the venue had things set up in a tent in no time and the whole event didn't miss a step. They have always done a great job taking care of clients and it's a pleasure photographing weddings there.
I recently had the pleasure of being the DJ and MC for a wedding at the Lyman Estate on July 20, 2013. The entire staff at the Lyman was fantastic to work with. The venue itself as a whole offers a variety of options for its customers from being able to have an outdoor ceremony, a cocktail hour on the patio, and dinner either inside our outside. As a DJ, I was very happy to see there was more than ample room inside for dancing and a separate area where guests could take a quick break for coffee and desert. The venue had some recent updates, most notably to the HVAC system which allows for great air conditioning meanwhile maintaining the feel of nostalgia. The building was erected in the 1700's. The venue is conveniently located near Boston and a few major highways and has ample parking. I respectfully and overwhelmingly endorese this venue.
