Our experience with Melissa was wonderful from start to finish. She is not only a consummate professional, but also a stellar human being we felt a personal connection with. She stood out immediately as NOT operating with a “one size fits all” approach. My husband and I felt seen and heard by her, both through the successes, challenges, and certainly, the unexpected fires that needed to be put out in the weeks, days, and even hours (!) leading up to our wedding.

She always met me where I was at as a bride. When I was anxious, she offered reassurance, when I wanted to be in control, she followed my lead, when I ran out of steam or felt paralyzed with indecision, she offered options and solutions, and when I was truly “over it,” she filled gaps and met needs without involving me at all. We laughed a LOT; she always provided levity exactly when we needed it.

She truly embodies what it means to go above and beyond. She stepped in to help my mother in law, who lives on the east coast, plan and execute our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. She saved us a ton of money by connecting us with her network of resources, including an AMAZING florist we never would have found on our own. She offered to pick up and drop off our decor rentals, saving us HUNDREDS, and did not hesitate to hop in the car at 10:30pm to pick up our late-night cheeseburgers from Dicks Drive In. As someone who often struggles to relinquish control, accept help, and fully trust in others to get the job done, Melissa was an exception. I trusted her fully to execute and make our vision come to life, and she did.

We can't recommend Melissa (“Mel”) of Little Blue Bird Events highly enough. From start to finish she was professional, calm, and incredibly experienced — a steady presence during the entire planning process. Mel handled every issue quickly and discreetly so that neither me, the bride, or groom ever had to worry on the day of the wedding. Her support went well beyond logistics: she encouraged us, patiently educated us through decisions, and offered fantastic creative ideas and trusted vendor recommendations. For the investment, she truly exceeded our expectations and helped deliver a flawless wedding in Seattle. If you want someone who will manage everything with competence and grace, choose Mel.

Working with Mel was a great experience! We went with her middle of the road planning package which provided us with a great packet with a very extensive check list, and planning details tabs, including the ceremony details, reception details, an Inso page, our seating chart, all of our vendors information in one place, to do lists to keep us on track. It also included a venue tour with a meeting that followed after, unlimited texting for all of our questions, help trying to find vendors when we were struggling to find what we wanted, multiple other check in meetings throughout the process. Nearing the wedding date my husband and I were both feeling very stressed that we hadn't done enough and hadn't done enough and Mel got on a call with us and talked us off the ledge. Day of I made some final changes to a few things that we had discussed previously and she took it in stride and she got every detail correct with how we envisioned the setup of everything. She did a great job keeping us on schedule and on track throughout the day which was great with having such a large wedding (over 200 people) so many things could've gone wrong and not a single one did! She also was very helpful with things like having her assistant pick up our late night snack which was McDonalds and was a major hit, helping us schedule our car and getting us to the right places at the right time. Working with Mel and Little Blue Bird Events was a breeze and I highly recommend them for any events moving forward!

Mellisa was an outstanding planner and coordinator for our wedding. Walking into planning I was completely clueless and overwhelmed, Melissa was so helpful and knowledgeable and made the whole experience much easier and less stressful. At the beginning of the planning process I was a very indecisive and nervous bride. Melissa set our minds at ease though all the planning, and made wedding planning fun and exciting with her excellent advice and expertise. She is professional, empathetic and really responsive when reaching out.
She helped make our big day special and memorable, and we can't thank her enough for the amazing job she did.

Melissa did a fantastic job! We couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator, she thought of everything and I didn’t have a single worry the day of our wedding.

Mel was a great coordinator ! She helped me completely stay stress free during my wedding and managed everything. Everything was well organized and she was able to manage all the vendors.

She was amazing and always available and did what she promised. Definitely worth it.

I hate writing negative reviews but I feel responsible to warn other brides that I had a really disappointing and stressful experience with Melissa. Our first meeting and contract was proming, but she failed to deliver on many if the things we agreed to in writing.

In addition, 2 days before our wedding, she sprung a surprise cost on us to hire her teenage son as an "assistant" for 5 hours of the day. We had agreed to hire him to help with daycare for 3 hours at her recommendation. She mentioned in passing that she wanted to train him to help with events so it would be helpful to have him there and assist her with other things. When she asked for twice the rate we agreed to for him, we told her that was not in the contract and had never been raised by her before. She admitted this and wrote "it was negligent on my part" and then apologized for not telling us the rate sooner, but insisted we pay him that rate or he would not provide childcare. So she sent us a new contract she wrote 2 days before the wedding. We didnt have the time or energy to find anyone else for childcare in the middle of our family wedding activities that already began so we just agreed to a new contract with her son as an "assistant" but we felt totally scammed.

The day of the wedding, her first communication was that she needed us to venmo her the extra amount and "take care of that asap." At the wedding itself, she never even let us know when she arrived and we ended up doing most of the coordination with vendors. Things were incredibly awkward with her and her son. We still had a great wedding, but I wish we didn't have to go through the stress Melissa caused us. I hope to save anyone else this trouble by sharing this story!
