Best team EVER!

Golden Events was amazing to work with. From our first phone call to the very end of the night, they took care of everything! They are easy to work with, kind humans, and extremely organized. They had excellent communication with us and put us at ease as they took care of all the details. I highly recommend them without any hesitation.

Baby Shower Tea

My friend told me about Golden Events, she used them for her wedding, so I reached out to Erykah and Caroline to see if they would help me with planning my baby shower and they totally came through. There ended up being like almost 60 people there and everything was so beautiful and cute. My mom hosted it and everything turned out great. I'm so glad I called them because I was stressed out before haha

What a relief!

They thought of everything! Very detail-oriented. That took a lot of the stress off of me. I didn’t have to worry about trying to remember everything, because they did that! I could just enjoy my day and relax with my family and friends. Excellent value for the money spent. Great communication skills.

Golden Events did amazing!

Golden Events did an amazing job helping us with planning our wedding.
We were overwhelmed with all the different things and aspects and vendors and ideas etc.
They did such a great job walking us through everything from beginning to end- the venue, the best prices, all the vendors for dresses, flowers, tables, chairs, decor, drinks, food, dessert, party favors, cake, cloths, runners, stands, streamers, music, DJ, alcohol, lights and so much more we would have forgotten or not thought of in the first place.
They helped set up day-of and kept track of everything so it went off without a hitch. They handled any problems that came up so that we did not even know or realize. It all went seamlessly.
I would recommend them for any event of any size. Thanks again!

Our Experience Did Not Match the Coordination We Were Promised

We hired Golden Events for month-of coordination because we had already planned every detail of our wedding.

The services described on Golden Events’ website and discussed during our planning meetings emphasize that couples won’t have to manage vendors, answer constant questions, rely on friends and family to run the wedding, or worry about what’s happening behind the scenes.

We worked incredibly hard to set our coordinator up for success. More than a week before the wedding I emailed a detailed wedding binder that included a minute-by-minute timeline, vendor contact information, décor instructions with photos and diagrams, photography shot lists, family photo groupings, and notes from our walkthroughs.

During multiple planning meetings, we were assured that Golden Events would keep the photographer on schedule, wrangle family members for photos, and cue the timeline throughout the day. Two days ahead of time I asked specifically if she could be next to us the whole time.

Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

Our coordinator arrived when we did, around 10 a.m., but she didn’t greet us or check in with me until 2:30 p.m., about 30 minutes before the ceremony. During that time we had already completed our first look, all wedding party photos, immediate family photos, and much of the busiest part of the day without help.

We had specifically discussed wanting help keeping photography organized and people moving, but no one lined up family members for photos, the wedding party wasn’t being wrangled, and we never received the proactive coordination we had discussed in our planning meetings.

We had also been told that vendors would be contacted before the wedding. To confirm arrival times and other logistics. With the exception of the venue, none of our vendors told us they had ever been contacted by Golden Events.

Friends ended up setting up much of our signage and décor. The entire reason we hired a coordinator was so that our friends wouldn’t have to work on our wedding day.

During the reception it was difficult to locate our coordinator. They were not present for family photos after the ceremony. Guests said they often saw them sitting inside on their phones.

We also had discussed setting up lawn games after the photos. We provided information on how to set up with photos, who would help, the list of the 3 games, and where the games would go. After 40 min of cocktail hour my husband and I noticed the games were not set up and took action ourselves.

When there was a significant issue with guests not having any water at their dinner tables 30 minutes into eating and it wasn’t noticed, escalated, or resolved by our coordinator.

To be fair, Golden Events did assist with table settings, setup and teardown, and cueing guests down the aisle for the ceremony.

Our wedding was beautiful, and we’re incredibly grateful to the people who stepped in to make the day successful. However, that success came because our friends filled many of the gaps that we had hired a coordinator to fill.

I truly hope this feedback is taken constructively. I don’t believe there was any ill intent, but I do believe future couples deserve to know that our experience did not match the level of coordination that was represented during the booking process.

Did not meet "Day of Coordinator" expectation

Hired Golden Event as our Day of Coordinator. Initially they seems quite diligent and met up with us twice prior to the wedding day. We walked the coordinator through the venue and talk through how we would like things set up, where everything should be, etc.

Then on the day of the wedding, things went very wrong in my opinon. First, my bridesmaids and friends/family who came to help with setup were not given much instruction by the coordinator besides the instructions that I've typed up beforehand. Luckily I've shared with everyone prior or else things will get even messier.

We were promised to have another assistant coordinator with Caroline to be with us on our wedding. Then after we're done with make up and arrived at the venue to start taking photos, she informed us that her colleague couldn't make it due to personal matters, and that she had replaced her with her own daughter who is a teenager. We definitely feel like this is an inappropriate replacement because her daughter couldn't even do a bit of a coordinator's job. Caroline and her daughter are supposed to be on the phone to coordinate the processional (the wedding party is downstairs and the couple is upstairs), and yet she couldn't even make sure her daughter has her phone with her when the ceremony is about to begin. She couldn't even take 1 minute to walk downstairs to grab her phone. As a result, there was an extremely long wait for the bridesmaids to walk because they were not given cues to go. Turned out one of our guests had to signal them to start walking, oh my gosh. Horrible.

Then after the ceremony ends and we're about to go into recessional, there was NO music played and hence the bridesmaids couldn't start walking, and we were all feeling embarassed standing at the altar, staring at the DJ, and more importantly the coordinator. The DJ turned out to misunderstand about having no music after the ceremony when I clearly told him the day prior to play the entire ceremony playlist, including during the recessional. We unfortunately hired an incompetent DJ, fine, but the coordinator who knows our agenda and schedule inside and out couldn't even cue the DJ to play the music. It's baffling to me that something so simple failed to happen.

Then as the wedding goes on, Caroline also failed to keep us on our schedule and move along with our agenda. We don't need a loosey goosey coordinator but someone who can execute and be firm with our timeline. We had discussed prior of the things that we absolutely want to happen, and they've been printed out on the agenda. Caroline came up to us a couple of times telling us that we're "behind", but didn't specify "how behind" and what else we have time for. I was surprised that we're out of time to even distribute the wedding cake, and I really wanted the wedding to end on a high note with some dances, and of course that did not happen at all. Even when we're ready to cut the cake, the coordinator was no where to be seen and we've spent some time just looking for her because the wedding cake is still tucked in the corner. My partner had to move the cake herself when she's not supposed to be doing that. Imo the cake should have been moved as soon as the speeches ended, whether or not we're ready to cut it.

The worst thing is the attitude towards our dissatisfaction when we addressed it with her. Caroline tries to explain and shift the blame to everyone else. I think she did not understand that as the coordinator of the event, she is ultimately accountable for how the event went. The coordinator's job is to make sure things go smoothly and to keep us on track. She couldn't coordinate with her daughter properly with the processional, couldn't cue a DJ to play songs, couldn't keep us on schedule. She takes no responsibility or accountability when things went south. She can't even apologize for her own mistake of not making sure that she's coordinated with her daughter. She only apologized for the "confusion", and went on a big loop explaining what caused the confusion. In reality, the "confusion" would not have happened IF she and her daughter both had their phones, and are coordinated with each other. It's THAT simple. And I did not appreciate her way of handling this. It was extremely unprofessional to send her daughter instead of her colleague without notifying us in advance. We would have no issue with bringing her daughter if she can do a coordinator's job. When we asked her where Caroline is, she just simple said "I don't know", and wouldn't even ask what we needed or offer to go find her. It's almost like she's here to enjoy our ship wedding.

All my bridesmaids and friends didn't even know there was a coordinator because she wasn't there to guide them during the setup, there was minimal coordination throughout the wedding. We regretted hiring Golden Events to coordinate one of the most important day of our lives. If we knew this is the outcome, I would have spent 3 times as much to hire someone more competent, shows professionalism in handling situations, and more importantly, takes accountability.
