My now wife and I eat at Ledger fairly often and knew right away that we wanted to have our reception at Ledger. We did a restaurant buyout since we wanted the entire restaurant to our party. If you are not familiar with Ledger, the big thing is the atmosphere. It is where the former Salem Bank was and uses a lot of the former bank decor to give a vintage yet hip ambiance. Ledger does have a space for a ceremony but we opted to do that on our own.

From the start, we knew we picked the right venue. Ashleigh was the best to deal with. She knows how to make an event successful here and will go the extra mile to ensure a perfect day. She was flexible with how to decorate Ledger, as well as helpful in some of the little things we wanted like candles, etc. She was quick to respond and on top of everything.

The reason we picked Ledger was because of the food and drinks. Ledger is hands down the best restaurant in Salem and has a fun cocktail list to match. My wife and I really wanted to share this place with friends and family and Ledger did not disappoint. Often times restaurants struggle with larger groups and catering events. Not Ledger! The food was as good if not better if we had ordered it off the menu. I can't count how many people were blown away and said "this is the best food I have had at a wedding". Everything came out fresh and hot. If you are a foodie couple, this is the place to get married!

As for drinks and service, every bartender and server was on their game. Bartenders were attentive to myself and my bride to ensure we had everything we needed. Drinks were amazing and people made comments that "the bartenders are mixologists". Additionally, there is a good amount of space to have a dance floor for couples that want to have a DJ and dancing.

Overall, I can't say enough good things about Ashleigh and the team at Ledger. It truly was a memorable day. Highly recommend them!

I cannot recommend the Ledger enough, or a restaurant as your wedding venue for that matter! My husband and I got married on November 17, 2024. We had a semi-private ceremony with our extended families and wedding party (80 people) in their Macomber Room. Since it was November, it was dark by the time our ceremony started, but it was so cozy and intimate that we felt so comfortable and at ease. It didn’t even feel like there were 80 people in the room! The reception followed immediately after in the main dining room, where the rest of our guests arrived (in total there were 103 of us). Because not all our guests were at the ceremony, we wanted to enjoy cocktail hour with everyone so we opted to do our “grand entrance” just the two of us, into cocktail hour. The DJ played our song and we did a loop around the restaurant - it was such a hype-up for the rest of the night!

We knew wanted to get married in a restaurant for a few reasons: food and drinks are taken care of, no need for most rentals, and an intimate atmosphere. The Ledger delivered on all fronts and then some! All our guests RAVED about the food - most saying it was the best meal they’ve ever had at a wedding (can’t say that about many wedding venues!) We did family-style and there was ample food to go around. You have to get the popovers - they are so, so good! The Ledger staff were equally amazing; attentive, kind, fun. Shoutout to the Events Director Ashleigh for being so easy to plan with, and our bartender Jace for being an allstar. Rather than sitting at a table, we sat at the bar. It was a great way to be able to see everything going on, and easy to come back to after talking with guests. The restaurant has such a cool, intimate atmosphere, while also having plenty of room for dancing and chatting. You also don’t really need much decor - the vibe of the restaurant speaks for itself. It was so fun and fulfilling to give our guests a different kind of wedding experience. 1000/10 stars!

Ledger was the perfect venue for our wedding, and the whole experience was fantastic. Ashleigh was so easy to work with, and helped cover every detail we hadn't thought of. Our guests could not stop raving about the space, the food, and the service! I really appreciated all the small touches- Ashleigh and her team welcomed our guests with hot cider as the day ended up being rainy and cold, and I was so touched by this extra detail we hadn't even thought of. We also really appreciated that after the ceremony the team surprised us with donuts, champagne, and some appetizers to enjoy before joining the reception. The bar and wait staff were amazing- you always hear that the couple never get a chance to eat during their wedding, but we were never empty handed if we needed anything- they anticipated our needs from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left. I also really appreciated how Ledger worked with all of our vendors- I did not spend a minute of my wedding worrying about any details, because it was so clear they had everything covered. I truly cannot recommend Ledger enough!

Ledger was an absolute dream to work with! Ashleigh was incredibly responsive and super helpful from beginning to end! She was even helping my mom and aunts decorate the reception area right up until we arrived! We forgot real flowers for our wedding cake and she had some on stand by just in case! She worked with us when we experienced a date change while first planning and even followed up after the wedding to ensure we loved everything. Guests said the Macomber room made it feel like an exclusive event and we got tons of comments on the decor! The food was to die for and the atmosphere was so beautiful and romantic! If you’re thinking of Ledger, go for it! They are incredible!

Ledger is such a unique and special place for any event. I had the honor of being the DJ for a wedding there recently and was beyond impressed with the ambiance, floor layout, and knowledgeable staff. They had tremendous communication leading up to and during event. They truly are team players and wonderful to work with. The food (fried chicken thighs, sliced steak, mushroom campanelle) was phenomenal. I can’t wait to eat there again. I highly recommend Ledger in Salem, MA.

We recently had a small wedding reception (36 guests) in the Macomber Room at Ledger and it was so perfect. Ashleigh was helpful and communicative and helped everything run smoothly. Our guests could not stop gushing about how good the food was and how beautiful the space was (we used a flower vendor named Karla Cassidy who Ledger recommended and she was also awesome!). Really, everything about it contributed to a beautiful and perfect day. We loved our experience at Ledger!

Ashleigh Moraga as the Ledger Event Coordinator is incredibly responsive and helpful. She worked with the budget my Husband and I had and was able to help us create a wonderful space. The custom menu was easy to plan and all allergy request were respected.

My husband and I love food and love going out to eat and drink and I was very eagerly anticipating the opening of Salem's newest restaurant, Ledger. He proposed on June 15th 2017 in Lake Placid and the following week we decided to check out Ledger, which had just opened on the 20th. About twenty minutes into that first visit, I knew I wanted to get married at Ledger. The atmosphere, the people, the decor, the incredible and unique food and drinks. There was no doubt in my mind that Ledger was going to be our wedding venue. We hadn't started any wedding planning yet, but we knew we wanted to keep everything local, we knew we wanted a unique spot that spoke to our style and most importantly, we knew we HAD to have the best food and drinks at our wedding. Ledger proved to be the perfect choice! Our ceremony was in their smaller event space and our reception was held in the main restaurant. The space is so warm and inviting and it's beautifully designed with a vintage meets 21st century vibe. The food and drinks completely exceeded our expectations and people are STILL telling us how much they enjoyed the food. The pastry chef even made us a custom Rosh Hashanah dessert! And the people. Everyone was so incredibly nice, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed and making it such a fun evening for all of our guests. They made our night even more extra special. And Ashleigh was so amazing to work with. If you're looking for a unique wedding spot with a beautiful atmosphere, warm staff and beyond amazing food and drinks, Ledger is the venue for you.
