I am LaKesha D. Bankston-Glover, a freelance makeup artist based in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. My love for all things makeup began with my grandmother and playing in her lipsticks…without her knowing!

I began my professional journey in makeup in 2002, as a consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. I loved the immense education I received about skincare and makeup, and loved sharing that knowledge with my clients. My personal turning point occurred when I was invited to service ladies at a Battered Women’s Shelter. Spending a day enhancing their outer beauty, I was blessed to help them unlock their inner beauty! This experience motivated me to vigorously pursue my passion to become a Makeup Artist.

In 2012, I stepped out on faith and received my Makeup Artist Certification from Bennett Career Institute (BCI) in Washington, DC; learning from Master Teachers like: Reggie Wells, Frederick Sanders, and Danessa Myricks. Soon after receiving my certification, LaKesha’s Inspiring Looks was born.
