Facilities and Capacity
With several event spaces available to make use of, there are ample choices available for the couple’s once-in-a-lifetime event. Exuding a vintage charm that comes across in almost every corner of the venue, Lafayette Grand offers a breath-taking setting. The Crystal Ballroom is a truly chic and eye-catching space. With its Chiavari-style chairs, colorful florals, and tall 1920s’-style centerpieces, there is much to admire. Here, up to 350 people can be accommodated to bask in the light from the crystal chandeliers. Elsewhere, the Grand Ballroom is another majestic area on the property. When decked out with round tables, a head table for select guests, and tasteful decor, it looks truly resplendent. The wood floors gleam underneath the glow of chandelier light, as everyone relaxes in this era-defined space. Up to 500 people can be seated for the reception meal here.
The Lafayette Ballroom is another one of the areas available to use. Suitable for a smaller, more low-key gathering, it looks just as polished as the other rooms. Round tables with decoration can be laid out for the meal as terrazzo floors shimmer elegantly beneath guests’ feet. Another space available at Lafayette Grand is the Pontiac Lounge. A luxurious space, it is as tied to a bygone period as the rest of the building. Akin to the speakeasies of the 1920s, the rich mahogany, marble flooring, and bar make it a remarkable place to gather.
A variety of wedding packages are available to choose from, meaning that many preferences and requests can be accommodated. To minimize the stress of preparing for such a big occasion, an event planner can assist with some of the details. They can also provide couples with a plethora of event rentals such as furniture, chair covers, decor, lighting, and a dance floor.
In terms of food, Lafayette Grand can provide a number of options to serve the newlyweds and their guests. A buffet can be laid on, including gourmet dishes to please a number of palates. Family-style catering can also be provided, perfect for an intimate celebration. Of course, those wishing for a sit-down option are also in luck.
Originally constructed in 1923, Lafayette Grand has been restored and refurbished over the years. A historic building with a rich past and a great deal of opulence, it has a noticeable presence on the Oakland County landscape. Today, it hosts special occasions and weddings.

Hidden Gem in Pontiac, Flexible and Accommodating
Who would have thought that there was a hidden gem in downtown Pontiac? The Lafayette Grande is an old masonic temple built in the 1920s and is absolutely stunning, a lot of our local guests were really impressed! Lauren, Greg, and the staff was also incredibly flexible and accommodating and we were so glad to go with a venue where we could do both the ceremony and reception in one place. Even with upgrades (i.e. chiavari chairs, extra bar hour and upgrade, extra apps) their per person cost is really affordable compared to options you'd get in downtown Detroit. We went with a pork loin with apple chutney option which was probably my favorite but the rest was pretty standard wedding fare. We did family-style dinner and all the food seemed to come out on time and at the right temp. We added an extra bottled beer option to the bar since my husband is a bit craft beer fan and it was nice because whatever was unopened we got to keep. They even gave us a case of beer from the previous wedding since that couple forgot to take it. The groomsmen got ready on site in their Pontiac Lounge space and they had another case of beer, lunch, and snacks set-up for them pretty much at cost. The service staff was great and they helped to corral people for ceremony/dinner, open/shut main doors for the ceremony, and help navigate the old elevator. They even plated and set out our dessert table, even though we went with other vendors for the dessert. Probably my only complaint throughout the entire process was that they notify you of their monthly tastings a bit last minute (within 1-2 weeks), so it was a bit tricky trying to schedule to attend one since we were out-of-state, but I totally get it if most of their clients are local. Overall, it was nice to have a venue be really flexible and affordable, especially in regards to how we could set up the space and how we wanted to run things. Thanks for making our wedding day so special!Sent on 01/03/2020

Family-owned Art Deco gem!!
We couldn't have gotten married at a better place than the Lafayette Grande! We got married in the Crystal Ballroom. The whole building is a stunning example of beautiful 1920's Art Deco architecture, which is our favorite. The venue is family owned and run, which was important to us too. There was a lot more heart here than some of the other places we inquired about and checked out. Greg, Lauren, and the whole Lafayette Grande Staff treated us fantastically during our whole planning process and during our wedding day. Outstanding building, amazing food and service. This is truly a hidden gem among the Metro Detroit wedding industry. We will always treasure our memories made here on our wedding day. We will tell anyone we know planning a wedding in the area about Lafayette Grande. I would love to be in attendance at another wedding here and witness another couples dreams come true!Sent on 12/05/2019
