About this venue
The Emerald Theatre is a gorgeous historic venue located in the heart of downtown Mount Clemens, MI. Designed by C. Howard Crane, built in 1921, is a beautifully restored venue boasting three levels, exquisite gold-gilded ornate plaster walls, opera boxes, and an elevated stage with professionally designed specialty lighting and a concert-quality sound system, of course! Announce your event in style with a special message on our marquee and our outdoor digital screen, which faces the huge public parking lot directly behind the theatre. The intimate, oh-so-cool vibe of the Rock Room is perfect for cocktail hour and pictures.
The Emerald Theatre sets the stage for an extraordinary and memorable vow exchange and reception, featuring truly spectacular decor sure to enchant and surprise your guests. Step inside and find yourself drawn to the dramatic stage, soaring ceiling, and classic opera boxes. Following the ceremony, take in the splendor from the stunning vantage point of the balcony and take time for a few photos before joining guests on the mezzanine or a private bar for a cocktail. The stage has an option to be transformed into a dining area for your evening reception, and following dinner, the ultimate dance floor is ready for you and your guests to dance the night away.
As an inclusive venue, we assist in coordinating all aspects of your event while you make memories and enjoy your special day. The Emerald Theatre offers flexible packages designed for intimate to elaborate weddings (up to 250 guests) and tailored to your preferences for a unique, personalized experience. Our team of dedicated event specialists includes a wedding coordinator who is available to help you craft your perfect wedding/reception package, answer questions, and meet with associated vendors. Our catering is from our sister company, D'Amatos, where we've served amazing food for nearly 29 years. D'Amatos can create a delicious menu with a selection of hors d'oeuvres and main courses. A complimentary tasting is included in advance, allowing you to sample different dishes and select your favorite menu items. We also provide alternatives for any dietary preferences, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. Friendly and professional bartenders serve refreshments and personalized signature cocktails from an open or cash bar to compliment your meal.

Simply The Best!
We were the poster child for the COVID engagement, and spent nearly 24 months engaged due to the pandemic. To top it off it was an LGBT+ wedding. So our stress/fears were high about the entire process. As the spring of 2021 came about we realized that we were going to likely be able to finally put on our wedding, and after looking at dozens of venues, we knew the second we walked into the Emerald it was THE PERFECT spot for our wedding.
The team there was attentive to our every need, and the best thing I can share is that from the owner, to our amazing coordinators, to the servers, every single person seemed to truly and deeply care about making sure our special day was truly that (that you will not find almost anywhere else in our experience). If you are looking for a place that will deliver a unique and wonderful atmosphere that will leave your family and friends talking about your wedding for years to come, this is the place.
On a technical level, we had a lounge singer for the cocktail hour, a live band for the reception, and performed the ceremony right there as well, in addition to having all of our photos taken prior to the ceremony. It was all handled seamlessly and our guests raved about what a great "flow" the entire day had to it! Their teams pulled off all those moving parts like the pros they are!
Also, the food from D'Amatos was unbelievable!!!! The shrimp, the beef, the rice balls, all of it was truly great and the staff there also did a truly remarkable job even at our tasting menu appointment.
We just keep hoping one of our friends decide to get married there too so we can experience it guests!

Absolutely amazing!
Great accommodations for any size budget! They will work with you to make your dream wedding come true! Wedding was 2-2 (the day of the big snowstorm) and the venue called a couple days before offering to postpone if I chose to, but assuring me they were ready for my big day! Great communication and great staff! Couldn’t have asked for a better venue! Thank you guys for making my wedding amazing!!

Perfect start for our Forever and Ever ❤️
The Emerald Theatre was an amazing Venue for our night to remember ! Jessica and Shanna, helped us to create a wonderful experience for our wedding. From the moment we walked into the theatre we could feel the magic from the lights, music playing, and the historical architecture. Not only was the venue amazing but the staff helped us plan everything with ease and took a lot of our planning stress away. The venue is very flexible and can help you tailor your wedding to how you picture it. The food was catered by D’Amatos restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious! The Emerald Theatre and it’s staff will always have a special place in our heart ❤️

Made our wedding day the most memorable day!
My husband and I got married at The Emerald Theatre and it was the most beautiful wedding. The planning went smoothly and we were given the best assistance by Tony, Cecilia and John. The venue is so beautiful and we styled our decor and colors around the elegant reds and golds that the theatre boasts. The architecture is from the same architect that designed the Fox Theatre in Detroit and the team at Emerald Theatre has done a fantastic job of restoring the Theatre to her original glory. Our guests raved about how amazing their night was, some even claiming it was the best night they ever had!! What a compliment! Everything really came together with the planning, execution, food, drinks, service, decor and to top it all off... our names on the marquee! I recommend The Emerald to all my friends and family, because I can’t wait to be there again and celebrate. Thank you to all who made our special day so very memorable.

Beyond Magical
The Emerald Theatre is by far the greatest choice you can make for a wedding and reception venue!!! We didn't want the cookie-cutter banquet hall space, we wanted to make sure our guests felt like they were in a movie, and the Emerald nailed it from start to finish. Your wedding is a once in a lifetime moment that you want to share with those close to your heart, make it unforgettable with choosing the Emerald. We got married in 2018, and when I tell you people are S T I L L talking about our wedding, I mean it. Family members consistently say we set the bar and can not be beat!
AFFORDABLE, romantic, historic, DELICIOUS (catering by D'Amato's), and honestly...perfect.
I can guarantee you will not find another venue for this price. We paid nearly 1/3 of what other venues charged, and again, everyone won't stop talking about it.
Cecilia was our coordinator and go-to for every single thing. She makes sure you don't forget the details, which is very easy to do when you get excited. If we said we wanted something (twinkle lights on the stage, an absolute must), she made it happen. I am the definition of unprepared, with most things, and never once did she let me drop the ball. She was prompt, efficient, and most importantly passionate. The morning of our wedding all I had to do was show up, get ready and marry the love of my life, Cecilia took care of the rest.
The food was out of this world. We had D'Amato's INCREDIBLE meatballs for the appetizer and the Honey Peppered Angus Beef Brisket and Chicken Piccata for our main course. Tony and his team executed everything with grace and perfection. D'Amato's has worked their way into our regular date nights now because we feel they represent that warm loving feeling that loving someone can bring, both in their food and hospitality.
We got to use the stage as our altar, then during the cocktail hour, the amazing team flipped the script and turned it into our head table and opened up the seating to make it a dance floor. I loved keeping everything within one space for our guests' convenience.
We really wanted to make sure we had a good venue, good food, and a good DJ. We ended up with an AMAZING all of the above and I'm so grateful for Cecelia at the Emerald Theatre, Tony Prainito at D'Amato's, Dave Menzo, our DJ, at Mike Staff Productions, and Evis Mecolli, our photographer at Visi Productions.
They treated us like family and still do to this day. Life is a little sweeter thanks to their help on our perfect day.

Value-Add Flexibility Leads to Perfect Day
When looking for a wedding venue, my wife and I were interested in somewhere that was able to accommodate a ceremony and reception. Our first stop was the Emerald Theater, and the experience just spoiled all the others we went to. The decor, atmosphere, and onsite amenities are just so unique! I will never forget the shivers down my spine when the venue coordinator showed my wife (then fiance) how her grand entrance will be made through the foyer doors. When it came to finances, the pricing for their top tier package (including all of the things we wanted) was significantly cheaper than any other venue we visited later.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to postpone our wedding date twice. The whole time, the venue was right there with us supporting our decisions and assisting us along the way (the owner John even met with us to discuss what he could do to help). As it was a crazy time, we ended up having 3 different coordinators throughout the time from initial visit to the actual event day, but we could not appreciate their contributions more. Cecilia, Jessie, and Shanna were so accommodating, with Shanna taking on the final leg helping with the actual wedding. Our day came out better than we could have imagined and we could not have done it without their help and support.
Overall - we highly recommend anyone looking for a unique and intimate wedding venue to check out the Emerald Theater!

As beautiful as you hope it is!
We are all about jazz, and the Emerald Theatre stood out to us as soon as we got engaged. It was the first venue we viewed and we never looked back. The ornate beauty was just the start, as we were able to put engagement photos on the big screen out back, use the Rock Room throughout the day, and smoke cigars out front at night. Most importantly, the food at the wedding was just as good as when we went for our tasting.
Considering all the personnel changes and complications surrounding COVID-19 throughout the duration of our engagement, the wedding turned out to be as beautiful as we were hoping. We are very appreciative of the flexibility shown when changing our wedding date, asking for specific accommodations, or getting creative with the experience. All in all, we are very pleased with our Emerald Wedding.
