About

Hi, my name is Katie Romaine. I have always had a passion for doing hair and making people feel great about themselves. I was excited to achieve my childhood goal when I completed schooling at Capri Cosmetology in 2007. I can honestly say I truly love my job as a stylist. My primary objective is to make my clients feel confident and beautiful while giving my professional advice. I love meeting new people and making new friends. I strive to make my clients feel comfortable and relaxed. Some of my favorite things to do are bridal hair, color, cutting and styling.

My professional experience includes employment at the Spa at Mohonk Mountain House where I learned the art of nail care and guest services and Ciao Bella Salon where I mastered coloring and advanced cutting techniques .

Bridal hair is one of my favorite things to do. It is such an important day and I love being a part of making each bride and her girls feel and look wonderful. I take my time and put much effort into the detail of each style. I believe this to be an art and I really enjoy creating new looks. I am fully confident in my capabilities and have always walked away with a happy and satisfied bride and bridal party. Planning your wedding can be a stressful but happy time. I do my absolute best to work diligently to make sure the bride is stress-free and completely relaxed the day of her wedding.

I booked Katie after my friend used Katie for her wedding, and I'm so glad I did! Katie is the sweetest, and has a real passion for doing hair and it shows. She also has a calm and poised demeanor, which is helpful on your wedding day :) Katie and her assistant were absolutely fabulous and and so professional. Everyone loved their hair, and my hair turned out better than I could imagine. I felt so glamorous!

I am so glad that I hired Katie to do my hair for my wedding. She is really skilled and she did a beautiful job -- I got tons of compliments on it. I am generally very picky about my hair and even considered doing it myself, but Katie was able to take the pictures I showed her and create exactly the look I wanted for my wedding. The finished product was far more elegant and sophisticated than anything I could have done myself - or even imagined. She also did my bridesmaids's hair and did updos for my aunt and cousins. There was a really broad array of hair styles between everyone, but everyone looked beautiful and the styles lasted all night. Katie was really sweet, professional, and easy to work with. In short, I highly recommend her. Thanks, Katie!

Katie and her assistant did an amazing job with myself and my bridesmaids on my wedding day! From the time I reached out with interest to post-wedding, Katie made the entire process so easy. She accommodated my schedule for my hair trial, and helped to create my day of schedule. When we realized we'd cut it close with the number of up-do's and the start of my ceremony, she pulled in her assistant to help and she was just as great. My wedding party and myself included received MANY compliments throughout the night. Couldn't have pictured it turning out better! Thank you Katie!

What can I say about Katie other than she is phenomenal! I first met Katie through my sister-in-law, as she had been the hair stylist for that wedding. I later found out that she had also done a friend of the family’s hair for her wedding, as well! Knowing this from the start, I knew my bridal party and I were in good hands. Katie and her assistant were awesome to work with on the big day; they expertly utilized a less-than-wonderful space and made it work to their complete benefit. It paid off too, because everyone looked amazing. From the get go, I told Katie that my hair would be a challenge to curl, and she got it to do whatever she wanted like the pro she is!! Katie is kind, flexible, personable, and completely professional. She is fantastic at what she does and I will recommend her to everyone I know! ~Dana

I could not be more happy with the work that Katie did for me. Leading up to the wedding we exchanged numerous emails as my ideas for hair kept changing. She always responded quickly and did a great job at reassuring all of my hair concerns. The day of the wedding she created four beautiful and distinct hair designs for my bridesmaids and myself. I got numerous compliments during my wedding and would highly recommend her. Thank you for helping to make my wedding day so special!

I got married on a Sunday, so it was very difficult to find hair and makeup stylists who wanted to work on their usual days off. Because we couldn't go to one salon, I had to find stylists who were also willing to travel to my mother's house. I received a recommendation for Katie from my makeup artist. We set up a trial for a Friday afternoon at her salon in Montgomery, NY. I live in NYC and left work early to make the 4pm appointment. Unfortunately, I didn't leave early enough and hit a slew of traffic. I was going to be at least an hour late for the appointment. Katie, a new mom on a Friday afternoon, was so sweet and waited until I got there at 6pm!! She didn't seem the slightest bit annoyed and did an amazing job on my trial. The day of my wedding, she brought an assistant to help with my six bridesmaids and my mom. Katie is an artist and very professional with her work, so the assistant was there mainly to set everyone up and Katie said she "likes to touch everyone's head" and finished all of the styles. Everyone's hair turned out exactly how they wanted it and she finished 8 girls in just about 5 hours!! I'm not the pickiest person, but I have rarely like an updo I've had in all of the weddings and parties I've been to. Katie did my hair exactly as I had imagined it and I couldn't have been happier! She comes highly recommended from me! Thanks Katie!!

Katie is such a doll and a pleasure to work with. And she is a genius when it comes to hair! She helped me, my 2 nieces, and 4 of my bridesmaids look absolutely gorgeous with beautiful, intricate up-dos. She was not only able to come up with ideas for the girls who didn't know what they wanted, but she was also able to recreate hair styles that my bridesmaids had seen on the internet. Everyone's hair looked perfect! I've heard horror stories of brides who are stuck in the chair and running late because of their hair stylist, but Katie finished early and even offered to do my 3 year old niece's hair before she left. Katie was on-time and brought everything she needed to my sister's house where we got ready. She helped to make it a very low-stress process. Katie is a total professional and was very responsive to all of my questions/concerns leading up to the wedding. I would recommend her to anyone... especially if you're looking for a hair stylist for your wedding or another event, Katie will take care of you!
