About
That’s me, Karen Liberman. Every BRIDE deserves her very own Fairy Glamother to bring out only the best of her. I got my start early in life, actually while in the womb! My mom, a hairstylist/makeup artist was carrying me when she was in beauty school.
Trying my hand at styling hair by cutting a friends hair when I was five, “pretty good job” too, mom said. When I was twelve, Mom would bring me along to assist her in doing hair and makeup for plays. I would put foundation on their faces, take out rollers, etc. I loved doing this with her.
I am a graduate from the American School of Beauty Culture, Chicago. I moved to Los Angeles for further training, and worked 10 years in Beverly Hills, starting at George Demings’ Salon and then on to Marks Tuch Stylist, and ending my stay in Beverly Hills at Ciros.
I came to Kauai on vacation, got a job offer, and returned to live on Kauai. I wrote a Beauty Column for the Garden Island News for five years, while opening my own salon and in five years another Salon at the Hilton, Kauai.
Brides are our Specialty. The excitement and joy this brings is rewarding. My parents moved to Kauai, and my mom was manager of one of the salons. I also do models for photo shoots. I did hair and makeup for the Kauai Players for over a year. I’ve also worked on Kauai Beauty Pageants glamming models on the fashion runway. I did hair and makeup on an Imax film, Behold Hawaii, the movie Manhunt a film for T.V., and for 6 Days and 7 nights I was an extra and did a little hair and makeup there also.
I have so much fun doing hair and makeup; it is more an art than work. It’s my passion.
