Who I am

Hi, my name is Julian Talib Mares. I'm a 19 year old photographer based in Santa Barbara County and I specialize in digital photography. I'm currently taking a break from school to focus on scaling my business but plan to resume my schooling in the near future.

My freshman year of college I had no clue as to what I wanted to do with my life; Coincidentally I had been gifted my first real camera that same year. With absolutely no clue as to how to use it, I was driven to learn the craft and I did. I have always been one to start things but never finish but this time I decided I wouldn't let myself.

As for the business aspect of my photography I had a love for business and marketing so the two ended up intertwining and I started a photography business that stemmed from a hobby and it happened organically which I'm thankful for because this never feels like a job and I just get to be my creative self.

I'm thankful for the opportunities that have been and get presented to me, and the amazing people I get to meet. I never know where I'm going to be, or who I'm going to meet, and I live for the spontaneous events that this entails for.
