Jen was recommended to us by the owners of our wedding venue as a photographer that really stood out to them in weddings they have had. Starting on paper Jen looked great, she is very reasonable in her prices and the photos we saw looked beautiful. From the very first call to Jen ( we were planning our wedding from a different state) we knew Jen was unique! She couldn't wait to meet us and our dogs, which we just HAD to have in the wedding. Jen immediately felt like a friend to us, making our engagement and wedding photos feel so natural and fun. Not to mention how great all the photos turned out!

My wife and I could not give Jen a higher rating! Where to start....she was professional and a blast to work with! We hired Jen to be our wedding photographer last July at Mitchell's Meadow (also highly recommended) just north of Truckee. From the very start of the process Jen was amazing! She was very approachable and easy to work with. We met with her a few months prior to our wedding and she was SO nice, easy going and a lot of fun. Jen just radiates good energy and positivity. We had our 4 dogs in our wedding, and was so excited to find out that Jen was as much of a dog lover as we are. Jen volunteers her time at the local animal shelter, taking photos of the dogs and cats to help them get adopted. Jen also does photo shoots with pets that are at the end of their life to make lasting memories for their family. Jen is a good soul. Her photography skills are just as amazing! Our outdoor venue could have been a tricky place to get good shots (with difficult lighting), but Jen knew what she was doing, and got amazing photos! We had a big wedding (250+) guests and Jen (by herself) captured everyone! She was literally running around the venue to get all the great shots! Our wedding party said; "normally wedding party photo sessions are very exhausting. Jen made it so easy and we all had a blast!" During the wedding and reception Jen was working so hard and got SO many good shots! Later in the evening she was on the dance floor with everyone getting some really fun party photos! She really captured the energy of our group. Jen made sure to get the kind of photos we wanted. We told her we loved aspen trees so she did a whole photo shoot of my wife and I in a aspen grove. Jen quickly became not just our photographer, but our friend. If you want a phenomenal photographer at a fair price, hire Jen. You wont regret it.

Jen gave my husband and I the greatest gift we could possibly imagine. Not only was she a phenomenal photographer, incredibly professional, responsive and comfortable to work with (not to mention quick)- but she was able to perfectly capture a day that was overflowing with love and emotion for us. We were so impressed by her unique ability to capture every important moment without being intrusive. We had a very small wedding and she captured every special moment- from my husbands smile during our vows, to our first kiss, to my parents lovingly looking at each other - and I don't remember seeing her moving around once! She is incredibly respectful and has an amazing perspective that I can't begin to describe. I can't say it enough, We LOVE LOVE LOVE our wedding photos and Jen! Jen Schmidt is such a talented photographer! Everyone who saw our wedding photos commented on the quality of the pictures! Jen may be on the higher side when it comes to prices, but considering that we will be looking at this photos for the rest of our lives, and our children and grandchildren will be looking at them even after we are gone, it was so worth the price :) She really is amazing!

Jen flew out to Montana to photograph my outdoor wedding in June of 2010. She was so well-prepared, professional, and friendly, and she made everyone feel completely at-ease during the photo sessions! Jen took outstanding posed group photos and was extremely helpful and patient as different combinations of relatives filed in and out of the pictures. She then followed my husband and I with her camera as we frolicked through fields and gardens, and the photographs she produced from these candid sessions are simply breathtaking. Every single one is a work of art and will be cherished in our family for generations - she gave us such an incredible gift. She also photographed our entire reception, and I still am amazed by her ability to be in a million places at the same time - she managed to capture so many intimate, charming moments with all of our guests.

So many people have told me that that Jen's photos from our wedding are simply the absolute best wedding photos they've ever seen - and I completely agree! Jen was a dream to work with and is a true artist.

Jen photographed our engagement shoot in Tahoe, and words cannot describe how amazing she is!! Jen is one of the kindest people I've met, and her warm and friendly personality made the experience soo easy (even for two people who had no idea what we were doing haha). So many people commented on how absolutely gorgeous the shots were -
she captured the beauty of the scenery in every shot and somehow made us look photogenic and in love too! One of the things we were MOST impressed with is how much Jen commits to each shot - she will climb rocks, jump in bushes, and sit on the edge of a cliff just to get you your beautiful shots! And even after the photoshoot, she is so generous with her time in photoshopping anything you'd like to see tweaked, staying in contact, and sending us the USB in an amazing case.
