James River Cellars is a hidden gem that many do not realize exists. MK is the coordinator their and she is fantastic. When you book with this venue they include so much that others don't at a fraction of the cost (bartender, outside beer, outside catering, tents. nice chairs, access to the who property, wine glasses, etc.) I don't know how this hasn't really been discovered yet. If your looking for an outdoor wedding venue, this is your spot.

This is a beautiful venue and I enjoyed being a bridesmaid in my friends wedding. The grounds were beautiful, the people were friendly, and the evening was perfect. I would highly recommend having an event at James River Cellars.

We were very pleased with the entire event. The venue was beautiful. The wines were outstanding, as ususal. Brittany was very professional and had wonderful suggestions for the ceremony. I would definitely recommend having a wedding and ceremony at James River Cellars Winery!

The winery is a great place to get married! Everyone is laid-back and allows the bride and groom to visualize what they want their big day to look like! The location is great for an intimate to medium-sized wedding and the wine is delicious! We found the price to be extremely modest for the beauty of the area and the staff is eager to please!

My fiancé and I loved the outside tent and the lawn with the flowers but the downer is that the sports park is next door and the golf range net will be right their in your face for the ceremony. We are making our Arbour for our big day in October so hopefully people will just see the hard work and time we put into decorations and color. Love the fact we also have use of the main house to get ready and use the restrooms throughout the evening

James River was a beautiful place for an outdoor wedding in Richmond, VA at a pretty good value. It is not isolated or in the middle of nowhere like a lot of other venues nearby we looked at. The rental fee included all rentals (tents, tables, chairs, linens, china, etc.). Unfortunately, our experience with the event coordinator was not very pleasant. We were told things early on that we were later told we would not receive, even up to the week before the wedding (when they got really rude with me) - that 200 people would fit comfortably under their tent with food, DJ, and dance floor (not true at all), a certain type of chair, a certain size table, etc. When we pushed back on them, they resolved/corrected all but one issue. I would go sometimes three weeks without hearing back from the event coordinator at all. The day-of, I barely even saw the staff there, which was fine with me since I had hired a day-of coordinator. The only thing that was wrong the day of the wedding having to do with them was the downstairs of the house was supposed to stay unlocked for our guests to use the restroom and get inside in the AC for a break from the heat outside and they locked all 200 of us out (including myself - the bride, the groom, and our parents). Overall, I was pleased with how my wedding turned out there, but for the money we spent and the trouble we went through dealing with them, it was not worth it.
