Ivey was an essential part of my wedding day. She did my makeup for my civil ceremony, and I have never looked better in my life. I am extremely insecure, especially about photos, but her work gave me the confidence I needed and made me look like a celebrity from every angle. Ivey is so thoughtful and open about her creative process in a way that made me feel a part of it. She understood my reference photo and encouraged me to take it a little further, and encouraged me to fight my fear of a bold lip. Her price point is way higher than I originally budgeted, but it was completely worth it. I hope I get to work with Ivey again, because I love how her work made me feel.

I had heard about Ivey's makeup services for several years through an entertainment network I'm a part of and knew that she did makeup/special effects for tv/film/stage. When my wife and I were looking for a makeup artist for our wedding I contacted a couple of different people, but we really weren't' finding the right combination of style/service with our my budget. I reached out to Ivey because I checked out her work and realized she also did wedding makeup. My wife and I both had an informal phone consultation and discussed each of the looks we were going for and talked about our budget. Ivey was very flexible, professional, and cool right away. It was easy to have a conversation about money and what would be possible with what we wanted/our budget and Ivey's time/value (a topic I find awkward most of the time!) She was very generous with the services she provided for myself, my wife, and my wife's mother. Although we did not do a makeup trial, she was very communicative about steps/prep we needed to take leading up to the day. We both sent pinterest boards of our looks to her, had a few of these emails back and forth of what to expect, and then she showed up to the hotel the morning of our wedding and TRULY hit it out of the park 100%. She made me feel at ease and dealt with my crazy morning wedding energy so well. I really appreciated it lol. I loved the makeup she did for me and was just truly so impressed with her knowledge, expertise, and fun chill attitude. My wife also looked beautiful. Not only did my makeup look great in person, but the photos we took really do look wonderful because she did such a great job--this is something I'm not sure all makeup artists can do?.? My makeup never felt heavy or cakey and lasted throughout the evening. She also gave us a touch up kit to use throughout our wedding. I am very grateful we found her and it worked out. I fully endorse hiring Ivey to make you look and feel beautiful on your wedding day.

I wavered about whether to even hire a makeup artist because in the past I’ve preferred what I could do myself over professional makeup but I’m soooo glad we had Ivey there for our wedding. She made my wife, my mom, and I all look so beautiful! Ivey did a great job listening to what we wanted, my wife was interested in more glam and I like more natural, and both looks came out so perfect. In addition to her incredible work Ivey was also just such a great presence on our wedding day, she brought a light and positive energy into the day while also being so professional and I loved working with her.

Ivey was the absolute best to work with as we prepared for our big day. She met with us months in advance to go over our needs and put together a plan to help us look fabulous on our big day for our family, friends, and of course the photos we will be looking at for the rest of our lives. Ivey helped us both get prepped on the day of our wedding and the day after for even more photos and she was simply amazing to work with. We couldn't be happier with how we both looked on our day and in our photos and Ivey was to thank for so much of that. We absolutely recommend her to anyone getting prepped for their big day!

Thoroughly impressed! It was one of the first times i’ve had my makeup professionally done therefore I was a little nervous. Ivey has an amazing personality and a true talent, making sure my nervous self felt comfortable in her space as well as making me feel that she understood what I envisioned. After matching my skin tone, explaining what she’d be doing and product she’d be using I had so much trust. I am SO glad I chose Ivey to do my makeup, besides her beauty on the outside she has a heart of gold and willing to go above and beyond for her clients. In short - look no further, Ivey is your gal! She is truly one of NYC's best makeup artists! My husband (fiance at the time of course) threw together a last minute civil ceremony and thankfully Ivey was available. Not only did she come to my apartment in LIC to glam me up, but she really made sure I was comfortable, with her processes, talked me through everything she was doing, and made a custom blend bronzer for me. As a woman of color, I have always hated/feared getting my makeup done because I would often times come out looking not like myself, with a makeup shade that was clearly incorrect. Ivey is very considerate and really wants you to feel and look beautiful as a bride. I was also fortunate enough to be in wedding where one of Ivey's team members did my makeup and she also did an incredible job! Would hire again in a literal heartbeat!

Ivey did an amazing job with my wedding hair and makeup in 2015. We consulted about the look and possible options and then did a trial run before the big day. I highly recommend Ivey. She did my wedding makeup for an outdoor wedding in NY in July and made it so I never looked sweaty or greasy which I thought was impossible. I suggest following her directions to have photos of ideas and inspiration and go through the trial process with her so you know what to expect. She looked through my photos and discussed everything and answered all of my questions so I was totally comfortable. She is a great talent and a pleasure to work with.

I absolutely LOVED working with Ivey on my wedding day. I was SO happy with how my look turned out, and it came out perfectly in my photos. Ivey is an expert when it comes to knowing what looks good in photography and also creating hair and makeup that will last the entire day. She also gave everyone complimentary touch-up kits which was really nice. She has a lot of patience if you happen to not be used to wearing makeup and will guide you through everything with a smile. She talked me into wearing false eyelashes and everyone complimented me on how great they looked throughout the day. I have a skin disorder, eczema, which can cause bad reactions, and Ivey is very mindful of that and also always uses top-of-the-line makeup products. I respect Ivey a lot for all the care she puts into her work- she will go the extra mile to make sure you look fantastic! I have worked with Ivey now 7 times for various events, and I'm so glad to have had her to trust for this important occasion. If you hire Ivey, I guarantee you are in excellent hands. As an (important) bonus, she's always early!
