About
Historic Greer Depot's story began more than a century ago. Constructed in 1913, Charles Christian Hook of Charlotte, North Carolina, designed the depot as a combination passenger station and freight warehouse for the Piedmont & Northern Railway, later used by the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad, Seaboard System Railroad and finally CSX Transportation, before facing potential demolition in 1984.
Saved from the wrecking ball by Greenville County Redevelopment Authority, it was finally sold to Station One Partnership in 1987 and redeveloped as retail and office space. Fast forward to 2017... Letchworth Properties, LLC, purchased the Historic Greer Depot with the hope of fully restoring it to its original grandeur.
The Historic Greer Depot now serves as the General and Administrative offices of Western Carolina Railway Service Corporation and its' subsidiaries, hosts a boutique beer and wine store, as well as the new Historic Greer Depot, LLC. With the conversion of the former warehouse space now complete, there's a new Event Venue and Meeting Space onsite!
The indoor event space is comprised of a 3,600 sq. ft. main room for your event, including modern ADA-accessible restrooms and a catering kitchen. In addition, a 900 sq. ft. outdoor rose garden is also available for meetings, cocktails functions, elopements, bridal portraits and more!
Historic Greer Depot is nestled in the heart of the Greer Station Historic District at 300 Randall Street, Greer, SC 29651. It is convenient to both Greenville (17 miles) and Spartanburg (18 miles), and only minutes away from GSP International Airport (5 miles). The venue is convenient to lodging, restaurants and retail outlets throughout the Historic District.
Historic Greer Depot is the perfect setting for weddings, receptions, meetings, parties, or just about any social event you can think of... and is the only authentic railroad depot available in South Carolina as an event venue. Historic Greer Depot is also a member of the Upstate Bridal Association. A collection of superior Upstate wedding professionals who adhere to the organization's ideals and standards.
