Heather was fantastic at our wedding and we couldn't have been happier with the photos we received. We've received multiple comments from the guests as to how great she was to interact with. She captured great candid moments among family and friends and our posed portraits came out great as well. We printed two small books from her photos, separately, and hope to print another soon. I hope that we can work with her again and I would highly recommend her for your wedding!

What an incredibly talented woman and delightful soul Heather is. My partner and I are from Australia and got married with only two witnesses present, this being the case amplified the importance of the photos to us as they would be all our family and friends would ever have to see of our day. Not only did Heather capture the day perfectly through a remarkable and vast array of candid shots but she seemed to capture true emotion in that lens of hers. Heather was always available by email (even for the silliest of questions) and also made herself available to meet on Skype pre wedding day for us all to throw around ideas. Heather is a phenomenal photographer, fabulous/relaxed person and the photos that we have to share of our day are breathtakingly special and real. She made not only us very happy, but our families also and we can’t thank her enough.

Heather Phelps-Lipton is the best! Before our wedding, Heather asked me about the venues and what sort of pictures we wanted to have. Ours was a City Hall wedding in New York City and it was important to me to have pictures taken on the Brooklyn Bridge. Heather accommodated that request and then walked with us to the Marriage Bureau, snapping shots all the way. She worked really, really hard and always had a big smile on her face. She made me feel like my groom and I were the center of the universe :) I recommend Heather Phelps-Lipton without reservation.

Flexibility? How about traveling from NYC to Austin, Texas, to shoot a wedding at 9:00 am on a Sunday morning in 90 degree heat? Heather was bright, shiny, unobtrusive (and probably sweaty, though I can't say for sure) throughout our big day, and we received our images in a very timely fashion.
In addition to which, Heather was kind enough to shoot a honeymoon portrait for us when we passed through NYC a couple of weeks later. We definitely recommend...

My wedding was several years back now, but I still find myself short of breath when one of Heather's photos pop up on my screen saver. The night was the best of my life, and Heather's photos make it seem so alive and vibrant as if it happened last night. Her artistic eye is one of the most talented I have ever known. She captured the essence, the truth, the absolute beauty of the night, and that goes beyond professionalism. It's pure art. I rarely trust a review of all 5 stars. Was there really nothing to be desired? Nothing at all, not even a little? And yet here I am, confident in my solid across-the-board 5 star review because my desires were met and surpassed. Heather Phelps-Lipton did the photography for my Brooklyn wedding. It was a unique affair with lots of color and happiness and people not comfortable in front of a camera. When I first looked at the results I was speechless. It was as if I was back in my beautiful dress, happy, dancing with my dad, smiling at my husband, visiting my friends, I was watching the event unfold anew before my eyes. There was motion, humor, light, joy and delicate honesty. What also astounded me is that Heather seemed to be present at some of the most intimate moments and I never once felt her there. She captured the most secret special moments up close without making anyone feel like they were under a microscope. My advice is use Heather Phelps-Lipton for your most special events, let go, stand back and let her capture the experience with her keen eye for what is most important. You will end up with an unusually present and delightful work of art.

Heather went above and beyond as our wedding photographer! She was so accommodating and flexible, both leading up to and on the day. Heather is such a pleasure to be around, and really put us at ease. Having complete faith in Heather's own vision, as well as her ability to understand and manifest ours, allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our day.

Heather seemed to have a sixth sense for where the action was at every moment, capturing everything from intimate shots at home as the bridal party dressed, more traditional posed shots of our wedding party, lovely images of the flowers and food, as well as dynamic and unexpected moments between guests. Heather truly went the extra mile to capture the magic of our wedding: a favorite memory is Heather suddenly up on a ladder, with our 130 guests seamlessly gathered on the cobble stone street for a spontaneous group shot.

Heather and her camera blended beautifully into every part of our wedding. We barely registered that she was there as a photographer until we later saw the proofs of the photographs, which absolutely blew us away. The photographs are jaw-droppingly beautiful, personal, and absolutely unique. Heather captured not only the essence of us as a couple, but also the unique flavor and character of our urban wedding location in Red Hook, Brooklyn.

When I got married I wanted 3 things...an amazing dress, great food, and awesome pictures! All my dreams came true but none more so that the amazing photos from Heather! Having being a bridesmaid 17 times, I have been in many a wedding photo and I never really liked the traditional wedding photos with overly posed, stuffy pictures. Having seen Heather's work elsewhere I was drawn to her artistic ability to capture beautiful candid moments. Even the photos that were posed (to please the family) were so amazing. Heather has such a great eye and can capture the most precious moments that you never want to forget, like how our little girls looked in their pink and green dresses or how she had a vision of a perfect moment of my husband and I outside our reception venue and encouraged us out into the street. It is my favorite photo from the whole day!
