Maxine was so great to work with. She was very responsive from the start, and communicated with us every step of the planning process including rescheduling our 2020 wedding to July of 2021. I'm sure it was a stressful time for everyone in the industry and she was so kind, professional and helpful. The delivery and coordination went smoothly of all of our vendors and I know Maxine was a huge help in making sure that all went smoothly. The bridal suite was super spacious, and full of character, there were ENDLESS photo opportunities for us on the property – water, rolling hills, the house, the horses, sunset, the patio and gorgeous fields behind the house... Everything was beautiful. The property was STUNNING. Stunning is an understatement. Our guests can not stop talking about how beautiful the property was weeks later. We adore Maxine and Harwood Farm. Her and the venue will always hold a special place in our hearts. I would 100% recommend having your wedding or special event at Harwood. I'll let the photos speak for themselves!

We’re getting married at Harwood Farm next Summer and can’t wait! The property in STUNNING and Maxine is so great to work with. She is super flexible with her venue and responsive in all communication. The wedding package is unlike many others in the area as there are no restrictions on vendors or a start time. We have the full day for the wedding and the days leading up to setup without having to worry about other events. It’s one event per weekend which we love because we won’t feel rushed the day of and we can return the next day to gather any items or decorations left behind. Being able to choose our own vendors also meant that we’re saving in many areas such as catering and the bar. We’ll have a tented reception but there is also a beautiful barn on the property that is available which takes care of a cocktail hour or a rain backup. Very glad we chose Harwood and excited that we have the opportunity to really customize our big day.

I hosted my cousin's Rehearsal dinner at this venue. From the minute I drove up the 10mile per hour driveway, I knew this was the place. Breathtaking serenity, rustic paradise, and natures' perfect color palette (green lush lawn, blue skies and radiant sunset views) are a few of the best descriptives. Maxine was an absolute delight to work with, she assisted in every way possible to make the evening memorable for all in attendance. Highly recommended!!

We had our wedding at Harwood Farm in June 2015 and were blown away by the overall experience. The venue itself was exactly what we were looking for in terms of atmosphere, service, scenery, and overall experience. Maxine was nothing but helpful throughout the entire experience and during the course of our weekend-we couldn't thank her enough! One of the best parts of this venue was that Maxine only allows one wedding a weekend. That means that you have the whole weekend to do whatever you may need to do- meet with tent companies, caterers, decorate, etc (not typical of many venues). The venue played a huge part in the success of our weekend and the amount of our guests who are still talking about Harwood Farm is a testament to that. We highly recommend having a wedding at Harwood Farm, especially if you are looking for a beautiful, rustic, picturesque venue (perfect for photographs!!).

Cost - Harwood Farm should not be considered a “budget venue” but it can work within your budget. We were working off a very tight budget, with a lot of the wedding costs coming out of pocket. When you look at Harwood Farm you should consider you will need to factor in the cost of a tent, tables & chairs, and china & flatware. That being said, we made it work within our budget. Maxine has a list of vendors she has worked with before, but you can also find other reputable vendors who can give competitive pricing. We also picked up money saving tips along the way – eg. when to rent and when to buy an item, etc. Overall, even with rentals included, the cost of the venue was within what most wedding budget plans recommend.

Overall, we feel extremely blessed that we found Harwood Farm. We must have looked at fifty other venues online or in person and they were either way too expensive, very impersonal, or a combination of both. Harwood Farm (and Maxine) helped to make our wedding perfect. There is honestly nothing we would have changed about how our day turned out. We highly recommend! We recently got married at Harwood Farm, and we could not have been happier with our wedding, the venue, and the assistance we received from Harwood Farm in planning our special day! We were planning our wedding on a relatively tight timeline and even tighter budget, and Harwood Farm was able to make everything work perfectly. We take it as a high compliment to the farm that in the weeks after our wedding, nearly every one of our guests have changed their Facebook profile pictures to a picture they took at the wedding. Everyone loved the farm. And, being from Texas and rural north Florida, it was a very special place for us to get married.

Venue -The venue itself is idyllic for an outdoor wedding. We live in Washington, DC and it is hard to imagine that a place like Harwood Farm is only an hour away. Gently rolling hills, pastures interrupted by clusters of oaks, and horses lazily munching away on grass in the pasture – this is what you get at Harwood Farm. Not only is Harwood Farm beautiful – it is authentic. Hardwood Farm is a working farm – harvesting corn, boarding horses, hosting fox chases – they are helping to preserve rural America while offering couples an opportunity to get hitched.

Owners -Maxine and Bob are the owners of Harwood Farm, and we cannot imagine them being anymore helpful than they were. Maxine is attentive to her email and phone calls and is very upfront about issues like timing and pricing. While looking at other venues, we found many people had a lot of hidden fees or requirements for use of in-house vendors, but Harwood Farm was straightforward with us and helped us walk through the process from A to Z. Maxine was also available to act as an extra set of hands on the day of our wedding and helped to direct guests and generally ensure everything went smoothly.

Harwood Farm made my wedding day the most wonderful day of my life. Maxine offers top notch service and was so responsive and helpful during the planning process. The grounds were absolutely beautiful! We had a sailcloth tent where guests sat during dinner, but the venue allows for roaming around the grounds and enjoying the whole farm. All of our guests could not stop talking about this place and kept asking me how I found it! Maxine made the whole experience so personal rather than other places I visited where you were the 4th or 5th wedding that week. I would highly recommend Harwood Farm and its wonderful views and service to all brides!

I couldn't be more pleased with using Harwood Farm for my wedding and reception. The farm is absolutely stunning! We had our ceremony on the front steps of the historic home, and it was a perfect backdrop for pictures. We had a horse drawn carriage drop my dad and I off at the bottom of the aisle, and it added just that little something special to the day - and it fit in perfectly with the feel of the event. We had the reception in a big tent behind the house, and it was absolutely beautiful! We left most of the sides of the tent open so the guests could take in the picturesque views. My guests were amazed at how beautiful Harwood Farm is, and we couldn't be happier with the venue. We have the most breathtaking photos from our wedding, and you will too! (Definitely take a minute and capture some sunset photos - they were my favorite!)
