Weddings don’t have to be lilies and roses. There is nothing wrong with lilies and roses, we quite like them, but you don’t have to have those. You can have paper flowers or no flowers at all. Your options don’t have to be chicken or beef. Eat lamb ragu or vegan chili. Let’s plan a wedding that looks like the two of you.

SERVICES OFFERED
Grit City Weddings + Events offers several packages for weddings of all shapes and sizes. From elopement or elopement-like to massive 500-guest blow-outs, we have the connections, skill, and passion for weddings to make these awesome celebrations happen. We work with Tacoma-based small businesses to make these intimate weddings happen on a small budget but with huge style.
We want to work with couples who are on the same page as us, too. That means we agree on some basic tenets: Black lives matter, feminism is for everyone, no human is illegal, science is real, love is love, and religious freedom makes each of our lives rich with compassion.
Wedding Coordination
You and your friends and family actually get to host and enjoy your event instead of work it. You set up and reach out to all the vendors. We meet a handful of times prior to the big day. You hand over all the responsibilities to us and we provide the point-person to coordinate all things during the event. You can hire us for just the wedding day or for the whole weekend - like for the rehearsal dinner or the next-day brunch. Packages start at $1750.
Wedding Management
In addition to the most important job (day-of coordinator), we can help recommend vendors and negotiate pricing for you. We can work out a fixed number of hours or budget you want to spend on our services and we will be your thoughtful wedding consultant in addition to the day-of coordination. Packages start at $2750.

Best money we spent
She has so much experience. She was able to guide me to ask questions I never would have thought of asking on my own. She had ideas I never would have thought of that made our wedding so fun! She went to our tasting with us and helped make sure our guests dietary restrictions were covered (and asked even more questions we wouldn't have known to ask). She picked up our rentals early and brought them to the venue and then set everything up for us. Her day-of team was so capable, professional and fun.
If you want a vendor that is going to help you plan the event YOU want to have, help you set everything up and then take over so you can relax and have fun, Ashley is your person. If you want a vendor that you can put your full trust in (and even share intimate personal details if you need to), Ashley is your person. If you want a vendor that is warm, kind, accepting, organized, and rolls with the punches, Ashley is your person. I have 0 regrets, and, knowing everything I know now, would hire her again at double her price.
Grit City is incredible!
The thing we noticed most about Ashley’s level of service was the fact that we DIDN’T notice any of the many things she was doing behind the scenes. We saw her when we needed to, and she was everywhere else at once. She maintained a great calm and collected energy throughout the day, and our families said she was lovely to work with as well.
There were moments during the wedding (we found out later) that skewed slightly off plan, but Ashley is such an expert that she remedied them all as they came with quick wit and insight.
We literally had the PERFECT wedding day, and Ashley was a huge reason for that. We have already recommended her to our cousin who is getting married (with Ashley as their planner!), and we would recommend her 1000x more.
