My husband and I chose Fort Hunter because it was affordable and the scenery was AMAZING! We got married on the west lawn of the mansion. You have to pay $400 for the location and a $100 security deposit. $400 is a little much for a location where you have to take care of everything but the view is worth it and the cost goes toward the park which I think is a great cause. You cannot have anything left so instead of doing flowers for the flower girls we did bubbles. There was an outlet to plug in our guitarist. We had to set up our own chairs (which are provided in a shed behind the mansion) and decorations and tear them down. There is approximately 90 chairs, we fit 85 guests comfortably. The pictures turned out amazing but we didn't realize that it was homecoming weekend and we had to work around A LOT of kids but it wall worked out! The staff is GREAT to work with at Fort Hunter. We reserved the West Lawn and the indoor barn room in case of rain. The lady my husband and I spoke with was friendly and very straight forward. She showed us around and even called to confirm everything was still working out the week before the wedding. Unfortunately, she could not be there the day before the wedding but she did give me a contact number for her assistant Molly. Molly was very nice and allowed us to set up inside and out since there was a good possibility of rain (they are not in on Saturday so we spoke Friday). Everything went well and while I am still waiting on pictures to comes in, I did see some and they were beautiful. This venue is just gorgeous. The only downside is that you have to set up chairs the day of your event. Otherwise, I highly recommend Fort Hunter.

Julia and the park workers at Fort Hunter are amazing. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful and intimate. Our wedding was at 4pm. They were having a wine festival at 5pm. Even though it was a public park, we had no issues with other visitors to the park. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. It was such a great value. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a beautiful outdoor wedding.

Setting was absolutely beautiful. The staff was very responsible and helpful.

The church is a perfect little church for a small ceremony. It's very pretty and the people at Fort Hunter are very nice.

Fort Hunter is a great outside cermony location for small weddings. The back of the mansion looks out onto the Susquhanna River. If you have a small guest list you can rent the barn for your reception. It gives a very intimate setting.
