I had a great experience from start to finish working with Tracina and all the Formalities staff I interacted with over the course of planning my wedding. Formalities was one of the first stops my mom and I made when I started trying on dresses, and I’m so glad it was! We lucked out in having Tracina there while I was trying on dresses, because she was so helpful in the process. Whether it was clipping the dresses to get a better idea of how they would look on me, or adding a veil to get the full effect, or wondering aloud about ease of alterations, she was ready to help with anything. I love the variety of dresses they have available to try on, and that there were plenty in my size or that could at least be clipped to give me an idea. The lighting and mirrors were great to see the dress from different angles. I ended up feeling torn between two dresses, both available to order through Formalities. I so appreciated the staff’s patience with me as I came back a different day to try on both again! Once I decided on the dress & accessories, Formalities was great about helping me decide on sizing and ordering everything quickly for me. Everything arrived beautiful as expected. The seamstress who works out of the upstairs at Formalities worked some magic altering lace sleeves on my gown. Formalities did a great job having my dress looking beautiful for my wedding day!

I loved working with Formalities and seamstress Theresa! After trying a number of bridal salons across PA and VA, I found a beautiful and unique lace dress at Formalities that I loved -- it was unfortunately discontinued and a size much larger than what I needed. The shop assured me that Theresa could alter the dress easily, and I decided to take the chance and buy it off the rack. As promised, Theresa was a miracle worker, and the dress fit wonderfully for my wedding! I loved it and can't recommend this shop enough.

Tracina was so great when I came into to try on wedding dresses. She actually picked out the one I ended up choosing! She was extremely helpful in answering questions and trying to understand my wedding vision. Her staff has also always been nothing but friendly, helpful, and definitely eased the stress of wedding dress shopping and alterations. My best friend also bought her dress and bridesmaid gowns from Formalites after seeing how great they were through my wedding process. Absolutely recommend!

I’m very indecisive, so I went to many shops/tried many dresses. After my first visit at formalities, I told my mom i just want to order from them no matter what because of the people! Luckily, my dream dress did happen to come from here, and I’m so happy it did! While usually being self conscious, they made me feel like a rockstar and I got a dress I never thought I would..and it turned out to be absolutely stunning and perfect! Not only my dress, but my bridesmaids jewelry (all 10 of them).. I ordered and paid for them, and then after the fact the company came back and said they stopped making them. My heart was set on these pieces, and nothing was matching up. But Tricina went above and beyond and found me the perfect replacement, which I ended up loving even more! The experience and staff go above and beyond every time you’re there! I wish I had a formal event coming up just so I can go back for another dress! The best experience, the nicest people, the best shop!
