There are honestly no words to describe how wonderful Evelyn was as our wedding coordinator, but we’re gonna give it a shot! Events by Evelyn was professional, punctual, and full of knowledge through out the entire wedding process. Any question I had, anything I needed, Evelyn was always at the other end of the phone, email, or meeting us in person. Our wedding was beautiful and it wouldn’t have even happened without having such a strong day of coordinator. Weddings are notoriously stressful and full of hiccups, but my husband and I had the best wedding day, and any problem I had, I literally dumped into Evelyn’s lap and went on my happy way. This was a priceless gem that I didn’t know I needed for my wedding. I swore up and down that it was going to be a tiny wedding and we wouldn’t need help. But I’m forever thankful that I decided to hire Events by Evelyn because not only was my wedding day stress free and fun, it was fun of special little moments that showed how much my coordinator not only loved us, but understood us and our vision and our relationship. And she was all smiles, even through the craziness of a wedding. I told everybody at our wedding, it’s a mistake if you’re getting married and you don’t book this woman. And I stand by it 150%. Many things could have derailed our wedding, but Evelyn kept that train smooth sailing, and there’s nothing better than getting to enjoy your day knowing you have a competent and trustworthy person handling all the most important details. Budget, flowers, decor, scheduling, vendor management, anything and everything, she does it perfectly. Through out the wedding planning process, I kept hearing my favorite words “it’s about what you guys want”. In an industry with people who have stereotypical visions of what a wedding is supposed to be, Evelyn listened to my off the wall ideas, helped me fine tune them, and let me be the ring leader in planning the wedding of my dreams. My neighbor recommended Evelyn and I couldn't have found better luck! Evelyn is on top of EVERYTHING. I am a last minute planner and we decided that in order to curb the chaos we were going to hire her to keep both us (bride and groom) and the parents and the wedding party in line - not an easy task.
She-never-stopped. She took over communication with all of our vendors and REALLY listened to what me and my husband wanted. What I was missing in the mix, she found. She is reliable, personable, relate-able, empathetic to chaos, REALLY funny and a master at keeping calm.
During the wedding everyone kept asking me who the girl was who was always in the shadows next to me smiling and holding champagne chatting in my ear when I was actually free and refilling not only my glass but my guests glasses! If Evelyn has your date available- RUN AND BOOK HER. She is worth double what she charges and we just could not thank her enough. If we could give her more than five stars in every category, we would! We had our wedding of 175 in a big backyard garden of our family friends.
She was THE ONE who made sure everything was ready to go the month before, assembled a backup vendor for chairs and dance floor when the one I had planned fell through and absolutely, over the top AMAZING on our wedding day. If we were to do it over again, maybe we would change little things like the weather but the one thing we would not change, is having Evelyn as our month of planner. Best decision we ever made.

Evelyn is outgoing, engaging and isn't afraid to speak up (helps when other vendors are not replying to you and your giant families aren't listening). She is extremely receptive to your ideas and directions (we are very untraditional: we used pictures instead of table numbers, giant sibling table instead of sweetheart table, homemade tattoo bar and completely non-venue backyard garden and this didn't phase her AT ALL- in fact she blew it out of the water). She is available, and I when I say available, I mean it. She NEVER left a text or email unanswered and used both platforms with ease (which makes it super easy on a bride who is planning an out of state wedding and hates planning things and works full time...). She is fun, punctual, artistic (OMG does she have artistic vision!) and most importantly, she really truly cares about people. She never once scoffed at an idea we had or shut down our untraditional venue- she took everything in stride and literally turned our idea of a casual, dysfunctional backyard wedding into the most personal, beautiful, thoughtful botanical garden wedding.

Seriously. Evelyn was the best decision we ever made. I feel I have some clout when I say this because originally we were working with another wedding planner.... We hired a different partial planner the year before our wedding and it was a really hard experience for us. The DAY we switched to Evelyn, everything changed- literally. She was open, communicative, checking on the things we had done, reminding us of the things we hadn't considered (even getting me another make-up artist the month before the wedding when we realized my one friend couldn't do all the makeup! OH and bringing parasols from her own collection which saved us in 90 degree heat, plus everyone thought they were adorable and classic). The weeks leading up to the wedding she was instrumental in organizing our completely chaotic vendor team that I had mish-moshed together. The rehearsal was perfectly choreographed and she handled our bridal parties (18 super fun but crazy loud people..!!!) and families with such ease and grace.

OK last thing. Evelyn is organized and fun, but stern when you need her to be, but also she's just an all around magician. Evelyn completely transformed the backyard from aisles of chairs (that was it...) to this beautifully laid out, exquisitely decorated reception during just the cocktail hour. She was just astounding. And she created the personal, thoughtful, beautiful wedding we always wanted.

From our first encounter with Evelyn, she hit the ground running, doing everything that she could to ease the anxiety of wedding planning. Whether she was sending “update emails”, meeting up in the evening to discuss timelines (even by FaceTime), or going so far as to research (and successfully find) accessories to give our wedding that “pop”, Evelyn is willing to go above and beyond for her clients. In fact, she even met me after work to look at little wedding trinkets. She took time out of her personal schedule to make sure that we had everything that we wanted for our special day. I am a venue manager and have never before had a planner so on top of things and so passionate about her couples in my 20+ years of business. Evelyn is a bodacious event coordinator who will give you several doses of reality. My husband and I hired her for "day of coordination", but she went above and beyond with guiding us throughout the planning process. It is easy to get overwhelmed with planning an event. However, Evelyn is gifted in having the foresight to know what is needed, knowing how to tackle those unexpected problems, and she offers realistic options to suit your budget.
