ERIC STARR SAVED OUR WEDDING!!

No joke, guys. Eric Starr is THE BEST in the business!! Why is that? Saddle up, kids. It's story time.

So our wedding was last Saturday we were slated to have a really fun live band play at the wedding. Things were moving along until the day before the wedding, we get a call from the band leader. Bad news - the band had come down with COVID and couldn't play at the wedding.

Cue absolute PANIC!

My bride-to-be and I absolutely scrambled to find a band to fill in, but nobody was within our price range and, even harder, was available to play a wedding the next day! We were freaking out.

That is, until our wedding coordinators contacted us and said that their go-to DJ, Mr. Eric Starr, had an opening on Saturday and was down to last-minute DJ our wedding. Our sighs of relief could be heard miles away.

Now, we'd had our hearts set on not using a DJ and instead doing the live band experience, but after a conversation with Eric over the phone, we knew that Eric was the MAN for the job! He clued into all of our favorite musical stylings immediately, knew exactly what kind of genres we wanted to dance to, and offered some incredible suggestions to mimic the vibe of a live band and ensure that everyone would spend the whole night on that dance floor.

AND BOY WAS HE RIGHT!

The day of the wedding, Eric showed up HOURS before the wedding was scheduled to begin, just to make sure that all his equipment and everything was PERFECT and the sound would be exactly what we needed. If that doesn't scream "professional" to you, I don't know what will.

The wedding kicked off and he MC'd the whole night as though he'd been preparing for our wedding for a year - when in reality he'd only had 1 DAY TO PREPARE FOR THIS THING!!! AND HE BLEW THE ROOF OFF OUR VENUE!

People were dancing, drinking, and partying for hours thanks to Eric!! He was so on top of every aspect of the wedding and was in complete control every moment of the night. I was dumbstruck at how unbelievable this guy was! How he managed to get everything together and executed so perfectly in ONE DAY was completely astounding.

And after the wedding, all of our guests wouldn't stop talking about how amazing the DJ was!! I heard it from so many people I started to finish their sentences for them -

"Kevin your DJ was-"
"Amazing. The best. Rocked it all night. Oh yes. I know!"

And to top it all off, Eric threw in some freebies for our wedding that just ABSOLUTELY ELEVATED the entire venue!! Just because he's a cool guy and thought our wedding aesthetic would be kicked up a notch with his gift. And IT SURE AS HELL WAS!

Book Eric Starr for your wedding, people. Trust me. There is no DJ out there in the greater San Diego area, much less the world that is better than my man Eric!!

Booking Eric was the best decision as our DJ/MC for our wedding at Sacred Mountain in Julian. From start to finish, he was amazing to communicate and coordinate with. He had an online system where we entered each song we wanted to play and when, in addition to other songs we wanted to play during the evening. During our Ceremony, we had a pianist and guitarist and he was more than willing to work with them on sound/mics/etc. He was prompt and organized, setting up three different areas with sound and mics for us.

Our dance floor did not stop all night. He had lights and a monitor that played the videos of the songs we were dancing to. When there wasn't a video available, he setup a slideshow of some of our favorite photos together. His cues and transitions were seamless. It was an overall delight to have him as our DJ/MC on our big day :)

Eric was very friendly & easy to work with. He kept my wedding moving at a good pace and played all my requested songs. He made sure my guitar player and officiant has proper mics and amps and met with me prior to the event to ensure name pronunciations and timeline was nailed down which calmed my nerves.

I started my search for a DJ for my wedding and came across great reviews for E. Starr Entertainment. I contacted Eric and discussed pricing and what he offered. I was sold. His price and services were unbeatable. He provides DJ services for the ceremony and reception and also up-lighting, which with other vendors is normally an up-charge. He has a very simple and organized online planning form that keeps everything in order for you in regards to the timeline and which songs you want played for special dances and entrances. It was so easy to use and you could input things and come back later to update it. You can also make payments on this site, which made things very easy! Eric was amazing at our wedding. He played exactly what I wanted and knew how to get people on the dance floor, which is so important at a wedding. This can definitely make or break a wedding and Eric made the wedding so successful. Eric was awesome to work with. We approached another DJ for our event but he was already booked (9 months out- for a Sunday!) and he referred us to Eric. Things definitely turned out for the best. Eric got to know us and the music we like and translated that into an awesome time. He was super easy to get a hold of and was able to meet with us with barely any notice. He is a professional DJ at a great price.

Eric Starr was our DJ at our 10/29/11 wedding, and I can’t say too many good things about him! His online Event Portal was very helpful with organizing all the music choices and he 100% listened to everything we wanted at the wedding. I have heard horror stories about DJs ignoring “Don’t play” or “Must play” lists or doing the exact opposite of what a couple asks, and you don’t have to worry about that with Eric. As an MC, he was great; we never would have stayed on track with timing without him, and everyone complemented me later on how well organized it all was. My only disappointment (and I don’t think this is his fault, just a note for future brides) is that a lot my “must play” songs were played right when the dance floor opened, when no one was dancing quite yet, so I didn’t get to have some of my “dancing with my girls!” songs out on the floor. Like I said, not his fault, I also overestimated the amount of time I’d be able to dance without having to socialize, so I probably would have missed them anyway. A special point – my dad and I did a choreographed father-daughter dance with 2 songs edited together and Eric took care of everything for that. We just told him where to start and stop and he made it sound great. Overall, I highly recommend E Starr Entertainment!

We loved our DJ! Eric was amazing and kept the party going and followed our timeline to a 'T'. I would recommend him to anyone! He included all the guests at the reception, kept the request lines open (which at first worried me but it worked out great).

Eric was fantastic to work with and such a key part of making our wedding run smoothly. From the start, he was super easy to communicate with and very organized. His online portal made everything simple and stress-free - we were able to schedule songs, key moments, and timelines with ease.

On the day of, he came fully prepared with all his own equipment, which made everything completely hands off for us. He just handled it all, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. The sound was great, the transitions were seamless, and the energy was exactly what we hoped for.

Eric provided amazing DJ services for our outdoor destination wedding in La Jolla. His online system for scheduling the details of the event and selecting recommended and “do not play” songs was very convenient for us because we live in a different time zone. He was easy to talk to on the phone and highly professional. We spoke with him before the wedding about our music tastes, the specific songs we needed him to play (e.g., for first/last/parents dances, etc) and the progression of music styles throughout the night, and then he did a fantastic job with the rest!

Eric brought portable microphones for the ceremony (important due to the coastal breezes and background noise) and understood the layout of the venue well enough to perfectly set up his equipment including the extra up-lights that he brought. We didn’t see him much on the day of the wedding but I know he was working hard behind the scenes with our wedding coordinator to keep things running smoothly. He also played a big part in keeping everything on schedule (we wanted to pack a lot of special events into a short period of time and had to vacate the venue by a specific time at the end of the night to avoid extra fees). We never even had to think about timing or transitioning between different components of the event because his announcements made all of that happen perfectly.

Eric also seems to really understand his audience. Our wedding involved a mix of slower oldies at the beginning and progressed into faster dance party music by the end. He knew how to read the crowd and when to pick things up and slow things down. Leading up the wedding, we were really nervous that no one would dance, but on the wedding day, due to Eric’s great music and enthusiasm, we almost had the opposite problem. There were so many people dancing all night long that our only regret is that we didn’t have a bigger dance floor!

Eric Starr was our wedding DJ and he is great. He is friendly and easy to work with. He didn't laugh at our ridiculous song choices. Timing was important to my husband and he made sure we were on schedule all night. His energy level kept our guests on the dance floor all night. He kept everything running smoothly and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Thanks Eric!
