We had a 35 person wedding at Dunn Gardens in July 2024.

Tldr: It was absolutely perfect. We don’t have enough good things to say about our experience here, and choosing the gardens as our venue was by far the best decision we made regarding our wedding.

Now the long story: We spent months looking for nature-y venues throughout Washington and the Bay Area. After lots of dead ends and stress, we visited Dunn Gardens, and immediately knew we had found our place.

Our experience at Dunn was amazing.

Some key points:

Setting: Magical. Every nook and cranny of the garden is stunning. It is a PNW wonderland; fir trees, rhododendrons, and salal surround the garden, with ferns, sorel, and trillium underfoot and woodpeckers and birds chirping overhead. Little walking paths wind all over to ponds and benches perfect for peaceful, quiet moments in the trees. If that isn’t enough, the reception lawn looks directly over the Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains beyond. Our guests, like us, were in awe of the beautiful setting. We could not have dreamed of a more special location.

My husband and I got married at Dunn back in 2022 and, while we decided to have a small-20ish-person wedding, every single person who came to our wedding agreed it was the most incredible venue and possibly the best wedding they had ever been to. Sara was a godsend working with us to figure out all the details and dates and coordinating with our vendors and getting everything organized for the big day. It was the perfect day and the perfect place and I love love loved everything about Dunn Gardens, from the gardens themselves to the incredible staff. Highly recommend getting married here (or even just having an elaborate tea party there!)

I had a small wedding at Dunn Gardens in September 2023 and both me and my husband still rave about how amazing this location was. The event coordinator Sara was so genuine and helpful in answering all our questions and giving us a breakdown of everything Dunn gardens would provide as part of the wedding package. Pricing was well organized and we felt that the wedding preparations could not have gone smoother, plus we alway got a timely response if additional questions arose. In addition, the grounds are beautifully kept, secluded, and perfect for those looking for a ‘secret garden’ feel while still having plenty of space for guests to mingle and explore. Our evening ended with an amazing sunset on their great lawn and a portion of the pricing goes towards a yearlong membership to their gardens so me and my husband can now continue to return on our anniversaries and for other fun events they host.

Magical and lush! Such a wonderful background to work with. Very spacious and the Tennis Green is just perfect for ceremony. Carolyn is delightful to work with. Furthermore, many of the vendors in the area have delivered/worked with them before. Which, was a big relief for me.

This was the most beautiful wedding venue imaginable! Both our ceremony and reception were at Dunn Gardens in early summer so all manner of beautiful flowers were in full bloom, giving a stunning backdrop. Words can't do it justice, take a look at our pictures. Carolyn, the curator, was so kind and helpful throughout. We worked with Carolyn for nearly a year throughout our planning process and she provided incredible support. Above and beyond.

After changing wedding plans last minute, we found Dunn Gardens- and Carolyn! Carolyn was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and answered our numerous questions to help us plan a smooth, beautiful day with two multicultural ceremonies. She also helped us set up internet on the tennis green so that we could have guests attend virtually. The gardens were lush and beautiful, with so many different spaces to celebrate and take pictures. We are excited to visit the gardens again soon!

We are so thankful to have found Dunn Gardens for our micro-covid-wedding, it is a beautifully special place! On our first visit Carolyn showed us around, we had just cancelled our destination wedding in Hawaii due to travel restrictions and were losing our excitement and wedding planning energy, fast. When we first walked in, we immediately knew this is where we wanted to get married and our excitement was back! Carolyn was so helpful, flexible and easy to communicate with. We threw together our minimony in a month and everything came out perfectly. It was beautiful! We cannot wait to come back to enjoy Dunn Gardens in the fall once all the leaves have changed colors, it is a very special place. Thank you Carolyn!

Okay. I really don't know where to begin. Dunn Gardens is INCREDIBLE. It was a magical experience from the moment I spoke to Carolyn on the phone, to the moment we toured DG as our first (and only) venue, to the moment we tied the knot on the Tennis Green.
For starters, Dunn Gardens is a seven and a half-acre ENORMOUS venue, with incredible photo ops everywhere you walk. There are three huge garden areas that are all priced into your wedding plan. There are secret lil paths, picturesque cottages, and flowers EVERYWHERE. We bought the package for the whole garden and are so glad about our choice. There was so much room there, we could have fit 200+ guests, however due to COVID-19, that obviously didn't happen.
Carolyn was there at 9 am the morning of and she was ready to work. She set out parking cones, helped up us set up a router for our wedding Livestream and so much more. Carolyn - if you read this - thank you so much for all you did - you really helped make our special day that much more special.
Perks of using Dunn for your special day: There are a ton of areas that you can use for your ceremony and after-party, they don't have a list of people you are required to work with so you can bring whoever you want to help make your day special (bouncy houses, cotton candy machines, photobooths - you name it!) -- the one thing they do ask is that you use CORT or Alexander for tent rental - their prices are totally reasonable and seeing as its an outdoor venue, you might want to book a tent. They are incredibly helpful in offering up whatever you need - you can start dropping off stuff for your wedding the Thursday before and pick it up the next Monday, they have a ton of things leftover from other weddings that you are free to use - lanterns for tealight candles, about 50 wooden chairs, tons of linens and so much more. No matter what you envision for your special day, they will help make it happen.
As an added perk, because DG is a non-profit, a part of your payment for the rental gives you a tax break and a membership to the garden!
This really was the best place to get married and I HIGHLY suggest taking a tour.

I grew up in Northwest Seattle and in a pinch after replanning our wedding 3 times due to COVID stumbled upon Dunn Garden's. We had an immediate family only ceremony here and it was absolutely stunning. No decorations needed the gardens were all we needed. It made our day so so special. Carolyn was so fabulous and made sure we had everything we needed. I'm now just looking for more events to plan here in the future. So awesome.

Dunn Gardens is probably the most beautiful place you could ever get married. During COVID, our original location had cancelled on us and we were scrambling to find somewhere. After a recommendation from a friend, we were told about Dunn Gardens. We were able to get in the next day for a tour with Carolyn. Carolyn was amazing and willing to make everything work out for us. We had already dropped our wedding down to 30 people and this allowed us to do a micro-wedding on the Tennis Greens. Let me just say that you don't need flowers in the summer with everything in full bloom here. Carolyn arrived before us and helped set up and take down even though she didn't need to. She allowed us to use a getting ready space and we have so many beautiful photos and memories because of her. I highly recommend Dunn Gardens to anyone who wants a lush green wedding with the best professional and quality venue location.
