Located in Rothbury, Michigan, Double JJ Resort is available as a country wedding venue for couples. At this pet-friendly, ranch-style resort, the staff prides itself on providing a warm, family-like experience, allowing guests a glimpse of a true western-style dude ranch. While their main style exudes a rustic feeling, they can also accommodate elegant and luxurious weddings, complete with a lakeside ceremony and champagne celebration. One of the most enjoyable features many wedding parties enjoy is an arrival or departure in a horse-drawn wedding carriage or horse-drawn people mover, which seats up to 20 people.

Facilities and Capacity

Couples can choose from five different locations to host their wedding ceremony. There are four lawn locations, allowing couples flexibility in seating arrangements and different backdrops. The Maverick Lawn, Back Forty Lawn, Corporate Corral Lawn, and Wagon Wheel Lawn all offer lakeside views or features that make each location unique. If couples want something a little different, the Sherwood Forest provides a more peaceful location and gives a woodsy feel to photos. With four additional places to host a reception, couples are sure to find the perfect one for their wedding celebration. The Maverick/Wyatt Rooms, close to the Maverick Lawn ceremony space, seat up to 125 guests, and can be booked separately or together. The Sundance, located on a second floor, seats up to 150 guests. The Wagon Wheel gives up to 200 guests a view of Big Wildcat Lake. The largest location, the Dancehall, seats up to 250 guests behind large, sliding glass barn doors. Guests have the ability to park on-site, and the venue can also provide valet and shuttle service. This venue is wheelchair accessible.

Cuisine

While there is a set menu in place for regular dining, the Double JJ's banquet chef is happy to meet with a couple to design a custom menu and provide a tasting. While all catering must be done through the venue, they do allow couples the choice of bringing in their own outside cake. Their serving styles include buffet, family style, stations, and plated service, along with hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour. Their bar staff can provide their services for an open, cash, or limited bar, complete with beer, wine, and liquor. They can even serve a signature drink or champagne toast.
