I cannot say enough good things about Mike and his editing skills. We found him through a wedding Facebook page after his wife referred us, and from our very first interaction, he was wonderful to work with.
Mike worked with candid, informal footage from our daughter’s wedding and turned it into something truly special. What he created was nothing short of a miracle — a beautiful, emotional wedding video that perfectly captured the heart of the day and far exceeded our expectations.

Most importantly, my daughter and her husband absolutely love the final product. It was the perfect gift for them and something they will treasure for years to come. Beyond his incredible talent, Mike was so easy to work with — kind, patient, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure we were happy. I can’t begin to express how much we recommend Mike as a DJ. Out of all of our vendors (who were all fantastic!) there is no question about it, Mike made the largest impact on our day and on our guests’ experience.

We booked Mike for our October 2025 wedding after seeing his work at a friends’ wedding we attended on NYE 2024. We were just blown away with the atmosphere he created at this wedding from the music, lights, MC ability, we knew then that we wanted to work with him.

From the very first meeting, Mike was so easy to talk to, made us feel comfortable, and offered a lot of ideas taking into account our preferences, cultures, and backgrounds. He was professional, prepared, organized, and was just as excited as we were to have a good time!

Mike mixes music really well and incorporated a lot of our favorite songs and mixed them effortlessly throughout the night. It was great to hear the best bits of lots of songs instead of the entirety of fewer songs. This kept the energy high all night.

However, what we loved the most about Mike are all of the extras that he comes with:
1. He completely transformed the space with the uplights around the room as well as the “stars” he displayed on the ceiling. This was unexpected and so beautiful
2. MC’d our night which kept everyone on the same page and made the night flow really well
3. The TV screen which displayed our engagement photos and a wedding logo which many people complimented and was such a nice touch
4. The CO2 gun - this was so fun for us and our guests and gave us some of the best photo ops
5. VIDEOGRAPHY! What other DJ doubles as a videographer? Mike captured some amazing moments throughout the night and put together a video on Instagram that we could share with family and friends. This was so special especially because I had a lot of family that couldn’t make it so there was a highlight reel for them to watch

We have had many people tell us our dance floor was one of the best they’ve experienced and that the energy was so high. We owe a lot of this to the magic that Mike brought to our venue!!

Mike was the best DJ we could’ve ever imagined! He helped coordinate everything from our ceremony music to dinner, making the whole day run smoothly. He even came up with a fun way to avoid the “clinking kisses” and helped us earn a few hundred dollars out of it! His music choices perfectly matched our vibe and kept the dance floor packed all night long. His lights & smoke/c02 cannon were awesome. The photo booth was also a huge hit. And the video he made of our day, AMAZING. We’d absolutely recommend him to any bride and groom looking for a fun, organized, and talented DJ!

Mike was absolutely amazing! He traveled from Minneapolis to Fargo/Moorhead for our special day. Price was reasonable and he included everything that we wanted and more he went above and beyond! We had booked him over 2 1/2 years in advance, and he continued to keep in contact periodically! The music flowed perfectly and kept everyone on the dance floor from start to finish. We hired DJ Mike Nelson to spin the tunes and design the lighting for our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding reception last weekend. His responsiveness, positivity and creative ideas during the planning phase was ultra helpful and not a single detail was overlooked. From the playlist to the DO NOT playlist and everything in between, he had a recommendation for every part of the reception timeline. He was a terrific MC and entertained and engaged our guests. Everyone felt included and participated. Not a single person was sitting during the dance! The co2 canon was a big hit and provided a nice cool blast of air when the dance floor was heating up. Mike knows how to rock a party and his set inspired people of all ages to get out on the floor! Many of our guests commented that he was, hands down, the best DJ they have ever heard. We even had people who say they never dance at weddings get up and shake their tail feathers! Mike gave us, at no additional charge, a cut of drone footage he took during the ceremony and reception and it is something we will treasure forever. We can’t stop watching it.
