We hired DJ Mike for our wedding, and to say that he and his team were absolutely incredible would be an understatement. I had maybe 25+ people go out of their way to tell me how fantastic our DJ was.
Mike is a pro with over 21 years of experience, and it shows. He was flawless as an emcee, cracking tasteful jokes and brining the energy; he was extremely organized and adaptable to fluid wedding day schedules; he is incredibly talented when it comes to the actual DJ-ing portion; he knows a lot about all genres of music and truly cares about the songs; his lights setup throughout the room and smoke cannons were awesome. He single handedly made our reception feel so fun, and a majority of guest stayed longer than they normally might, with all generations out there for a few hours.
He is THE BEST possible DJ you could hire in the upper Midwest; if you want to have a fun gig, hire him!!! I truly cannot express how grateful we are to him for making our most important day so remarkably fun. He played such a large hand in that.

Mike and Tyler were incredible to work with! They reminded us of all the small key details that make the day so important and memorable. They allowed for us to approve/deny music so that the day was as individualized as possible! They are very reasonable for pricing and we loved that they use Venmo for payment as it allowed for flexibility. Tyler DJed our wedding and we had so many compliments on how great the music was! We loved the remix style that DJ MN provides. That way people don’t get bored with one song for too long! We weren’t expecting the dance floor to be filled as long as it was, but the majority of our guest list was there all night long because of HOW GREAT our DJ was!!!! We were so thrilled when a few days after the wedding, we even got a content video of the day. We didn’t hire a videographer so getting this video to capture the day was the surprise we are so grateful for! They djed my cousins wedding a few years ago and that just proves how much we loved them, that we HAD to have them for our own wedding! Would not recommend anyone else. You will not regret picking DJ MN for your event! Thanks Mike & Tyler! -

We picked Mike out because he had some great reviews so we knew he was going to be good, but we weren’t expecting him to be THIS good. Mike was great to work with leading up to the wedding, very responsive and pleasant to talk to. During the wedding he was extremely professional and made all DJ related things flow smoothly. Then the real Mike-Magic was during the dance. He took the songs we provided him, added additional ones that perfectly fit the vibe, and mixed them together perfectly. All the songs transitioned into each other so well that multiple people literally told me “these transitions are crazy” on the dance floor. The dance floor stayed full for the entire night which was my dream. At the end of the night, numerous people told us “this was the best wedding I’ve been to” or “this was one of the most fun weddings I’ve been to”. A large part of that is because of Mike. I cannot recommend DJ Mike enough. -

I cannot say enough good things about Mike and his editing skills. We found him through a wedding Facebook page after his wife referred us, and from our very first interaction, he was wonderful to work with.
Mike worked with candid, informal footage from our daughter’s wedding and turned it into something truly special. What he created was nothing short of a miracle — a beautiful, emotional wedding video that perfectly captured the heart of the day and far exceeded our expectations.
Most importantly, my daughter and her husband absolutely love the final product. It was the perfect gift for them and something they will treasure for years to come. Beyond his incredible talent, Mike was so easy to work with — kind, patient, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure we were happy. He took what we had and transformed it into something we will cherish forever. If you are looking for someone with exceptional editing skills who can work magic and is also just a genuinely nice person, I cannot recommend Mike highly enough. -

We hired DJ Mike Nelson to spin the tunes and design the lighting for our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding reception last weekend. His responsiveness, positivity and creative ideas during the planning phase was ultra helpful and not a single detail was overlooked. From the playlist to the DO NOT playlist and everything in between, he had a recommendation for every part of the reception timeline. He was a terrific MC and entertained and engaged our guests. Everyone felt included and participated. Not a single person was sitting during the dance! The co2 canon was a big hit and provided a nice cool blast of air when the dance floor was heating up. Mike knows how to rock a party and his set inspired people of all ages to get out on the floor! Many of our guests commented that he was, hands down, the best DJ they have ever heard. We even had people who say they never dance at weddings get up and shake their tail feathers! Mike gave us, at no additional charge, a cut of drone footage he took during the ceremony and reception and it is something we will treasure forever. We can’t stop watching it. If you want big fun energy and a sure thing for entertainment and lighting, go with DJ Mike! He helped make our wedding even more magical. Thanks Mike! -

We couldn’t be happier with DJ Mike Nelson! From the very beginning, he was amazing at communicating and really took the time to understand exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. We sent him a long list of songs we loved, and he did an incredible job weaving them into the night in a way that felt so personalized.
What really sets him apart is that he doesn’t just hit play, he mixes tracks seamlessly, which kept the energy high and the dance floor packed all night long. The transitions between songs were smooth and fun, and it truly felt like a party from start to finish. He also brought an amazing Photo Booth that is great quality and had people taking photos all night long!
He also helped keep the entire flow of the day smooth and stress-free, handling transitions and announcements. On top of everything, he captured some amazing video footage of the dance floor that we can’t wait to see as we will treasure it forever.
We are so grateful for everything he did and couldn’t recommend him more highly!

From our first email to the last dance, Mike went above and beyond to deliver the perfect experience for us and our guests! Our wedding was magical, from the grand entrance to our sparkler fountain first dance. The party was epic! He read the room so well! Everyone was dancing! Even my grandparents. He also captured the day for us! The video he created was amazing, we've probably watched it 100 times. We can't say thank you enough!! -

Mike Nelson is the most amazing DJ we could have picked for our wedding!! He provided an awesome experience not only for us but our guests as well, we had an outdoor wedding with the ceremony on the beach and reception elsewhere in a tent and he provided a speaker and microphone for our officiant to use. Moving into the reception, he created such an amazing time! From different games our guests and bridal party were involved in to a photo dash and getting everyone together for a whole group photo he was able to captivate our guests with the talent he has on a microphone and with the music he plays! Mike kept the party going all night and we couldn't have asked for a better DJ, he even created a video clip of our whole wedding day that we will cherish forever! I swear I have watched it so many times as it has helped us relive our special day! 10/10 would recommend you go with him for your wedding! All of our guests have told us what a fun time they had and also complimented how awesome Mike was as engaging the crowd! He was so good to work with on figuri g our our music and also providing the lighting for us in the tent!! Thank you Mike for everything!! -

Mike Nelson was the DJ for our wedding. The ceremony was outside and he provided a microphone and speakers, everyone could hear the officiant and the music. For the reception he kept things moving in a fun and direct way. He had creative ideas for how to get people out on the dance floor. He listened to our requests and the transitions from song to song flowed well and he put his own spin on it. He also made a video of us and the guests dancing which we will cherish forever! I highly recommend anyone to book him as your DJ! -

Dj Mike is a rare diamond! Mike is not just a DJ....he is a lighting production genius. Mike was involved from the beginning to end of planning and executing my daughter's wedding. We used almost every service he offered (photo booth, the band (Bourbon Creek), DJ, Lighting, Cold Sparklers, Wedding Ceremony Sound Equipment, etc.). Mike has mastered the art of this business. More importantly he kept the entire wedding and reception on schedule which was very important to me. He is a class act and any couple lucky enough to get on his calendar for their wedding will have no regrets. I promise you it will be what your guests and you remember the most. -

DJ Mike made our wedding day phenomenal! Not only is Mike open to everyone, he made my wife and I feel so comfortable as a lesbian couple which is hard to find in wedding vendors! He is so flexible, driving an hour and a half to interview us for the video. He is passionate about his work which you could tell in the quality of the first dance video, to the wedding day when the music/sound quality was out of this world. Mike made the planning easy and stress free, only sending a couple emails back and forth and literally doing everything we asked without any issues! He even went out of his way to help my wife find fireworks, set them up and completely surprise me!! Mike was not there to just make us happy he also made sure our guests had fun and kept the dance floor packed! Did I mention that he let me follow my longtime dream of being a DJ and spin hot fire on my wedding day?! Thank you Mike!!! -

Look no further! I could not have asked for a better DJ than DJ Mike Nelson! He is so personal and easy to work with and you can tell his main goal to is to help make your day go exactly as planned so you don't have to worry about anything the day-of. Our dance floor was completely packed the entire night and the way he transitions between songs to ensure there is no down time is second to none to accomplish this. All of our guests had a blast and I received more compliments on our DJ than anything else throughout our whole day. The extras he provides also make him stand out against any other DJ's I looked into. He put slideshows together for us that played during all of our first dances that were so special to us and a great way to incorporate pictures of each of us growing up and our families without taking extra time away from the reception. He also went above and beyond and helped with the sound at our ceremony during the last minute, which was HUGE and helped prevent a lot of stress that day as well. He seriously helped make our day perfect, was so easy to work with, and I have not stopped singing his praises and recommending him to everyone I know. BOOK HIM ASAP. You will not be disappointed and you'll be getting compliments and people will be talking about how fun your wedding was for years to come!!! -

DJ Mike Nelson is a professional. You want someone with fresh ideas, nice equipment, and a great personality. This guy delivers. Not only can he DJ music to keep you and your guests entertained all night, you will find it really hard to leave the dance floor. The process leading up to our big day was effortless for us as he would work around our schedules. We had a video package for our first dance and it was absolutely perfect. He had a very special surprise for us as he somehow managed to get the MN Twins broadcaster Dick Bremer to introduce us into our reception!! Incredible!! DJ Mike Nelson is incredible. From the music, to the lights, to the way he personalizes things, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Mike created the most incredible videos that played during our first dances. They were not only sentimental and heart felt (he had the entire room crying), but they also took some pressure off of us while we were dancing - something my husband and I enjoyed as we don't like being the center of attention, even though that is rather hard to avoid on your special day :) Not only were the videos perfect for the day of but we also have them to look back on and cherish forever. Having a wedding in mid September you would never expect extreme heat (95 degrees), but even then Mike was able to keep people out on the dance floor! Mike is so easy to work with and so accommodating. He will ease any worries that may come to mind. My husband and I couldn't be happier. He is one talented man! -

Not only did Mike keep the dance floor busy the whole evening, he also played an emcee of sorts, keeping things flowing through various speeches and other wedding night mileposts. He also suggested the idea for this short, funny "shoe game" that ended up being a blast. My parents complained he didn't play all their requests, but that was probably for the best, to be quite honest ;)

Samantha Sent on 09/06/2017We set out to DJ our own wedding via iTunes when a friend stepped in and hired Mike as a gift (because let's be honest, that truly was a terrible idea). Literally the best gift I could've asked for. Not only did it take the stress away from me, but it made the experience so much better.
Mike was very responsive to everything and he had great suggestions for things I wasn't sure about. We also wanted to personalize our entire cocktail hour and dinner playlist and sent him a list with a TON of songs on it and he made it happen. If I had to do it again, I would want Mike as our DJ 10 times out of 10. Could not have asked for a better experience, I really wish I could do it again!
