We knew we needed to hire Lucas after our first call with him. He immediately understood the disco-funk music style we wanted at our wedding and his enthusiastic energy was contagious.

I had told a friend of mine in the NYC music scene that we hired Lucas and he said that he is the best and we were in good hands. He was absolutely right. Lucas knows how to control the dance floor! Each song blended into the next so smoothly. People were avoiding going to the bathroom and barely anyone touched our dessert because they didn't want to stop dancing.

Everyone was feeling the music, from our 11-year-old cousin to our 80-year-old aunts. People were pulling out some impressive moves that I'm not sure they knew they had. I even crowd surfed!

Definitely hire Lucas if you want your wedding to be an epic dance party. You won't regret it.

We wanted the dance party of our dreams, and Lucas DELIVERED. This guy knows what he is doing. He got everyone grooving, from little ones to older folks, and kept the dance floor packed for three straight hours. Lucas is incredibly easy to work with and has impeccable taste. We were concerned about the acoustics in our venue, and he took care of absolutely everything. If your parents are pushing for a band... Lucas will put that debate to rest once and for all. He is the party.

Lucas is simply the best. He made our wedding day so effortless. He not only took care of all the audio needs but he also coordinated the lighting rental, install, and break down for us. The lighting looked amazing, all of the cues were spot on, and the vibes were outstanding. Everyone always says the day will be a blur, and it certainly was, we only had a few real moments to chat with Lucas but from the very first phone call we knew we were in great hands. Despite only chatting briefly on the day, it felt like we had worked together before. Lucas made everything easy and amplified how special the day was for us. I lost count of how many guests shouted on the dance floor, "This DJ is awesome!". I can't recommend him enough, hire him, you will not regret it.

Every single person (of all ages, generations, music tastes) was on the dance floor, the music was perfect the entire night, and we were told so many times by our guests that our DJ was incredible!! He listened to all of our requests for the type of music/party/vibe we had wanted and played all of our songs and kept the party going.
We were also pretty specific with music/timing for our ceremony and he nailed it. He was also very helpful in getting all of the equipment set up and professional the entire night. The pre-wedding process was really easy and Lucas was super responsive the months leading up to our wedding. I'd definitely recommend him for a wedding, and for any kind of party you are trying to throw!

Lucas handled a corporate event for me in New York City. From the get-go he proved to be easy to work with and incredibly professional. As an event planner, I like my vendors to arrive early, have everything set up and tested in time so there are no hiccups during the event. Lucas kept to the schedule and was ready to go so I had nothing to worry about.

More importantly, from the very first beat that reverberated through the room, it was evident that Lucas was a master at his craft. His ability to read the crowd and effortlessly transition between genres and eras was truly remarkable. Every song selection was spot-on. He kept everyone engaged and entertained throughout the night.

We've had Lucas in our venue, Rule Of Thirds, many times whether it's a wedding, large social gathering, or corporate function. While really knowing how to read the room, Lucas always gets the party going. As an Events professional myself, we've seen many DJ's come through our doors, but Lucas remains at the top of our preferred vendor list.

Music is arguably the most important part of a wedding/party, and a skilled DJ uses music as a universal language to bring people together and bring out their joy.
For our wedding specifically, we wanted the party rocking all night once the main food was done, letting their hair down and getting very sweaty and very loose. We had people from Latinx and American countries/cultures that couldn’t communicate that well, and we wanted everyone to connect on the dance floor. We gave Lucas a few must-play songs, and some others to give him a feel for our vibe, and he ran with it from there- switching between genres, mixing live, and getting EVERYONE MOVING TOGETHER!

His sound equipment was fantastic- good deep bass, clear range, covering a space holding 150 people.
He arrived early, running cable down to the outdoor ceremony site for audio, and stayed until the last person wobbled off the dance floor (my wife).
He was priced reasonably compared to others we checked out, and immediately from the first call we clicked because of his down to earth “I like to party” and confident “I know how to throw a party” attitude. He was moderately more expensive than the cheapest DJ we vetted, and less expensive than the highest priced, but the higher priced had Bella and whistles in their packages we didn’t care.. Lucas is straight up music and rocked it.

I actually can't envision my wedding without Lucas Walter providing the sound track from the pre-reception cocktail through to the bitter end of the after party. His choices, tempo, cadence, intuitions, ability to read the room, respond, and ULTIMATELY ELEVATE was such a key component to me and my now wife having the best night of our lives. And the reason it came together so immaculately, I have to believe, is because of the time and effort he put into the pre-wedding preparation. Multiple zooms, surprising suggestions, structuring questionnaires — it all added up to a level of confidence and comfort Amanda and I had going into such an incredibly high stakes 8 hours of celebration. I cannot overstate how front to back indispensable Lucas was. 10 out of 10 would I recommend him to others looking to make their weddings truly the best day of their lives.

Lucas was the highlight of our wedding! Everyone was on the dance floor the entire reception, exactly what we wanted. Lucas was amazing to work with. He does a great job of striking a balance between what’s cool and relevant, and classic hits. For weeks after our reception our guests were reaching out raving about our reception dance party. The final song was the cherry on top of a perfect evening. 10/10 would hire again.

We had Lucas DJ our wedding in Holbox recently. It was originally scheduled for March of 2020, but we had to cancel and move to Jan 2022. He was a true professional and so wonderful! He made himself available for our new date and didn’t even change his rate (even though he very well could have and all our other vendors did). At the wedding, he was incredible and created the most amazing vibe on the dance floor! The most common comment of the night from everyone, including myself: “I have had to pee for hours but don’t want to leave and miss a song!” He also made the most beautiful remixes of Persian dance numbers and other bangers (I am Iranian and my husband is Irish Catholic). Every single guest was on the dance floor for every single minute! On a personal note, he is also just an awesome and nice person.

The best money spent for our entire wedding. I can’t recommend him enough and hope to hire him for every party we ever have!
