Des was the hair AND makeup artist for my wedding, which involved full hard-glam makeup and over-the-top up-do for the Bride (me), and soft-glam + updo for the MOTB and MOH. My hair was INCREDIBLE. I brought tons of pearl necklaces and white peacock feathers and Des worked MAGIC. All three of us refused to wash our faces and slept with our full lashes on and wore our eye makeup for a full three days after the event. The photo of us on the street was an easy 12-hours later after crying and dancing all night, also I am well over 40yrs old, so that makeup has real staying power. Des drenched me in moisturizer, love, calm and good vibes. To my shock, she also sent me out the door with a "MRS" goodie bag packed with everything a bride assistant could imagine needing. Everyone was thrilled. I was worried, because I was very budget conscious and I was spending more on Hair&Makeup than I did on the dress + DJ - and I gotta tell you, it was 1000% worth it. The best investment we made for the whole wedding next to the venue and the photographer.

I just wanted to share about my experience working with Des. First of all, I met Des about 12 years ago when she agreed to do my make up and hair TFP for a photo shoot with a photographer we both knew. I had had my make up professionally done several times before and it was fun, but I never really felt like they got what I was looking for and was left feeling like I’d rather have just done it myself. But OMG when I looked in the mirror after Des worked her magic on me I had never felt more beautiful in my life, and the confidence I had came shining through in those photos.
Fast forward 12 years and I never forgot that feeling. Honestly, one of the first thoughts I had after my boyfriend proposed to me was “I wonder if Des still does hair and make up because I want to feel like that on my wedding day”. I reached out to her and she instantly remembered who I was and it felt like no time at all had passed between us. Not only is Des is the absolute best at what she does, she is one of the sweetest and most thoughtful people I have met. All of our communication up to the wedding day felt like we were old friends and l truly felt like she was invested in doing everything in her power to give me that feeling and help make my wedding day as perfect as possible. I decided to do a make up preview so we could nail down the look and I would have one less thing to potentially be stressed about on the big day. I had some thoughts on the look which she was eager to hear, she took them and just ran with them like a true professional, completely exceeding my expectations. I felt like we both had so much fun with the whole process. I left feeling like a weight had been lifted off me knowing even if everything else fell apart, at least I was going to look gorgeous on my wedding day! 😂
When the day came, Des showed up early and I felt her excitement for me. This isn’t just a job to her, her heart is truly in providing an elevated, unique experience giving her bride the royal treatment. She made me feel like an absolute queen. We had some last min changes, both my mom and my future mother in law decided they wanted make up done, and Des had allowed enough buffer time to be able to accommodate them easily without compromising my experience. The whole process was so much more than I realized it would be. It was a full spa treatment, massage, skincare, even deep hand moisturizer, topped with the most gorgeous hair and make up done in such a fun, intentional way. Des has the gift of being able to make it feel like we were just two bff’s getting ready for a fun night out, while still being the absolute solid professional I needed to keep me cool and relaxed preparing for the biggest event of my life. When I stepped out of that chair I felt like the most confident, beautiful woman in the world and I am literally tearing up as I write this recalling the feelings I had in that moment. Everything went perfectly that day, and boy did I have some strong emotions during those speeches. My make up and hair held up like Stonehenge and the only thing I ever touched up was my lips, from all the kissing of my new man.😏 I have already referred Des to my next two girlfriends who are getting married. I hope anyone who is considering booking with her will lock it in because she is an absolute master of her craft, and every woman deserves to feel that feeling especially on the biggest day of her life!
