Hello and welcome to Connor's Craft Cakes! I am fairly new to San Diego and California all together. I moved to Encinitas in the summer of 2022 after honorably separating from the US Air Force. My professional background is far from cake baking, but my passion has always lied with creating delicious food.
Originally from Bend, OR, I graduated from the University of Portland in Oregon in 2017 with a bachelor's in Civil Engineering and commissioned directly into the Air Force through ROTC. After applying this subject as a Bioenvironmental Enginering Officer in the Air Force for 5 years, I decided it was time to shift from the corporate setting and pivot to do what I love.
Although, I didn't land on cake baking immediately. For years I have been making cakes for friends' and family's celebrations, but only by accident did I turn my artistic oulet into a business. In the summer of 2022 I made three cakes for my brother's family going-away party here in North County San Diego, and the crowds raved about them and asked for business cards and contact info. I chuckled at the positive reactions, but pretty soon decided to take the feedback seriously.
Now I have quickly become licensed and permitted, begun designing and baking for weddings, bridal showers, birthdays and everything in between. It's so rewarding to develop new craft flavors that you can't find in the store or even in local bakeries. I'm excited to continue developing new flavor combinations that will blow you away!
