Our cake was included through our venue, Birchwood Vineyards, and we were given the choice between Chickadee and another bakery. Chickadee was the clear choice from the start — and they exceeded every expectation we had (even the expectations I didn’t realize I could have).
To be completely honest… cake was the very last thing on my wedding priority list. I’ve never liked cake — my entire life — and I walked into our tasting fully prepared to let my fiancé handle the decisions because she’s the one with the sweet tooth. But from the second we walked in, Chickadee changed that for me.
The tasting itself felt like a sweet little date night: private, warm, fun, and surprisingly plentiful. I couldn’t believe how many flavors we got to try or how genuinely delicious everything was. I actually fell in love with their tri-color cheesecake (it was incredible!), and even though we ultimately didn’t choose it because of the upcharge and how niche cheesecake can be for guests, it was worth every penny they asked for. We ended up selecting carrot cake and tiramisu for our tiers, but truthfully, picking anything was hard because everything — even the “simple” flavors like cookies & cream and strawberries & cream — had so much depth and richness. For someone who doesn’t “like cake,” I found myself enjoying every bite in total disbelief.
The design process was just as seamless. Our venue has naturally beautiful, minimalist décor, so we chose a classic white frosting with a gold drip on each tier, with florals coordinated to our wedding colors. We added our own gold wire silhouette topper from an Etsy shop in the UK, and when it all came together… it was breathtaking. Multiple guests commented that they thought it wasn’t even a real cake because it looked so flawless and artistic. It was elegant, clean, romantic — everything we wanted and more.
The flavors on the wedding day were absolutely spot-on, and guests raved about how fantastic the cake was. Chickadee’s communication throughout the whole process was excellent, and on the wedding day their delivery was so smooth and punctual that we never even saw them arrive or leave — they were stealthy pros in the best way.
As an FYI (not a con at all, just helpful info): we have several celiacs in the family, and Chickadee did offer gluten-free cupcakes in basic flavors, sold by the dozen. We ultimately chose to bring a separate small gluten-free cake so our family members could have a “true cake” experience — but we appreciated that Chickadee offered an accessible alternative.
If I ever need a cake for another special event, I wouldn’t even think twice — Chickadee Hill Cakes will always be my first choice. They’re talented, thoughtful, easy to work with, and genuinely exceptional at what they do.

My husband and I are pretty picky people but we picked right when we went with Chickadee Hill Cakes, we have never had desert so good in our life! Our wedding was a day to remember but also our cake is one we will never forget either! From start to finish the team made the process seamless, they were attentive to every detail which left us feeling confident from the very beginning.We got so many compliments on our wedding cake, from how gorgeous it looked to how tasty it was. The proof was truthfully in the pudding, the team's efforts and talents are shown in their cakes. The flowers and decoration on the cake were to die for and really elevated the room when peaking at it. It was such a hard decision on flavors since every single one grasped your tastebuds but we chose the Cookies and Cream and Berries and Cream flavors. The flavors are astonishing when you taste them but also you melt with love at the texture and softness of their cake/frosting. Chickadee Hill Cakes was a huge part of why our day was so special and I will be recommending them for any and all events!

We cannot recommend Shara and her amazing team enough! From the very beginning, working with them was an absolute dream. Their communication was flawless, they were incredibly attentive, and they guided us through every step of the process with care and professionalism. Shara, Melissa, and the whole team made us feel so confident and excited about our cake, and their talent truly shines in every detail.

The cake itself was breathtaking, truly the star of the night when it came to décor and presentation. We chose Lemon Blueberry Buttercream and Cookies and Cream, and both flavors were phenomenal, every bite was incredible! Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious it was. The cake looked exactly as we envisioned, with the most stunning florals adorning it and the cake topper perfectly in place, making it absolutely picture-perfect on the dessert table. It was elegant, beautiful, and unforgettable, a true highlight of our celebration.

We are so grateful to Shara and her team for bringing our vision to life with such artistry and care. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and warmth made the entire experience seamless and joyful. We can’t wait to eat the top frozen layer we saved for our anniversary; it’s such a special way to relive a little piece of our perfect day.

We chose Chickadee right away after tasting their samples. Every option was so delicious we finished off everything! It was hard to choose but went with the white cake with berry cream filling (the winner for sure!) for the main tiers and the tiramisu filling for the middle tier. The staff was very efficient and accommodating. Just weeks before the wedding we needed to order a gluten free option in addition and they easily accommodated with delicious cupcakes with several options for the filling. Our GF guests, and some of us not GF, found them to be very delicious. We highly recommend Chickadee Hill Cakes for your event!

A month later... We are CRAVING our wedding cake. It was SO delicious. We saved the top tier of the cake in our freezer for our anniversary, but it may not make it that long :)

Our first experience with Chickadee Hill Cakes was a tasting at their location which included an assortment of different flavors / options to choose from. As we had a fall wedding, there were seasonal options and we decided to go with a multi layered themed cake (pumpkin w/ caramel chai and lemon/blueberry on different layers). We worked with Kelly & she was able to masterfully design our cake while we were enjoying the 'flight' of wedding cakes.

Chickadee Hill Cakes worked with our florist to understand our theme and matched our arrangements on the wedding cake (they provide their own flowers for cake decor).

Ultimately, our wedding cake matched the drafted design perfectly. Even our videographer commented on how he's tried hundreds of wedding cakes, but this was one of the best.

We got our wedding cake from Chickadee Hill for our August 2024 wedding at Birch Wood Vineyards! We ordered the berries & cream and spice cake with apple filling for our tiered cakes and both flavors were delicious. We shared some inspiration photos and our florist’s proposal with Chickadee and they created such a stunning cake that perfectly matched our wedding florals. I cannot say enough good things about our experience! Not only was our cake stunning, but I have lost count of the number of comments we’ve received about how it was one of the most delicious cakes our guests have ever tasted.

Most importantly, the cake was delicious! But also important, the entire experience with Chickadee Hill Cakes was wonderful. We enjoyed our cake tasting, their designs were beautiful, their customer service was great, and their prices were very reasonable. We had tried this cake at two weddings before we booked for our own wedding, so we knew that the cake they provided would be delicious, however the experience with them far exceeded expectations!
