Fantastic Ceremony Venue!
St. Matthew's is breathtaking in and of itself. Their staff is extremely accommodating and great to work with. I highly recommend this venue (and Fr. Lopez especially) for anyone interested in a Catholic mass for their wedding.

The Cathedral is one of the most beautiful churches in DC. It was built in the 1800's and has the longest most beautiful aisle...it felt like it took ten minutes to walk down :). The Cathedral is historical, President Kennedy's funeral mass took place here.
The Cathedral was SO respectful of the fact that my husband is Jewish. They never pressured him to convert or anything. We had a rabbi, a huppah on the alter and broke the glass. It was an amazing blended ceremony.
The location of the Cathedral is great...Conn. Ave and M street area!

Most beautiful church in DC, the best organist in DC, the best choir in DC, and the best priests. Your wedding guests will be absolutely awed through out your wedding!

Marriage Prep at St. Matthews went very well for out of state wedding
We did not get married at St. Matthews but in my NY hometown, but did our marriage prep here and Father Isaac helped us with all our pre-cana preparation and made sure the paperwork was sent up to the diocese in NY.

St. Matthew's provides an ornate setting for a Catholic wedding. Our guests were awestruck by the beauty of the Cathedral. Fr. Evelio performed our ceremony. After meeting with him 5 times prior to our wedding, we really appreciated how he added bits and pieces about us as a couple into the ceremony. The Organist, Paul Hardy, was very responsive and easy to work with. Jennifer Goltz was the cantor and soloist. Many guests commented on her beautiful voice and the music from the powerful organ. We truly loved having our wedding there and would recommend it to any couple.

The Cathedral is breathtakingly beautiful. The Monsignor was so sweet and helpful throughout the marriage prep/planning process and gave a lovely and touching homily at our ceremony. We loved that he spoke directly to us (and faced us) during the ceremony. He also ran our rehearsal the day before very efficiently and we felt very confident that everyone would know when to do what on the day of.
There is quite a lot to do to get married here, as with any Catholic church I believe, but it was well worth it in the end. I would advise anyone looking to get married at St Matthew's to schedule your date, and your meetings with the priest well in advance, especially if you want the 2:30pm ceremony slot and Monsignor Jameson to marry you. We booked our date a year in advance, and set up our pre-marital sessions 6 months in advance and even so it was difficult to schedule meeting dates convenient to us. The organist, Paul Hardy, also did an amazing job with the ceremony music and is possibly the sweetest man ever. He also let me cousin sing a solo at the ceremony, and practised it with him the day before, with music/song that he had never seen before!
