We used the Casco Bay Lines (Bay Mist) for our transportation for our guests from our ceremony in Portland to our reception on Peaks Island. Originally, we were looking at the Bay Mist for our reception, but decided to do the Inn on Peaks Island instead, so I had the opportunity to work with Caity for both a wedding venue and wedding transportation. Caity is great to work with throughout the whole wedding planning process - she answered my relentless questions quickly and with comprehensive answers which I really appreciated! She also provided recommendations on what she's seen at other weddings before which was really helpful. We had Amato's cater, and it worked really well with the Bay Mist! We had to depart a couple minutes later than expected since we were waiting on some guests, but all the staff were flexible. Everyone was great on board - from the bartenders, boat staff, captain, etc.
We were able to navigate around Casco Bay and even spent some time near Portland Head Light, which was incredible, especially for our out of town guests!
From a budget perspective, the Bay Mist is definitely affordable - it was a great option for us to shuttle all of our guests from Portland to Peaks Island in a truly unique way. I would highly recommend using Casco Bay Lines for your wedding venue or for transportation!

We took our out-of-town relatives aboard the Bay Mist for a lobster bake and to give them a real Maine shoreline experience. When we had booked with Casco Bay Lines, we thought we were essentially just renting space on the boat for our guests and that our money covered that and the actual ride around the bay. We were pleasantly surprised to get so much more with Caity, the event coordinating power-house! She and the crew were AMAZING! Caity answered about a thousand questions for us and for our guests and even helped set up our dining area the morning of our event so that no one from my wedding party or the caterers had to. The whole experience was beautiful and unique. I was truly able to focus on my husband and myself on our day and the days leading up to our wedding because we knew we were in good hands!
